Much of ths is post covid turmoil and it's still going to be another year before the situation stabilises. I don't expect the bars to have a good high season as there won't be a great wave of visitors returning yet, many have to make their plans a year ahead and therefore covid weighed heavily as a risk so they might have abandoned their trip.

Then there are the girls who were looking for alternate work online during covid, I think that sites like Onlyfans have peaked in popularity this year and are now facing decline as people are able to travel. So as there's less money online then more will return to the bars. But not soon enough.

China is still under lockdown so you won't see their tourists and Indians are coming in to replace them. They won't feed the same amount of money into the city.

And finally, don't forget the global recession due to covid and the russian invasion of Ukraine, people are going to spend less and holidays are often the first luxury to go or else cut back on. But eventually the recession will drive more girls back to the bars as companies cut back and there's less work.

As ever the world changes and everyone has to adapt. From what I have seen in the first six months of this year is Pattaya is on it's way back after a heavy blow and this high season will not be as good as many.

I'm still returning! After all, everywhere else has been impacted in much the same way. I have not been back to Germany for a long time and may not return for even longer as the costs have doubled and service is down. Don't forget that Pattaya at 66% of normal is still far better than many other places at this time.

The reset will happen. Bars are a commodity business. A commodity business is heavily influenced by the business cycle. In the long run commodity businesses break even. People make money in commodity business by buying at the low point and selling at the top. The current business environment is headed downward. After the end of "high season" you will see a lot of bars close when they realize that they did not make enough money to live through another "low season". The girl problem is a whole different issue. As some have pointed out before it is a combination of demographics and increased prosperity in Thailand. Young girls have more options than before. So Pattaya will change. Your guess is as good as mine as to what those changes will be. China is a big wild card. If the Chinese go crazy and start a war over Taiwan all of Asia will suffer.

What is needed is also the return to more affordable air tickets. They have been sky rocketing +30% at least. Add the western problems, inflation, utilities +50/100% and people seriously question whether take holidays. No matter how cheap LOS is. It is still a minimum 2-3 weeks to be away and overseas.

Because you still got to pay rent. Girls are not on a payroll. So you buy on a "promise" of possible revenue from the previous owner. Without the tools he had (aka the ladies).

So you basically pay for some stools and furniture. Maybe a soundsystem. Its crazy. But many guys fell into this scam.

Too many bars. No tourist. So all those bars are now fighting over the girls they need in their bars to get those few customers inside. One barowner led the way and start to offering 1 K a day to ladies and guess what? With 3 times the minimum wage by just SITTING in a bar? There is zero incentive for chicks to fuck. So yes. Some still do fuck. But more and more don't need the cash.

However, I have different dynamics with my girl. We have been together for 6 years and have already done it plenty in our country. It will just be the first time in Pattaya.

An Indian tech worker making $200 K US is in the top 0. 1% of tech workers, is most likely a director level or higher, and they don't slum it in Pattaya. Even at $2300 it raises the country rank to 142nd (nominal) and 125th (PPP). The Indian grande and haute bourgeoise probably shouldn't take the proletariat / plebeians for granted, historically such extreme structural income inequality does not work out well for a society's bourgeoise / patrician class in the long run.

I have worked with TCS, Wipro, Cap Gemini, and many smaller labor providers for close to 20 years. Any US / EU firm who knows has any clue is not paying median contractor rates of over $32/ hour for Indian outsourced tech labor, TCS / Wipro / Cap Gemini / etc have min gross margin requirements of 42-52%, which means that all in labor costs of the median IT contractor is around $12-17/ hour.

Given the amount of Indian mongers that seem to be on the street. I don't see any type of proportional representation in the Go-Go's, Soapies, or even the Soi 6 bars. Given my anecdotal observations and conversations with working ladies, the Indian mongers spend very little $$. Using your "Big Mac" index, spending 5 K Baht in a Go-Go (Barfine's included) for a ST is the equivalent of $350-$550 in PPP.

Hey people. I'm a long-time visitor of this forum though probably posting for the first time!

I and my girlfriend will be visiting Pattaya in November. I have visited Pattaya in past years but this will be the first time with a female partner.

She's the adventurer type and doesn't mind adult entertainment so I have the following questions:

1. Are there any Adult Entertainment venues (nude clubs, dances, sex shows etc) that are welcomed towards couples and safe for girls?
