Interesting I have a flight from Panama City to Medellin on the 14th which I may be cancelling, and I have the COPA App on my phone and just checked it and everything is a go. Maybe I need to call them and complain on everyone's behalf. I think the reason my flight hasn't been cancelled is because it's only the second flight into Medellin from PTY with the first one on the 12th. They sent me a million E mails three weeks ago announcing this.

Maybe the flights for the next week are empty. That's a fucked up deal for anyone flying to Panama City on another airline. I have a COPA flight from LAX to PTY with the connection to MDE so I'm sure they would of contacted me by now if they were going to cancel the the second leg of the trip but to play it safe I will check. I'm not aware of any other carriers out of PTY to MDE as that is solely COPA's route I believe, but could be wrong maybe LATAM has flights?

So I log into my account with COPA and type in my Confirmation number for my flight on the 14th and guess what, there's no flight. I then check my mileage account and at least the bastards put the 35,000 miles I used back into my account so hopefully I will get my $ 26 in tax paid back. So then I check on Kayak for that date and future dates and no more COPA, however the good news is that now I can fly JETBLUE from LAX thru Florida and they have flights that leave at 9:30 PM arriving in Medellin at 9:30 AM so actually better than COPA but no business class. So I'm bummed out but will go in a few weeks.

The bastards didn't even send an E mail, and if it wasn't for the other posters I may have gotten the COVID test and then subsequently find out afterwards it was a no go.

Copa has been anything but dependable of late. Part of that is because of the Panamanian government. But there is no excuse for not sending notice of cancelation as soon as it happens. I wonder if they would have ever sent me notice? And if so, would it have been too late to re-schedule on another airline.

I do not think it is an issue with the airport, as they offered to re-book me on the same flights two days later, but I can't do it.

Probably is. While I do not go there (only went once and hated it), I can see the spotlight shining from La Islan from my terraza in Laureles and I saw it on my last trip.

Is it possible because CDC requires all travel through particular airports with any CDC Level 3 countries and Orlando isn't one of airport at this time?

I went there one time. Nothing really tickled my fancy there, so I left. The talent must have been occupied or maybe it was an off day. Only reason I remember that place is because upon leaving, there was a large uncovered hole in the sidewalk and I fell and ate it pretty hard. LOL.

FYI. F'in Copa cancelled my 10/21 flight and did not notify me. I learned today that my ex-wife's mother's flight from Bogota to Orlando on 10/14 had been cancelled. So I decided I should investigate my flight from Orlando to MDE on 10/21. After 30 minutes on hold, the lady confirmed that my flight had been cancelled and that I could re-book for 10/23 (which I could not due). No e-mail notification. So good things I was proactive and checked. Booked myself on Spirit out of Orlando through FLL.

So. Warning. If you have reservations to go to MDE on Copa, you might want to confirm.

At this point I have three cancelled reservations on Copa (one for SJO and two for MDE). I hope I can use them in 2021. It's too bad. I like Copa. I like that they give you food on the flight. I like that they do not charge your for bags. I like their customer service people. But I hate all of the cancellation (although some not their fault) and the LACK of notification of cancelation.

Nooooooot true I have a PCR test sitting on my lap as we speak. Sending it back Monday morning and results are expected 2 day turn around. Visit the site Pixel by Lab Corp for more details. Also it's covered by insurance. $0 out of pocket. There are about 9 different sites that offer this service. This was the only one that didn't require you to pay for the kit and took insurance.

Actually you're both right (or wrong).

The analysis can only be done at a lab with the appropriate equipment, but they will send you the test kit, for you to mail to the lab.

I respect the advice of my fellow mongers but I double down on my advice and speak from direct experience. I lived on that street for more than 4 months, in Hotel Botero, an apartment, and I stayed at the Nutibara as well. The corner where the bus stops is safe because of the bus workers and the 24-hour caf there is well lit, and there are regular people inside. The owner shoos away the riff-raff. Sit down, grab a bite, and they will help you if you need it. You cross the street and you are at the Nutibara but you have to walk around the closest corner to get to the front entrance that time of night. The sidewalk will take you right to the front door. As long as you don't wander you will be fine. There are taxi cabs at the caf corner where the bus lets you off and if you are so inclined, you could pay the minimum taxi fare, I think it's 3000 (less than $1) to drive you around the building to the front door of the Nutibara. Don't head off in the wrong direction. At that time of night, toting luggage would make you a target for getting "rolled" by the Venezuelan hoods and trannies who control a few blocks over from the Nutibara.

By the time I left El Centro I could walk into the heart of the beast from Botero in the opposite direction of the Nutibara to visit two bisexual female Venezuelan roommates who were friends of mine. Everyone left me alone because I was known by then, and protected by the Venezuelan muscle. My point is maybe I am a little crazy and cavalier with my advice and you should take that into account. I've been to all 7 continents and mongored on six of them (there are no sex workers on Antarctica) and I never had a lick of trouble. Now that I think about it, maybe you should do the opposite of what I say, jjajajajaja I have been incredibly lucky, all my life..

Just a note: Taxi meters start at a minimum, which I believe is currently 3400 COP. That is not the minimum fare. Last I knew, I believe minimum fare was 5500 COP.

If the guy is staying in Laureles and arriving at midnight, his best bet is to take a taxi. I don't know what the rate is this year, it was 75 k, but it's a set rate. There's a large sign on the outside of the terminal with the taxi rates to different cities.

That's not to say a taxi driver won't try to charge you more. Verify the price before you get in the taxi.

One other thing, or maybe 2. There are 2 buses. One goes to El Centro, and the other goes to Centro Comercial San Diego. The buses don't run on a schedule. They leave the airport when the bus is full.

I knew it as simply Paradiso. I was hoping against hope. You could have a drink at the bar and chill. They had the hottest chicas. I met a 9 there in one of my last trips of which I reported. Many other top notch which I didn't report. Very bad news for me that they're closed.

No. You would think there was no pandemic at all! Once I got into the MDE airport, no one asked me about temperature, symptoms, anything. When I got into FLL, I walked off the plane, got my bag, and left the airport. Absolutely no requirements or checks.

You can dispute the credit card charge to get a refund.

My initial flight for the 19th with Copa was cancelled. They had to change morning flight to late night to assure connection. I was told no refund. Only option is voucher.

And I should have asked the obvious question-they are avaliable correct? I've read alot of post where families are there (mom and daughters etc) and the last thing I want to do is approach a prego and her family gets angry. I'm not in the disrespect business.

And is everyone taking these girls back to their hotel rooms? I have not seen anyone mention local hotels like Santa Fe in Bogata.

Should be obvious if they are working, either leaning against the wall, standing on the corner or in the doorway to the stairs to the short term hotel. I always do the short term hotel they take you to 1st for a test ride, no sense sleeping them back to my room if they aren't very fun in bed.
