Well, yes, it's a risky business, but the authorities aren't doing it for the safety of sex workers. They are fighting prostitution to keep their electorate (read: housewives) happy. What is clear is the number of lives ruined by LE stings along with income and taxation and the enabling of police corruption: a classic case of unintended consequences. That would include planes traveling internationally with men taking their money and spending elsewhere than the USA economy, and many relocating with further loss of economic investment, spending and the multiplier effect.
