I am looking for airline tickets from Washington DC to Brasil (still undecided between Rio or Sampa) next week. Due to mobility issues, I can only travel business class.

IAD to GIG with one stop in GRU =$2750 RT (cheapest I even seen!

IAD to GRU, direct, same flight as above:$15,000 RT!

Who green lights these fares? This is so ridiculous! I am sure someone would say to buy the flight to Rio then depart in SP. Issue is the airline (United) would cancel the rest of the ticket if you don't continue the trip.

One more thing: get a second hand UNLOCKED Pixel 4a+ phone (bands work everywhere) (or a Samsung) for about $US140 and make sure you have a paid and reputable VPN like NORD regardless of what carrier / SIM / eSim you use and buy a $US6 protective case. If I were to go to Rio for a month, and use Seeking for a majority of my meetups, since I think I would get bored with the termas for a whole month, what kind of experience can I expect.
