How do members feel about walking around El Centro at night.

The strip of clubs and bars on the mian road in front of Botero is fine. There are generally lots of people around. Also Mercado de La Playa is safe and enjoyable at night.

How do members feel about walking around El Centro at night. I have only heard negative things about the safety, but then the same things are said about Santa Fe in Bogota. (If you stick to the 3 carreras between Cll. 23 & 24 it is pretty safe). Is there a limited area that is safe and enjoyable?

I've been to El Centro and I wouldn't go back during the daytime much less at night time you just asking to get robbed if you go there even the local say so now you going to have some argument from some of the veteran mongers who know the way around but if you're a newbie forget it.

Now that you put it in those terms I am team bus forever! LOL! I can drop two low end loads for the savings of bus transport. But seriously, there is a lot to be said for a no waiting, no hassle door to door transfer.

I don't know about most members here, but when I arrive in town, the last thing I want to do is mess around taking the bus, sharing a ride in a collectivo, and having to transfer to a taxi or bus to get where I'm going. When I arrive, I always grab a white taxi at the airport which costs 90 K which includes the tunnel peaje.

And yes, I know that for 20 K or less, I could get to my destination, but typically when I arrive I've been on a red-eye, and just don't wan to deal with much. And yes, I know that the 70 K savings could cover two low budget fugly fucks in Centro.

Santa Fe is opposite of El Centro at night. Santa Fe becomes alive at night, meaning bars / restaurants, nightclubs, strip clubs, and tons of people walking around and hanging out and even police, but El Centro is dead at night, bars and restaurants are dead, some strip clubs still open but they're spaced out, meaning you ware walking around empty streets with no police present. There are some people out at night in El Centro, but not the ones you want to hang around with.

I was about to be the last living human passenger off the bus at Terminal Norte when the driver stopped me and motioned for me to sit in the front seat. He remembered my asking at the airport about going to The Nutibara. For the remainder of the bus ride I was the only person on the bus, the rest of the bus was completely empty except for the driver. We pulled in behind The Nutti as per usual. I took fotos from inside the 24-hour cafe where the bus ride ended including the taxis I mentioned before. I circled the sign of the restaurant La Raza which is the back entrance to The Nutti, see my previous post for a close-up of that sign.
