Hi bros, I just need some advice on a crucial aspect of mongering. Negotiating prices, from seasoned mongers and experts here. And I thought what better forum to ask than Delhi. The VFM capital. I will give a scenario to be more helpful. Let us say that a particular bird who you are meeting for the first time is a good prospect for 5 k and is also known to offer services at that price (based on info from other mongers) and you don't see much value in paying more than that. Now as we know, all girls will initially quote sky high prices. Lets us say this bird starts with an offer of 12 k. Now what is the best way to negotiate downwards.

1) Do you just start off with your offer of 5 k and hold your ground and say something like " I am sorry, but the max I can offer is 5 k" .

2) Or do you say offer something like 4 k and then sort of like meeting in the middle when she raises a protest, you up your offer a bit and say " ok dear. I will give you 5 k but that's it" . This is sort of a psychological thing where you are sort of giving the girl the impression that you are willing to meet her in the middle where it is a win-win for both parties. But the only doubt I have is, this technique might work in a spa setting, where you can interact with the girl in real so even if she gets upset you may be able to throw a bit of icing on the cake and up your offer a bit if you are desperate enough. But what happens if you are negotiating through text as is mostly the case with indies and SPs, etc. Some of the VFM birds may still talk, but some of the mid range or expensive WGs might just cut off contact and block you immediately if you go much lower than their base rate.

I would like to know your views on this.

I think a good negotiator is one who is genuinely willing to walk out if the other person is OTT. If I mention a figure, I mention it and let them think about it. If they are quiet, I don't chase them with "well? "What do you think?" etc. If they say a hard no, I consider other options. At end end of the day you have to decide what that kitty is worth to you.
