Posts: 3802Not A Good Idea To Order Anything Online Before Touching It
I strongly advise against ordering anything online in regards to furnishings and appliances. And it has nothing to do with being able to pay for the items. I have been thru the process, and your better off to physically touch / feel everything your thinking of buying. As an example you may have dimensions for a refrigerator, yet it might not be all that good, let alone the comfort of a mattress. Actually your best bet for appliances will be Exito or Jumbo as they typically discount everything on the weekends, and if in stock can be delivered the next day. As far as furnishings, there are several stores that can deliver within a few days and you can see how comfortable they are. What may fit your dimensions and look pretty in the pictures mat be horribly uncomfortable like a mattress. You could easily within one day of physically shopping at an EXITO / JUMBO and a furniture store like Jamar have everything within a few days. This is just my advice based on personal experience. Also, when buying in person, at some furnishing places, not EXITO or JUMBO, you can negotiate for extras and or discounts, I did this when buying mattresses. Good luck!

Posts: 1945Not many of the girls can speak EN at HM, but its not usually a problem to give a nudge and a wink. Those communications are universal and usually end you up in the bedroom in no time.
The staff though, mainly do speak EN, and of course all the guests do too (nearly all).
WRT to restos near Pqe Lleras. Just use Google Maps. There are doxens and dozens of restos within a few blocks, all walkable. Depends what type of food you want. I doubt my choices would be yours, but I love Zaaika (Indian), Dharma (veggie, great for lunch, near Pqe Poblado).
Chances are good that I will be in Poblado later today. Or centro. Haven't quite decided.

Posts: 8Great advice. Both on the timeline for safety (basically get out of there when the sun sets). And "Why pay more for the same pussy?

Posts: 5607It was the antigen test. I have enough symptoms now that I'm pretty sure it's not a false positive. I plan on getting retested in 5-7 days and hoping for the best.

Posts: 315Ordering household items online
I tried to order a washer and fridge online on the Colombian Homecenter website to have it delivered to my apartment right when I arrive in 3 weeks. I'm currently in California and I used my Chase credit card to pay for the items and I got an error message. I was thinking maybe it's the credit card, so I used my Colombian Bancolombia debit card instead and still got the same message. Is it because I'm in the USA and the website is not properly working like it would if I was actually in Colombia? Anyone here have experience with this? I plan on ordering all the big ticket items (furniture, mattress / bed frame, dining table / chairs) online and in advance of my trip so that when I land, the stuff will arrive within days of each other. I already booked a cheap place nearby for a few days while I gradually furnish the new apartment. BTW, lots of affordable stuff online through the Exito and Homecenter pages. I might even try to open an Exito credit card to get the extra discounts, but probably not since that process could be a hassle.

Was this the antigen test or the PCR, the latter is I think more sensitive, and perhaps you best confirm with one before subjecting yourself to the quarantine from a false positive, as you said no vaccine is 100% effective but at least with respect to avoiding hospitalization and death it's pretty close to that. Also since you are vaccinated you may clear this faster than most, so retesting in 5-7 days is not unreasonable I would think, particularly if you don't have symptoms.
This literally is my big concern about travel there at this time where it's running rampant. It can easily ruin return travel plans.

Posts: 8Thanks for the "Live" Update!
I'll be there in a little over 2 weeks, so I am working on building my Facebook list now. Thanks so much for the hot leads with pricing and details! It really simplifies it for someone like me! I appreciate it, and I look forward to your future updates!

This is very disheartening to hear about. Hopefully you will find a Doctor in Bogota that can deem you cured and / or non-contagious in a short period of time allowing you to return. I got my second dose of the Moderna vaccine in February and upon returning to Medellin I was like a dog in heat riding the Metro when jam packed and banging away at ground zero in all the Love motels.

For guys who have not been vaccinated, I strongly advise against coming to Medellin right now. I know there are some other BM's that are going to cry foul on this, but right now Colombia is surging with more daily infections than ever before, along with the new 'variants' which are wrecking havoc in other Countries, even those with high vaccination rates.
And who knows, there might even be more lockdowns, and I hope not. I'm looking at returning in a few weeks but if they start that again I'm not coming.
Any additional information you can share on what you have to do / go through to be allowed to re-enter the USA would be appreciated by all because your not the only one who's going to be in the same predicament, and hell, it might even be me next.
And again, sorry to hear about this and hope your home soon.
