Posts: 1158Travel from Medellin to the US
I left Medellin yesterday. The tunnel to the airport was closed, probably still is. I used a collectivo taxi and it took just a little over an hour from the Texaco at the end of Las Palmas to the airport. There were four construction areas on the road up the mountain. The driver was really good, trying to go as fast as possible considering the traffic. The line outside the airport was short, but took a little longer with each person than the last time I went through. I have Preferred Access with Copa but it was slower than in the past. I think because of the form the US government now requires in addition to the Covid test. The form is just an attestation that you have received the Covid test or the reason why you haven't. Typical government duplication. I went to a Davivienda ATM near the checkins to get some pesos to take advantage of the good exchange rate. It displayed amounts I have never seen at Davivienda, up to more than 2,000,000. I selected 1,020,000, but then it gave me the option to accept their exchange rate. When I declined, it cancelled the transaction. Entering security, they now require one of those throw-away masks or an N95 mask. My three layer mask from my medical provider was not acceptable. Lucky for me, a lady behind me gave me a throw-away mask. She would not accept payment, very nice of her. No issues boarding or on the aircraft. When deplaning in Panama, there were two people in the jetway questioning everyone. They only spoke Spanish and I didn't understand what the person was asking. I understood Estados Unidos and answered Si. He let me through. No issues boarding in Panama nor going through immigration in Orlando. I'll wait until the end of the curfews and lockdowns before returning.

Posts: 2638You are wrong on this. Colombia is traditionally a country very conservative, who always votes for the Right (sometimes not right, but they are wrong, jajaja). The Mayor of Bogota is a (good) exception.

They will never vote for anything smelling socialist, but the wallet is important and they will not allow easily to be penalized so much.

Posts: 249Same question. Some of them look pretty rigid, and not sure if it's a "just tip security" type thing, or they actually enforce it.

Posts: 3802The Country is already socialist even though they call themselves a democracy, and P4P is actually increasing versus declining.

Interesting topic / issue you have brought up. Seems like a lot of the Colombian Chicas have no problem getting boned when they are on their period "regla", and a lot of Colombian women have told me it's pretty common for the Colombian guys to fuck them while their bleeding, however for most gringos they avoid it.

Also, there is a medicine that a lot of the working girls take to suppress / eliminate their blood flow during their period so they can continue working.

Posts: 6418I've been reading about the social unrest in non western media and it seems very serious. Brings back memories of other countries that became socialist following similar unrest. Could it be possibly that this is the best time to visit Colombia before socialism takes over and p4p goes kaput.

Posts: 1660Weekend quarantine again this weekend. Probably another one this month as well since there is a holiday coming up. Also, some stuff seems to be closing early during the week because of the protests.

Posts: 5Thanks dudes. El Poblado it is. But question. All the "energy living" rentals on Airbnb look like legit places but it seems the "guest policy disclaimers " are brutal. So for those of you who has stayed at that property, is that just a front and is it pretty easy to get people in assuming I will only have one person at a time with me. And Are you guys tipping the front desk security to get around any BS. All info helps. Just want to be sure before I book and thank you.

There are some advantages and some disadvantages to adding them as friends. All depends on the security settings you have and whether or not it matters if everyone you know starts getting friend requests from Medellin chicas.

I generally admire guys who are contented with the least, they seem to be happier.
