I will be working from home for the next few months and I am considering working from a mongering destination. I figured I would get an AirBNB for a few months. The advantage of doing it in the Dominican Republic is it has much lower costs that in a developed nation. The term is not third world. The term is developing nation.

The best deal you can get is away from the airport. Especially at SDQ. Many of those smaller businesses would love to have a transaction with you with more reasonable prices and conditions.

2 ways to look at it. By the same token if you go somewhere off airport those smaller mom and pop places think they have you by the balls so will jack up the price because there is no competition around. I had to have one of those companies take me right back to the airport after trying to rip me off. You never know what you are going to get down in that country.

Most tourist needing a car get off the plane and jump in the first Rent-A-Car line that looks familiar. Dominican view these tourists as fish on a hook. They plan on getting you before you leave or when you come back. They attempted to charge me for a lump on the tire.

Much respect to you for leaving and not going back. They normally wait the gringos out because they know we have more money than patients during a vacation.

I am planning a longish trip to the DR. I work remote and can get away with living in the DR while doing so.

I am in my late 30's, white, with slightly above average looks. I say this because when I set my Tinder location to DR I get so many matches with hot young women between 20-24 it's absurd. Practically all were willing to have video calls with me and they were definitely into me. After talking to more than 10 it only seemed that one or two were maybe working girls. I even had a hot 20 year old say that we are going to have a baby together LOL.

Place was as quiet as a church. It also provides a good breakfast. The location is great close to everything. I booked on priceline checki-and was smooth.

I walked past this hotel a few times and wondered if it is quiet at night? Sometimes the street vendors BLAST music late into the night. Were you able to have decent sleep or is it noisy at night?

The POP franchise closed down and one time, the idiots wanted to sell me insurance, despite the fact that I have always declined it with a long track record. Once again, presumably to make more money on shitty cars. I got pissed off as it was like 3 AM in the morning. I declined and have not gone back since to rental. I have a bunch of guys. Who do the Uber thing and they come to pick me at the airport but a rental allows you the freedom undoubtedly. Granted that you need an extra pair of eyes to check, which motorcyclist is trying to pass on your right. I have heard of some horror stories but they are only stories. Nothing ever happened to me in terms of getting blackmailed for money after a hit.

Found a nice hotel on EL Conde Hotel Staff very friendly Novus Haven Holdelpa. It is next door to a small Casino. About 50 bucks a night for a nice room breakfast included. I was surprised at all the people on the street for a Sunday night. I saw 3 decent hookers in Pacos. They were 7's which is unusable for Pacos. I was surprised how lively the streets were. Almost all Dominicans families.
