I think there is a misunderstanding along the line. When you see these types of commentaries from someone that lives in or frequents a place, it is NEVER accompanied by you are messing it up for me (at least that I have ever seen). It is more trying to hip visitors to the game.

If I told you to go on the airline's website at 2 am and you will more than likely find your ticket price cheaper, would that be spurious and condescending? Would you insist you should be paying more because the plane you are flying on cost the airline millions of dollars so it can not be compared to a taxi ride because the taxi only cost thousands?

Expats have an ingrained way of doing things and it is usually not dependent on what a short time visitor does or does not do. For instance a buddy of mine gives a few chicks a salary of 3000 or 4000 baht monthly and they come stay over whenever he wants. You going to a gogo to buy 10 lady drinks or ring the bell is doing nothing to affect his routine. I have more free chicks around this place than I have time for. The last thing I am worried about is somebody coming in to town and their actions causing me not to be able to get paid chicks or my pockets to be emptier because of it.

Sorry Mr. E, not sure if this is what's happening here but if you are taking my observations personally, they are not intended to be and yes totally with you where advice is given that helps newcomers navigate unknown waters. This is a never-ending topic of conversation Paolo. I've been to Pattaya a number of times but accept I have little or no real understanding of the expat scene there. It would appear accommodation, food, massages, time with the ladies are all considerably cheaper than Bangkok. You could then imagine those living there long term should be happy but alas not always. I thought fuck that place on soi Buakhao that overcharged me at 200 baht like a dumb tourist that I am, I'd rather go a little further and found the exact same quality at 150 and save a lot of money (100 bahts gets me at least 2 meals in Pattaya) .

So I look all along 3rd road (from Pattaya klang to Pattaya Tai) and couldn't find any below 200.

Then I took it far down soi17 until some places I've never even been to although I used to live in that soi in the past and couldn't see any massage place below 200.

Eventually the heat made me change my plans as I got tired, so I thought fuck that 150 massage that I cannot find, I 'd better go back in the confort of my air-conditionned room and get a good free Coffee there instead (these are the best coffees).

Once there I realised you made me save 500 baht (at least 12 good meals in Pattaya), so thanks again, it was a very usefull piece of information that you shared.

LOL. You are right. I went looking the other day because some friends are coming into town. It does appear that they are all minimum 200 baht now. So it looks like there are only 2 tiers of shops these days, 200 and 300.

I was at TreeTown eating with some buddies yesterday. I was shocked to see a buddy that lives on the dark side come up and go to the same stall that we had gone to. He never comes to this side of town any more and usually just stays in the house. Turns out he only came for the crispy pork and kale. Just like massages. Everybody knows that getting a massage on Beach Road or Walking Street will be 300 baht. Go back to Soi Buakhao and they will be 200 baht. Go a little further to where I live off 3rd Road and you will pay 150 baht. Who would get bent out of shape over someone telling them where they could get the same massage for cheaper.

If I was in France or Japan I would not expect to be getting a chick for $40 all night, but I am in Thailand where I know what good money $40 is. I have a chick that works quality control at the Honda factory. Today was her day off, but she went in to work. For working 11 hours on her off day she gets 2000 baht. But finding a massage a cheaper price based on location is far cry from the claim that you can fuck the exact same girl for less money. I question that assumption. You can always fuck any girl for less money than another girl. But I would like to see you present and example of how you can fuck the exact same girl for less money.

I am not saying that you can actively do this. But it happens passively more than a little bit. Everyone knows that gogos are the most expensive places to find a chick. There is nothing special about any chick in a gogo. If there was, then you could point these same chicks out when they are not in a gogo and going about their daily routine. They do not hide inside in the day like vampires and only go out at night when the gogo opens. Nobody keeps them caged up except when the gogos open.

Thing is that the same chicks go to different venues. If you get her at the gogo then you could be paying 5000. It may seem like nonsense until it actually happens. Take a look in the Costa Rica, Sosua, and Cartagena threads for exact examples of this nonsense as you claim it to be.

This time last year, I was picking up girls for two or three hours for around 200.000 to 300.000 COP without fuss. Overnight was only around 400.000 to 500.000 COP.

I have been here for two nights now, and now all the girls are quoting their fees in USD only. Some have the audacity to charge 100 USD for un rato. But I have noticed the standard one hour at 100 USD and then overnight is an additional 400.000 COP on top.

The market here in Cartagena has been completely ruined now compared to last year and previous few years. Street girls shouldn't be charging 900.000 COP plus for an overnight.
