I would say yes, mostly. Countries famous for providing that type of freelance "Girlfriend for money" scene is the ones that still are rather poor: Colombia, Brazil, Thailand, The Philippines. All rather poor countries, if you are concerned with safety you better do your research as some of these have high crimes rates.

The info you gave me were observations you made in the 1990's from one club in one US city. My statements / advice is still the same: don't expect sex in stripclubs in the most of the modern western world: UK, US, Northern Europe.

Actually, in the US you can get sex in strip clubs, but they make you pay for it. Officially it's not available, but many girls want / need the extra money, therefore, they are open for it.

I only have experience in Kenya & Tanzania: you are guaranteed to fuck all day / all night. So many girls, all loving white people / or foreigners in general. It is way superior to Thailand (which I am very familiar with).

Generally, in my opinion, stripclubs are better and also more upscale as entertainment in countries where bordellos are illegal: UK, US, Scandinavia to some extent. Don't expect sex though. In countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland stripclubs are bad as the customers / girls concentrate to FKKs instead.

Then you have the countries where laws / rules and culture made the stripclubs into bordellos: You party at a nice place, that look like stripclub, they serve alcohol, play music, they might have stripdancers but often a big business is to hook up with a girl for money. This would be my pre-corona list:

Colombia: Medellin, Cartagena.

Mexico: Tijuana.

Brazil: Rio, Sao Paulo.

Asia: Bangkok, Pattaya, Manila / Makati, Angeles City, Cebu.

Europe: Madrid, Malaga, Lisbon (puticlubs) Zurich, Berlin, Vienna, Frankfurt, Berlin (FKK). Moscow, Kiev (stripclubs).

If FKKs have party / dance atmosphere can be debated, but for us based in Europe it is one of the best alternatives along with.

Ease of access: this is so corona related, depending on spread, regulations and if the country has started opening up for fully vaccinated travelers. And where you are based of course.

Yeah, I think it is wise to wait, especially for longer trips, with higher risks / costs involved. One has to also count in that our hobby is very close-contact based and some of the countries like Germany still have strict rules on corona measures that can make the experience less than fun. In 2-3 months this might be better, more relaxed.

I have myself booked some very short trips to destinations with low spread and high vaccination-rates that seem to be stable. I have the EU vaccinationpass with proof of two shots so feel OK.

Good call, I haven't looked much into Spain or Portugal. It does seem that while parts of Europe are starting to re-open a trip isn't worth it. Yet. Looks like Asia and Australia will be closed or complicated for another year. Sigh.
