I can't, I'm still a regular member. I guess to PM you need to be a senior. Anyway, yesterday I visited El Cielo. It was great, highly recommended! I went for the menu degustation, which is 190000 or something like that. Another level. Superior restaurant with creative cousin.

So, today I have been witness of two episodes en el centro. Before I have seen a group of chicas discussing. One of them was losing blood from one hand. I didn't assist at the event, so I don't know if it was a fight or something else. Police was around, but apparently no one called.

About one hour later between Veracruz Church and Plaza Botero, a man in his fifty with a backpack has been robbed of his phone by two guys. I didn't see any weapons, but the man was on the ground trying to hold his phone, but the two guys took it from him and ran away. I can't say exactly because he was wearing a mask, but considering he had a backpack, my guess is that he was a tourist. Most of the tourists I have seen had a backpack.

So, once again, if you go to El Centro, leave your phone in the hotel, and if you have it, just don't use it. And bring with you just the money you need for a couple of shots.

You probably saw a Colombian getting robbed. Lots and lots of Colombians have backpacks to carry umbrellas, jackets, and other stuff in them. If it had been a tourist, an obvious foreigner, they would of taken the backpack as well thinking that it was full of gold. When someone has a phone in their hand it's much easier to steal then wrestling a backpack off of someone.

There is an "organization" that recruits and facilitates this. Not sure if it is the narco cartel or their affiliates. Not even sure if they are Colombian or Mexican organizations. The few girls I know who went to Mexico seem to have gone there after they turned 18. At least none of them complained about the experience, one did say that the recruitment pitch doesn't always match the actual experience. I think they get the passports and glamour shots done. I believe I have been descriptive on my thoughts of centro. But let me confine it to the veracruz alley / short stretch carrera 53 to the corner. Let me describe the hunt. You can thank jjbee for this analogy. Its like digging in a garbage bin praying to find fresh food. Now the other portion of Centro is great. Local food, fruits, shopping but no one talks about that. About me I am cheapy charlie to a degree. I have class to a degree. But I like girly girly girls, fashionable, soft looking, soft tone, safe and uplifting environments. Ratchet is not for me. I cannot linger and be comfortable in that environment. So my thoughts is how could any other person be that's not force to survive in those conditions. What sickness attracts him there and allow him to get comfortable. Well surfer did I get detailed enough LOL.

I appreciate your thoughts and detailed analogy of El Centro, in essence your calling the Veracruz area a place for mongers who are Dumpster Divers.

The area you described, lets call it the Veracruz Alley with the glass covered sidewalk and the hangout spot for the shemales is probably the very best spot to hang your hat in El Centro while Dumpster Diving. Thru this area every single hooker who works the area walks thru there either in route to the Love Motels and the bars, and lots of girls take laps walking around and thru the area to Botero and the surrounding areas so there is always a lot of foot traffic in the area. Now granted there are some very deplorable looking girls that line this passageway, but there also is a continuous steady stream of girls cruising and walking thru this area. Forgetting that this is not a safe and uplifiting environment, there are contrary to what you think soft tone / looking girly girls there, albeit they won't be dressed to the nine.

So setting aside the enviornment from which you pull a woman from, once your in a bedroom and the clothes are off, how would one know where they were found, whether it be Tinder, Fayboo, or Lleras. And let's take it a step further, imagine being with someone who doesn't negotiate about taxi money, or perhaps have a set menu or rules, and so on like those from Tinder / Fayboo. I remember encountering a candy girl in the alley, totally covered up wearing a dirty jogging outfit, no make-up, and once in the room behold a beautiful naked slim 22 year old Morena with no rules, tight and wet. So if you set aside where the girls are encountered and how they are dressed would you call someone who dumpster dives in El Centro sick, I don't think so. And the thought of paying a Fayboo / Tinder Chica 150 K-200 K plus taxi money for what can be had for a third of that I think would be quite a lure for a cheap charlie.

Albeit Centro is not going to work for most mongers with the reasons being that the monger sticks out like a sore thrumb being an obviuos foreigner and will feel uncomfortable there, may have limited Spanish speaking skills and not accustomed to going with locals versus Fayboo / Tinder Chicas, and no stomach for the filth, grime, stench, zombies, and others in the area makes sense.

It's all a matter of personal preference and tolerance, being able to sort thru things, being able to put aside mis-conceptions, and open to experiencing the unexpected, and new things.

What you think is cheap is actually expensive to me, and vice versa.Your Centro is my lleras parque unfortunately at a higher cost but better environment.

