I've seen bars in Soi Pothole with mainly Thai guys hanging out and several in the new Treetown gravel area, for instance. Anecdotal maybe, yes, but looks like a game changer to me.

No. You order your first drink and take the test just across the entrance. You can pick your favorite orifice to test, mouth or nose.

Yea Pinup is racist gogo club where only 4 girls go top less. They do not allow Indian people to go inside. I know it is because they do not spend much. But this is racism if they just differentiate by skin color. SinfullyKorean was there inside but they did not let me in as I was Indian. They told me it is members only, while Korean guy got in without issues. I spent 2000 baht in Russian club Eden and 1000 in Glass house. Both were good and non racist.

I told them I can pay 1000 baht for entry. They agreed with 500 Baht, but then Sinfullykorean guy told me it is not worh 200 baht, so I just did not enter.

It is sad it happens personally I've not had any problems entering clubs or Gogos as soon as they see me I'm like a walking ATM. But as noted by Mr. E, in Thailand when you get past the sex as I've experienced the racism that exists goes far beyond just not allowing one into a GoGo. I'm a Chinese American somewhat blessed in being born and raised on the West coast and travel throughout the USA For work have experienced my share coming here to live at times it is never ending certainly has been an eye-opener. It comes in all shapes and forms if not from Thais then from other ex-pats at times I feel no matter which way I turn it smacks me in the face /.

It is not surprising Thais, in general, aren't very educated they follow have a bunch of superstitious beliefs, and stereotypes about others their daily lives seem to be based on rumors more than any other Asian Society I have ever been around. You see it daily if you read the daily ex-pat website it goes far beyond the duel pricing their government has recently ruled on a major case confirming without legal law it is okay To do what they are doing simply because their belief is we are better off. I'm not a world traveler like many of you here but what I do know is what Thailand is all about in general and I have been told and learned from experience Bangkok and Pattaya aren't indicative of what Thailand is all about but the people in this two regent the hate, prejudice, racism is beyond anything I've ever experience even in the USA South.

For me it isn't just Thais because I could pass for any of the other Asian, I've sat at some bars and GC clubs and heard some of the nonsense that comes out of some of the ex-pat owners and their friends that usually act they are the owners themselves and feel threaten in some manner. Because we all look alike in general last thing they seem to figure out is I'm from the USA I get the cold shoulder at times thinking I'm the Thai police once they find out I'm not and I say Chinese the first thing that comes to their mind is I'm a communist CCP I have to tell them NO I'm made in the USA. I've been stopped at some clubs and asked if I'm Thai depending on my mood I might respond but the majority of the time I just smile and act if it was never even asked and walk in.

The funny thing when pointed out " racism " at Pin-Up, although the door guys are Thai the club isn't owned by Thais, It is owned by a European or group of guys I believe this group owns SkyFar, Fehrenhelt, Palace, or Tantra and PinUP!. I've read guys talking about Thais being allowed I don't get out as much as I use to when I do recently I do go to the clubs just not worth the time to me until they open up pre-covid the Thais I usually have run into in GoGos are Thais usually from Bangkok that are spoiled young brats of rich parents or low life wannabe so call Thai mafia soldiers who get their hands on a bit of money then try to act if they are big spenders.

Not everyone is going in the place you mentioned, you don't need to be accepted in these places to enjoy your trip.

People of Thailand can be racist with literally every kind of foreigners, not only with Indians or brown skinned people. Westerners are often called "Farang kee nok" for example, meaning bird shit westerner.

But there is room for every market in that country, so you've got to find in which way or which places you're fairly considered and stick to it, and just skip the places that reject you.

That's what we all do, there are plenty of places I don't even put a foot in when I'm in Thailand.

And as for Thai working girls vs Indian guys, I've met plenty of attractive girls that liked to go with Indian guys, so they are there, you just have to meet them.

Sorry to hear about your experience but as an Indian myself, I must concede that a part of the blame lies with us Indians as well. For every monger like you or me, who burns money at gogo's or ringing bell's at bars while hopping across them & so on, there are (relatively wealthy) Indians whom I've seen haggling with street hookers for a meagre amount of money. At times, they haggle with WG's to allow a group of obese men (often 2-3 or 4) have sex with a single girl, so that the deal becomes lucrative & some money can be saved. Such behaviour doesn't go unnoticed & then we get stereotyped as being super cheap charlies who won't spend money. One Thai girl with whom I was a regular told me that she & her friends always make it a point to charge money upfront if the client happens to be an Indian, as she had a bad experience where the guy didn't pay her the agreed amount after the deed. She was embarrassed when I told her that I have my roots in India as well. Personally speaking, I've never experienced discrimination while being in LOS, except once when a moto bike guy quoted me 100 THB for a drop from my hotel to Terminal 21 (approx 2 KM distance). I told him it's not the going rate as I regularly pay less for the same ride, & he taunted me by saying that Indians often walk across Pattaya & suggested that if I would walk to T21, I'd save a lot of money. I brushed it off as another moto bike guy approached me & quoted usual rates & off we went.

Coming to how one can mitigate it, so I'd suggest that try & dress well. Avoid body odour, remain well groomed, carry yourself with confidence & most importantly, avoid being in large groups as that freaks out most TG's. If you feel that you're being overcharged, simply walk away & look for whatever rocks your boat instead of haggling. I've always been a lone wolf in Thailand & never have I been discriminated on the basis of my skin / ethnicity. In fact, I am still mates with most of the girls I met & I made some great friends with some of the guys as well, who were my drink mates during my stay.

In my opinion you don't even want to go where you are not welcomed they going to take your money and treat you like shit. In my experience glass house was the most welcoming on WS followed by windmill but I never been there because I don't want to get tested. Soi 6, LK metro and treetown are all welcoming to us also candy shop, insomnia and pattaya beach club and great for freelancers especially pattaya beach club. Instead of spending thousands buying lady drinks you can buy yourself a table and a bottle. But in my opinion TF is the best game in town right now.
