I was there in 2023 and 2022. Both times were deserted especially 2022. You could even be in the main temple and still have long periods of solitude. I collided accidentally with a Khmer holiday and then it was packed but other than that, empty.

I used to rent a good mountain bike. $3-4 a day. Last time I rented a scooter. Nothing special but totally worked at $9 a day. If you have a big head, bring your own helmet. I couldn't even buy a helmet in Siem Reap that fit my head.

I use Tuk Tuks almost exclsuively. I'm too old and value my life. Plus I got a few guys I can rely on.

I have not been to the Temples yet. I may go out this week to get a yearly pass, hopefully for free. I was there during the Covid lockdown, the whole park was mine. Based on my prior visas I should be able to get the free one.

I did the "massage" tour aka the Chicken Shacks. Quoted $50, they don't "yam yam". No yam yam? Well no Boom Boom. That is a major problem here for us oldies, got to gobble the lobster so it wakes up. Don't forget the Tuktuk guys get a commission so be firm with your desires. A chicken shack tour should run about $12 depending on the ones you go to. The nicer ones are up at Khmer Pub Street. I haven't hit the KTVs yet.

Nothing worth a hoot on Sok San. There are some on Pub Street late.

I will be here virtually full time starting January.

Attn Dabbers: There is some good dabs here. Far better than Thailand.

I've been back here a few days now.

Mongering is limited although there is plenty of slappers in the foreigner bars on Sok San. By skeeze I mean old ratty faded etc. You may find a gem. Rates I hear are $50, negotiate, it's a buyers market unless you are a sex addict.

Pub Street has walkers.

Temple Bar was dead the night I was there.

Khmer pub Street has hottie.

The tuk-tuk guys are relentless and desperate for custom. As soon as I hear "Hello Papa" I smile, look them in the eye and say "no weed no ketamine no ladyboy no lady boom boom, no massage".

My rule of thumb is $1 short ride, $2 long ride. It's a judgement call, foll your map, download Grab or another transport app.

DO NOT buy weed from tuk-tuk guys or in any of the bars around SokSan road and Funky Lane. Do not smoke weed around Pub Street.

Best weed in town is at Lunar Park Bar off Concrete Drain Road.

As has been said before Siem is not a mongering destination but there is stuff there. I try to concentrate on backpacking Euro girls. Myself.

Yes but it was pretty dead while I was there I didn't see many girls. It was earlier in the night though, around 9/10 pm, so maybe that's why.

Spent three nights in Siem Reap over the weekend. It's true as other have said it not really a mongering destination, but there is still fun to be found and had. I was able to get a date with a 21-year old hotel receptionist off Tinder. She had the weekend off so I took her out all three nights and then back to hotel for some fun and the only damage was food and drinks, maybe $50 per night. I don't know if I got lucky or what but I seemingly got more matches and and girls willing to meet off Tinder in Siem Reap than I do in Phnom Penh.

Another highlight was Temple Sky Lounge. It's on Pub Street, on the rooftop of the big Temple club. Many obvious pro-girls there, some ladyboys, and many more just normal girls there to have fun and maybe find a new foreign boyfriend. Definitely a place worth stopping by if you're looking for action. It's no Pontoon in Phnom Penh but was the best freelancer spot I've been to so far in Siem Reap.

If you are a westerner, go to the lunar Park and you won't get ripped off on weed.

The bars along Sok San Road seem to be good for finding companionship. There is an air of desperation right now. I was repeatedly approached by women begging for my company, saying they had not had a customer all week. I stopped in a couple of massage shops for a simple massage and quickly found myself covered in titties -- not just two, but four or six. The chinese tourism traffic is entirely gone.

Ill be over to Siem in August and in all probablity setting up my residence there. I was there all through Covid and its a great place, albiet a bit lacking for mongers. But, with tourists still gone, now is my chance to grab a fab deal on a villa.

From conversations with a Khmer bar owner / acquaintance of mine I found out that for breaking minor laws around weed, barang are pretty much not to be hassled by the police unless you are blatantly disrespectful like smoking it in public and being a nuisance. So if the tuk-tuk offers you weed, it's legit but it's probably Cambodian outdoor weed. Just press him a little further and you can find the place (s) where they sell better stuff.

I spent about a week in Siem Reap, it's the low season rght now, so not too busy, but tourists are starting to show up at the temples.

I was solo, so had some interesting interactions. First thing I noticed was when I was walking around, I would get harassed by the massage ladies, I'm talking they would cross the street to start offering me massages and openly offer HJ and "I'll make you very happy. " one was pretty blatant so that she began trying to push me into her shop, I had to keep my hand on my wallet as I thought they may be going for a pickpocket. I found the really agressive lady to be very old and unattractive. This was on night market street, but I made a note to come back to the area later.

But a few hours later I decided to try out one of the other massage places that seemed to have a cute girl sitting out front, the lady at this spa had previously mentioned having a room with aircon (this one is across from pub street, just north of the 7/11 on sivutha). I told her I wanted full body massage and asked for the cute girl. Massage was pretty standard but on the flip she asked the question. I said I don't want HJ, as I can do that at home. She said she couldn't fuck in the shop, but I asked for BBBJ, she obliged for $15. She didn't seem that experienced but she put in good effort and let me CIM in so I was happy.

The next afternoon I tried something new (for me) in siem reap, broke out wechat and the "people nearby" function. Found at least four profiles of women who appeared to be vietnamese. Asked for $150 for the night, I said I only need 2 hours, she countered with $120, but I knew this was all a bluff so I took my time negotiating over the course of a few hours and I got her down to $60 by nighttime, probably too high, but never been with a cambodian before. Asked her to meet me at the bar near my hotel to make sure she was who she said she was, when she showed up she seemed reasonably like her photos, I also asked her to check her ID to make sure she was 23, it all checked out so I took her to my hotel.

Tried with another lady the next day, this one said she was vietnamese. As others said, SR is not for mongering, but there is some mediocre action to be had. During the low season the locals seem to be particularly desperate for business, so you can try your hand.
