Never had a girl check in at the front desk. Always I ask them to come to my room directly. Usually I stay on floor where you do not need key to access that floor.

Depends upon the hotel you live and the access to floors it has. Delhi you have many hotels where you can have the girl come up to you room without the access cards. But most of the 5 stars will need access for her to come up.

Its always safe that she goes to the reception and then come up or you go down and then bring her up.

I have not got any issues so far, have tried couple of times in regular Oyos and townhouse. I assume that's how it works and mongering is an activity which always carries risk. I won't suggest to use a fake ID and get into bigger issues.
