This is even more common in Bangkok.

I have a hard and fast rule for myself, any flight more than 5 hours I will only take it if I have aisle seat. Takes a lot of pre-planning well ahead of time to adhere to this rule but it makes flying much easier. I'm tall so I need that leg room that an aisle seat provides. Plus I get up and move around a lot.

There is a recent emergence on this thread of a group of High Price Purists who are collectively authoring and endorsing an idea that we could call High Price Purity. Let me see if I can briefly Straw-Man the argument- 95% of Pattaya girls are not worth wasting one's time with, the 5% that are acceptable are to be found primarily in top tier GoGo Bars and that the seemingly high prices they command are worth it considering that all the rest is untouchable refuse.

Corollary to this is the idea that any girl that falls within the ST 1500-2000 range is sure to be unattractive and that the Monger in question has low standards and should be ridiculed. I find it interesting, on LATAM threads there usually is pressure from the board to brag about securing low prices with mongers gaming their reported prices down to impress the Peanut Gallery. Here (for the moment) it seems to be now reversed- with a pressure to report higher prices indicating status, taste, and discernment. I will not speculate about what is generating this dynamic, but will at least agree that most of the girls in Pattaya are completely no-go (to be polite), but that means little since there are just so many women.

I'm on the west coast and it ends up being about the same amount of time for us crossing the pacific and connecting primarily through Japan, the trip ends up being around 30 hours to BKK. In addition, it consists of three flights for me as I don't live near an international hub.

Exactly. And the prices asked from tourists are one step above what is asked from the locals. A women that would be happy with 1000 baht from a thai customer, want 1500-2000 from a tourist. And that is why you just say that you pay max 1000, or 1500 for a younger and cuter one. Check the sideline webpages. See what thais are paying. I have seen several gogo-class girls receiving customers for 30 minutes a 1000 baht. 1500 for 60 minutes. Older ladies get less.

My understanding as to the prices at go- go's was because of the bars paying girls on 10 - 30 day contracts, they have to increase the barfine and sometimes require you buy the girl a required number of lady bar drinks to complete the deal. That's the bars break even pricing. That said, the 8 - 10 rated girls have always been able to command higher ST and LT fares.
