Posts: 208I am staying in NBO. Life goes on as always. Most people wear a mask on the street. I guess clubs and restaurants keep the new opening hours but since I generally don't go out much late I don't know this for sure.

Posts: 6Nairobi these days any update post new curfew restrictions?
Hello,
I was planning a spontaneous trip to Nairobi before the curfew was tightened to 9 pm (bars) and 10 pm (general).
I wonder if there are any boots on the ground that can confirm (or falsity) if there is still some evening / night activity ongoing in Westlands and near by?
For example, are Brew Bistro and Black Diamond still open, or are most establishments closed now?
Thanks, P.

Posts: 689Nairobi is not hot at night as it is a bit above sea level so AC is not needed. As for mosquitos / flies, it really depends on the apartment, I've found some have them and some not. I always sleep under a net.

Posts: 1452Most of Kenya has no AC much less ABB! I can't even recall ever using it there now that I think of it. Guess what? They don't believe in window screens either! I can't recall ever using those either! HEHE! Actually Woodmere Serviced Apartments had window screens. That's another reason I like them. So bring you fly swatta! You better make sure your electric is paid in your ABB by looking at the pay as you go meter, or you will sitting in the dark wondering why your the only one, hehe! Been there done that. DOH!

In March, what's the weather like. Notice most airbnb have no AC. Will just a fan make it comfortable. Do you encounter fly issues.

Posts: 1452If the owner is not there they usually leave the keys with security at the front gate or some person they paid to let you in the door.

Didn't know if it was a scam or what. Did not contemplate other options.

Posts: 689So you rock up to an airbnb and the host is not there, why would you be so worried about that? Obviously it is inconvenient but unless you are staying slap bang in the middle of a slum you are going to be ok.

Thailand is one country that is known to be operational 24/7. Never sleeps Which province or farm did you end up in LOS where you were locked out and not able to check in for a few hours?

You will be getting off your flight with probably 200+ others, the airport is busy 24/7. Get an uber or airport taxi from the Airport to where you are staying. No problems at all.

Posts: 1074I just booked my flight to nairobi
Booked flight from March to may. Connecting in Europe. My arrival is at night time just like Thailand. How safe is it to arrive at night time? Thailand the host left me stranded for few hours before coming out to security. Was a near nightmare.