Wise words indeed, I too have been very lucky around Centro considering how much time I spend there. I remember the first time it became clear to me how dangerous it must really be. After having been warned, and after having spent time there for a couple of years or so, one day I was walking along Carrera 47 toward Parque de Bolívar. It was late morning so the street was still fairly deserted. A woman approaching me from the opposite direction abruptly crossed the street before continuing to walk past me on the opposite sidewalk. That is when it hit me. She was genuinely afraid to get within grabbing distance of me. Trust the locals, they know.

I've never been to Cali, but walked a lot in Medellin centro. It can be a different world one block to the next. I do know that there are places I avoid, even in the daytime, and on the other hand places I have walked at night to get back to the metro. I have my favored routes, I stay alert, and have never had a problem. But I still believe it is a dangerous area especially at night. But at least it is the type of area that can keep you alert.

Walking in Poblado, or on la setenta, or on 33rd may give you a false sense of security. You still need to be alert. I've been sized up on la setenta at least once. Guy decided it wasn't worth it, not that I'm intimidating, but combination of surroundings, I didn't look that rich perhaps, or perhaps I had a look that it would be him or me, and even though he would have the advantage it wasn't worth the chance.

Sure, do whatever you please. But some of my fellow travellers here look like ducks in a shooting gallery when I see them in centro. I just don't want that much attention.

Not everyone is going to agree with you that utilizing Tinder or exploring casa's is better than El Centro. Just because you don't like El Centro doesn't mean it's better or worse than Tinder, Casa's, or Fayboo Chicas. And I am surprised quite frankly that El Centro doesn't appeal to you in that it's the cheapest option available for sex in Medellin, and is a "cheap charlie's" paradise.

But for most guys on this board there are numerous reasons it's a no go for them, and understandably so, but at the end of the day it all depends on how guys like to monger. So telling other members not to waste their time should be prefaced with specific reasons for not going there. Such as it's dangerous being an obvious foreigner there, you have no Spanish speaking skills, the quality of the girls can be very poor, too many weird people walking around, it's filthy and dirty. These in essence are the reasons it's a no go for most members, yet for some these are not an impediment. Some guys want things served to them on a platter, kind of like going to a casa and making a selection. Or calling room service, aka having a Tinder / Fayboo Chica come over. While others like to go on the hunt, lurk, and cruise the streets looking for Chicas.

I was not talking about live location.

It doesn't really matter. You location, even if static, can be tracked in 3 ways: 1) via GPS; 2) through the cell your phone is connected; 3) based on your IP address. Ordered by accuracy, from the most accurate to the less one. For example, if I know your IP I can do a traceroute and understand, most likely, in which city you are, and which provider you are using, but I can't guess your exact physical location.

None of this is possible if you give away your number and you communicate with WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, for example, messages are sent through a server, it's not a peer to peer application, it uses the Jabber protocol, so your IP is not known to the client (the other person's phone). On other applications, well it depends. But here everyone is using WhatsApp, so don't be afraid. Just don't click on any links they may send you. That way they can potentially track your IP, but this is not a country off hackers, they are not going to do much with your IP, which is the IP of your local wireless network or the one assigned by Claro or Movistar, depending by the operator you use here.

Full disclosure, I am a Centro rat so no one should consider me an objective source. Real talk, Centro is the low end. Even Colombian web sites like this one disparage it. We talk about it a lot on here but the vast majority of the clients are Colombian laborers who earn very low wages even by Colombia standards. Playing the Centro game is a lengthy and risky treasure hunt. It really is not for everyone, just like Loutron is not for everyone. Albeit for a different reason. If you have experience or grew up in a marginal urban setting you will not feel disoriented in Centro. If you are from a more sheltered background it will be a massive culture shock. Familiarity with street life is in my opinion much more important than the ability to conduct meaningful conversations with people in Centro.

I do stay in Laureles, which I prefer to Poblado, not because La 70, but because it remembers me "El Vedado" in Cuba (very different, but residential). In addition Poblado is on the mountains, meanwhile Laureles is in the valley, therefore Poblado can get "cold" from time to time.

I used AirBnb, but pay attention when you book, be sure you read the notes. Previously I booked a place to discover after I had to pay 100 k for every guest I had. Which I didn't. I just left the place. If you book an hotel, be sure you can bring guests in your room. I heard by some members there is COVID supplement in some cases. I can't confirm it's true, but these people know what you are here for and they try to get all they can from your pocket.

I don't like casas, neither I like the love hotels, so if I have the opportunity I bring the girls at my place. Sometimes I do errands in El Centro, I try one or two girls, and if I like particularly one I invite her to my place a few days later.

I usually go for the best restaurants in the city, doesn't matter if I have to take a taxi. They are cheap, even the best. I take a taxi usually when the ETA is more than 15/20 minutes, otherwise I walk. In Laureles there are many restaurants, and most of them are concentrated in a couple of areas. I have been to Carmen the other day, which is considered one of the best restaurant in the city..
