Hi, hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Its 41 days until my first trip to Sao Paulo and can't wait. I've booked an apartment next to the MASP but I can't check in until 3 pm but unfortunately my plane is supposed to land in Sao Paulo at 6 am from the UK.

I've emailed the apartment to see if I can pay extra to check in early but someone else is staying there the night before so I can't. I don't want to be walking around Sao Paulo with my money, passport etc so not sure what to do in the meantime, anyone got any ideas.

I've thought about either hanging around the airport, getting food and trying to find somewhere to sleep or booking a room or sleep capsule inside or near the airport for a few hours.

What would you lot suggest?

I arrived in Sao Paulo yesterday and visited Enjoy Spa ....

You should try all clinicas around the area. They are owned by the same owner and some girls work between them. The owner pull the reviews from GPG so you no longer see them. They were once moved to another forum but last time I looked, that forum was down.

I usually don't tip. If you read reviews, they never mention tipping either. I have never seen locals tip when I went to local restaurants. Their setup is also not helpful for tipping. I tip occasionally when I feel the girl goes extra mile like going over time. Most expensive restaurants will have tip included in the bill. I had udon for lunch today. I think second item is tip. 10% service charge is also common.

Since it will be your first time going to Scandallo, I suggest you go before 7 PM and the extrada is 300 all consumable. Find a seat in the restaurant and have dinner there. Just remember some portion of the R500 entry fee is for the consumption of food and or drinks.

When I went (after 7 PM) it was 500 R Entry of which 300 R was for consumption which mean the real entry portion is 200 R. Try to spend all of your food or drinks consumption amount. Try not to give the "House" extra revenue. Make sure you verify the consumption amount with the Front Desk when you enter and track / verify your food and or drink amounts when you order as you draw down the available consumption amount. Also, if you lose track of your available consumption ask your server / bartender or the front desk and they can tell you your remaining consumption balance so you can determine your burn rate and determine if you have to pay out extra funds if you go over your consumption amount.

Correct, 2028 Bar Augusta is a different club 5 min walk to Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel. Casarao American Bar, longer walking distance but in opposite direction.

It is open tonight. That block is an anomaly. Most boates and clubs on that block are open or appear to be open but without customers so far.

I just couldn't get warm enough in there. Sounds like it's a problem at hotels all over town. I decided to deal with the issue in the future by never going down there again during their winter months. I've stuck with that approach and its worked out fine.

Finally, It took me concluding my last trip to SP / Rio to realize that I don't like visiting during the Brazilian winter months as well. Cold hotel rooms / Apts without heat are a deal breaker for me. If it happens to rain, which it often does during winter days and nights, it pretty much guarantees a lack of any solid amount of action at a majority of the venues. From now on when I choose to visit Brazil in the the winter, I'm headed straight to the north, northeast or amazonas where the weather never gets cold.
