Plenty of other choices for that to even be entertained. Its no different to that garbage price list sangnyc posted a couple days ago.

Medellin is great. I love it here and really enjoy my first time being here. The people are nice, the food is great and everything is cheap.

Since my first post I have booked escorts on a daily basis, except on Thursday and on Saturday, because I met Maria in a bar on Thursday (she is working there), and she took me with her, so there was no need to book one and on Saturday I met another girl! Not really I have seen them in the caribbean, mexico, spain and some other south american countries. But yes their current travel is limited and visa restrictions do limit them to certain countries.

La 33 is a street. Long street. It has some bars and restaurants and lots of other businesses. I've walked lots of it. Just like any other busy street. So if you want to go there, first, where on 33 do you want to go. And why? If you have a particular club you want to go to at night, that is fine. But it's not a place itself, nor an area.

I would suggest you look at the listings that Casacol has on their website. They can be problematic at times in regards to maintenance issues associated with their Units but they are the biggest player in town and have hundreds of apartments listed and typically all of their apartments are listed on Airbnb, but if you rent directly thru them the rate will be lower because Airbnb has hefty fees to use their platform.

Additionally, for a 2 to 3 month duration you can negotiate with them. In other words, if the rental is listed at say $ 800 a month you would offer something less. If your looking in the Laureles area your price range is doable, but for a two bedroom in Poblado it will be harder to find. Also be careful upon choosing the apartment. One thing guys find out upon renting is there is a lot of noise assocaied with the Units, this can be a problem as very few properties have dual pane windows unless they have been retrofitted. So this is a question to ask as having an apartment facing a busy street will not be quiet. Another issue is Air Conditioning, and if you rent a west facing unit in an apartment on an upper floor it may be very hot in the afternoons so it's another thing to consider.

You can set the date range to greater than 30 days on Airbnb to get a monthly discount on many places. I think you won't have problem finding a place in your price range in Laureles. I did a quick search and one of the more expensive listing is a 2 bedroom around $800. The listing number is 23596316.

Yes while I was with one of my Chicas about a year aso she got jacked by pair on a Motorcycle at gunpoint and they didn't mess with me, and if they had pointed the gun at my head and had gone thru my pockets I would of been out an expensive I phone and totally hosed. These things happen so fast they just take everything versus trying to sort thru everything, so I am of the mindset to just be prepared to lose everything. Hence my I phone and credit cards stay locked up, I have a Colombian burner phone, and just enough cash for the days activities. When I need cash from ATM's I venture out very carefully with them, get the cash, and immediately return and lock the cards up. The I phone I have is my lifeline to the USA so it stays locked up. And not only do the rateros on motorcycles rob everyone, thieves at times get on buses, and rob the riders. So nobody should just think it's gringos getting jacked. Moral of the story, don't venture out with anything that would be difficult to replace. And when I hear stories of guys getting jacked of things of value, I don't have much sympathy for them.

I do not have any direct experience with La 33 but I have researched it a little and other BMs have commented about it before. It obviously depends on what you are going for. La 33 is not a place to go looking for prostitutes for sure. It is probably not even a gringo would go hoping to pick up a non-pro because the culture is different in Colombia and the girls go out to hang out with their friends and not meet guys, the meeting of girls and guys is done in a different way there, usually through friends etc, though I am sure that there are also more spontaneous ways like getting a girls number you see at the gym or the mall etc. But in general they do not go out to the restaurants and clubs to meet guys.

La 33 , like La 70 is a place where locals go to dine, drink and dance. With a spattering of a few tourist who want to get a true local vibe. It is a good place to see plenty of eye candy but unless you are at least conversational in Spanish you are not going to mix in very well. La 33 nor La 70 are as gritty as El Centro but then again no place in Medellin is guaranteed to be safe, those assholes that ride around in pairs on motorcycles and one jumps off the back with a gun or knife and robs you have been reported in every neighborhood.
