I am planning a longish trip to the DR. I work remote and can get away with living in the DR while doing so.

I am in my late 30's, white, with slightly above average looks. I say this because when I set my Tinder location to DR I get so many matches with hot young women between 20-24 it's absurd. Practically all were willing to have video calls with me and they were definitely into me. After talking to more than 10 it only seemed that one or two were maybe working girls. I even had a hot 20 year old say that we are going to have a baby together LOL.

My question is: if it's that easy in the DR why even monger in the first place?

But isn't that a champagne problem? Having one of these smoking hot 20 year old want to have a baby with you? Have fun buddy!

Place was as quiet as a church. It also provides a good breakfast. The location is great close to everything. I booked on priceline checki-and was smooth.

I walked past this hotel a few times and wondered if it is quiet at night? Sometimes the street vendors BLAST music late into the night. Were you able to have decent sleep or is it noisy at night?

I use Nelly and Budget.

I used to use Nelly exclusively but I presume they had ownership changes. The POP franchise closed down and one time, the idiots wanted to sell me insurance, despite the fact that I have always declined it with a long track record. Once again, presumably to make more money on shitty cars. I got pissed off as it was like 3 AM in the morning. I declined and have not gone back since to rental. I have a bunch of guys. Who do the Uber thing and they come to pick me at the airport but a rental allows you the freedom undoubtedly. Granted that you need an extra pair of eyes to check, which motorcyclist is trying to pass on your right. I have heard of some horror stories but they are only stories. Nothing ever happened to me in terms of getting blackmailed for money after a hit.

Found a nice hotel on EL Conde Hotel Staff very friendly Novus Haven Holdelpa. It is next door to a small Casino. About 50 bucks a night for a nice room breakfast included. I was surprised at all the people on the street for a Sunday night. I saw 3 decent hookers in Pacos. They were 7's which is unusable for Pacos. I was surprised how lively the streets were. Almost all Dominicans families.

They got me at the airport years ago. A kings ransom. Do you know any honest and good rental spots in the capital, or just overall. I know by this point you rent from a smaller place due to your experience. Any bit helps-thanks.

If you are getting full coverage I do not think there is any fleecing to do. They do not make money on renting the cars; they make money by selling the insurance. I never get the insurance so it may be easier to fleece me for $60 now and $100 next time because of all the road hazards. If paint gets chipped off by a rock then they want to charge.

A couple times ago 2 companies that I had reservations with in Punta Cana tried to charge me more than the reservation. I use Nelly and Budget. Thing is that rental car companies are not the companies you are thinking they are. They are actually individually owned, not corporate stores. They only license thr name from the big chains, so they do not operate as they would anywhere else. For instance the Avis and Budget have the same owner. If you have a complaint and call the chain, they have to get in touch with that local owner and see what is going on. 9 times out of 10 things are going to go the way of whatever the local owner said because it is his business, not the corporation's.

This would be great! I'm also flying in next month to SDQ and flying out of SDQ. I have a reservation for a small car from national rent a car with a a quote for $970 for 8 days, which is just ridiculous. I guess they are forcing tourists to get all kinds of coverage for a rental. I am also planning on making another reservation with a different company as when I went there last year with a reservation, the company I booked with had no rentals available and was forced to rent a car the same day with no reservation from a different company and was fleeced.

Flights into POP are ridiculous. Santiago is much closer than Santo Domingo.

More ridiculous is that the Spirit airlines flights in and from Santiago arrive / depart at 2-3 am in the morning. You either stay awake all night or crash in Santiago.

Flights into POP are ridiculous. Santiago is much closer than Santo Domingo. If you go that way, I can give you the number of the gentleman who drove me from Santiago to Sosua. Friendly guy, fair rates and a modern, Air conditioned car. Charged me 4000 DOP each way.

Google doesn't do anything with those coordinates either.

My map skills are minimum. I simply plug these coordinates into google maps and got "Google Maps can't find 18 d31 m12.8 and 69 d53 2. 7 W". I tried plugging this in a number of ways with the same result.

A street address (or even the name of the nail place) would help those of us who are computationally challenged!
