In Diani, at least in weekend Tandori is open so late that I have never managed to stay there until end. Go first to Manyatta club.
In Tandori and Manyatta there are both girls looking for musungu customer and also girls that got very annoyed if musungu even talk to them.
Diani is always fun place to visit and it is beautiful, and nice and peaceful little village. For me just a weekend is enough.
What is good in Diani is that there curfew is only in theory, those two clubs are open whole nights, and there is music and dance. In Mwtapa / Nyali there is no dance / music in places illegally open after curfew, just drinking. Or has Green Wood opened again?
And in Diani police don't harass you in beach and in street for not having a mask, like in North.
There are several places to get return PCR test, In Diani, in Mombasa town, I believe in Nyali also. Prices are from 7 k to 10 k, I paid 10 k. I would advice to find in advance a place to get the test. Then tell them a day and time of your flight, and what is a time window in your return country that your test need to be valid, like 96 hours or 48 hours. Then they will tell you date and time when to come make test. Results come to your phone in SMS, so no need to visit clinic anymore. It is very stressful try to calculate yourself what is right time to go to test so that your results are fresh enough when you arrive your destination country, and test arrival time is not too late that you don't get results before your flight.
When I came back last time in Nairobi airport, they did not let you even go to check in if you could not show test result.

I do not stay at places like these in general. Highly recommend not doing so.
When I wanted to change my guest they wanted me to pay 9 K. This makes no sense as the reservation is on my name with no of guests as 2. (Does not state the second guests name).
For return PCR test, I did mine at Diani Beach Hospital for 7 K and got results in 24 hours.
Have fun.

Hi All!
I am planning a trip to Diani in October 2021.
Can anyone (local) describe the covid situation in Kenya, Mombasa or Diani?
Are there many infected people?

Many Thanks for your informations.

I've booked a place at most locations but with the ability to cancel up to 1-2 days before.
Have you ever been at Villa Bavaria?
That's one of the 2 bookings I did in Mtwapa along with "Mombasa apartments".
Tried to stay pretty close to Postal road.
Yeah that weekend excursion with 1-2 nights in Diani is one of the things I'm thinking about especially on my bday.
Yeah I'm pretty flexible and can change if really needed, but also I can try to make the most of the situation.
Yeah heard that Luo girls are kinda crazy. And for me planning in Kisumu also is because I read some stuff from Neddy.
But yeah my reports will come in from the moment I have a free hand when I'm down there.
And thanks again, your experienced advice is most welcome.

I don't know if restrictions are gone next year but corona at least is still there, or more of it since nobody gets vaccinated.
You can stay in Mwtapa two weeks and during that make a one night or two night trip to Diani, that is very common, on weekend there is more action. Less restrictions there. You can do even daily trip, some people do that also. Using matatu to go there is relatively simple, even taxi is not so expensive.
Many people like Mwtapa town, then again many people don't. I started to stay there during corona time, and I started to like it. But if there would be no restrictions I would maybe stay again in Bamburi beach and visit Mwtapa just by evening / night to pick a girl.
I don't know so much about Kisumu except many (most?) of my girls are coming from there, luo ladies, tall and slim.
Better keep your plans flexible in case you don't like some place. It is more expensive of course if you haven't paid everything beforehand. And little bit stressful.

And the reason that I haven't written any reports about Thailand is that I didn't even know about this forum when I was there and it feels quite silly to write reports years past.
I have some sense now about how / where I'm going to Kenya now.
Going to start with 6 nights in Nairobi then take the train down to Mombasa and then stay in Mtwapa for de first 2 weeks or so then go down to Cowrie in Bamburi and from there I got interested in going to Kisumu and then back to Nairobi.
Going to stay around 7-8 weeks and ATM I've fixed everything except the visa and plane tickets.
Oh and about restrictions so my hope is that it will be gone when I go next year.

And there are no restrictions for night life, or at least police is not as hard there like in for example Mwtapa.
I like to visit there for a weekend, then I get bored because it is quite small place after all, always same people everywhere.
You can go there first and then move to Nyali, and then visit Mwtapa.
If you really travel to Kenya, you could write some kind of report of your experiments. You haven't written any reports of Thailand for example, just questions about your possible travel destinations.
