Medellin is indeed very hot this year, during my visit in Aug, this year, it was 31 degrees every day. No way on earth I could have stayed in Medellin without an AC. All of South America is quite hot this winter.

Barcelona Casa seems like interesting find. Which case is it closest to?

31° isn't particularly hot, especially with the low humidity and the altitude. Of course it depends on what you're acclimated to.

Although these days air conditioning is usually a feature in the places where I stay, I had no issues at all in August without air conditioning. By 9 pm every night, temperature drops to 16-18° see, perfect for sleeping.

As a bonus, for those who stay in Laureles or other western areas, every afternoon there's a strong breeze coming down the mountain. It does an excellent job of keeping the temperature bearable.

Here is a post I found on You Tube about it. It does not say he was scoped unitl they do autopsy, of course, but from all indications, a 44 year old man FJ Martin went missing several days ago and was found dead in his room points to scoping. Again, this is not my opinion, I am just posting the information. I suppose when they gather more facts and do autopsy, then more news will be posted online.

Almost daily 4 PM rainstorms are about to begin. That will be the end of the heat wave until late December. I was in Milla de Oro a couple of nights last week. There are a lot more foreign tourists coming here these days than I remember.

Its definitely been hotter than hooker in heater here the past month.

Unfortunately it's global warming, not only here, but everywhere it seems like in the world.

And yes, unless your totally in the shade, AC is a must.

It's always been dangerous here, however I don't think Colombia has gone to hell and become a lot more dangerous over the past decade.

And I think that a large percentage of the guys who get jacked up could of avoided the situation if they had been more cautious, albeit a lot of times are thinking with their little heads when going with Chicas.

And I agree with you that guys getting jacked up is way more prevalent than reported, but again believe getting jacked up can be reduced if using some common sense and taking precautionary measures when going with Chicas as has been suggested by other posters.

Unfortunately you can never let your guard down here as you can get jacked up when you least expect it.

Yes, guest friendly. Your guest needs a Cedula. If you booked the stay for 2 people, they won't charge you extra. Don't know what happens if you booked for 1 person.

There are at least 4 casas within a 5 minute walk of Barcelona. Excuse my spelling Zandly, Sexy Amicas are the best ones.

I don't find that interesting. It's pretty well known that a lot of these guys are married and don't want people to know what happened, too cool and don't want their people to know and / or just too embarrassed or just don't have the time or interest to make anything out of it. I know guys that have been drugged and robbed and still continue to come to Medellin. At this point, I think dudes just charge it to the game and are willing to take the risk.

Hey brothers, I am just posting this so we are all Vigilant and stay safe while visiting Medellin, but the unthinkable happened again:

Just saw this post from a day ago on Facebook, but this FB user below posted that an American was found dead in a hotel room due to being Scoped by a girl here. What is strange is that the hotel was not aware for 3 days he was dead. How on Earth did security let her slip out? I stay at the Royal Du Parc Hotel and security is very tight, with girls being required to furnish ID and me getting a call asking if everything is okay before she is allowed to leave the premises.

I have been coming here since 2010 and it has never been this hot. I normally hate air conditioner's but now it is a must here now.

Anyway while taking my normal walk in Centro I was given a card for*.

Barcelona Casa CR 47 53-42. It was early in the day and I had not taken a shower yet. I would never take a girl in that state but I thought I could just go to check out the talent and pay the viewing fee and return later if someone strikes my fancy. The sign said 5 K fee if you did not partake in the festivities. I bought a water for 3 K and watched about 10 girls parade for me. 4 were very doable { *a 7 is my standard }. Before I* left I found out the fee for one hour is 70 K. I was very surprised as the lowest I have seen is 80 k and most others are 90 K for the hour. I did not ask about 30 minutes as I'm a hour guy. I guess buying a drink is good as was not asked for the 5 K fee as I went my way.

Please boys stop begging to pay 600 K. You guys are starting to blow my mind.

Sorry to hear what happened to you bro. Few years ago dudes getting scolped in Col was a very rare topic, now every day we're reading this incl deaths, so fellas we need to be more diligent. Obviously the Colombian Govt or Police isn't cracking down on it so it's up the us Gringos to find a way to prevent it. I was going to make this post on Best Practices, but I figured I'd reply it to your comment since you mentioned it:

These Rules will keep you alive, keep you from getting drugged or Scolped. Nothing is guarantee but your chances of encountering those issues are highly reduced:

1. Don't get drunk in the bars, clubs, or in the streets alone. If you're with friends it's usually OK.

2. Drugs, drugs, drugs, THIS is a choice that increases your chance of being among troubled chicas (especially if they do drugs also which is many of them). You made your own bed at this point.

3. We've all read about covering our drinks. Not leaving our drinks unattended. This one's on you.

4. Leave the gullible, everything is like a flowery pink paradise, I'm a rich (poor at home) gringo while in Medellin mindset behind.

5. Pretend you're hanging out or passing through the most dangerous hood in the US. Be observant of your surroundings, and you can do this without being paranoid.

6. Have a system. I've read some fellas do not bring girls to their main spot, or have a spare room, some leave their cash or main cellphone in safes, and only be outside with small amounts of cash or 1 credit card, or what they're willing to lose. This is what I do. I use the MotelNow app, which I learned about in a post here; basically lists all the love motels in Col you can use to bring girls for as cheap as 20 k pesos for few hrs. No excuses.

7. This may sound silly, but don't use fingerprints to unlock your phone, I don't know why this was invented bc anyone can drug / dose you and unlock your phone w your finger. Memorize a password duh. Same with your banks and money apps, do not have them auto-login or password saved. Every single person that have had money stolen while drugged is due to those. Come on, technology does make us lazy, and it's ok while at home on our day to day jobs, busy lifestyles. But if we're traveling to very poor countries with aggressive hawkers and gangsters everywhere, of which many wish to melt you for $20 why would you not adjust at least while there? I've worked in IT support and even in the states most consumer hacks / breaches which arent really hacks are due to lazy users or folks that auto-save every password in their browsers, phones, etc. Wives catching cheating husbands, vice and versa for using those features LOL. Yes these Col chicas will drug you and drain your accts so don't make it easy.

8. Stay away from dating apps, or do very very good video interviews. Do not do threesome unless it's with someone you've known for a while.

9. The comment above mentioned he was drugged on the 3rd date. Do yall remember the good ol mongering rule of "DO NOT REPEAT"? It is for this exact reason. Do not repeat dates with hawkers, and investigate better to confirm that they are truly non-pros if they claim to be. What's to stop them from lying? Nothing. So either become really good at it, or just void it. Guys who never repeat dates NEVER get in trouble and this is coming from the real Vets.

10. Best and true non-pros I've met and still experiencing with were not from dating apps. Someone who post an Ad as a gorgeous 20 year old female, seeking to date USA or Foreign Males from 18-90 years old is NOT a non-pro. Why would a normal girl, in college, living w parent, 20 years old with all her life ahead of her, want to be with a 50-90 year old man that barely speaks her language? She's a pro or after money; which will lead to greed and trouble. Yes, we've all read this a Million times that we're a Bank account to them at this point. Now, you could find a more honest one. Let's say a waitress, someone walking in the street or at work that you caught off guard; those interactions are more realistic due to the fact that she didn't target you, or had an Ad to go fishing for opportunities. You instead introduced yourself, asked her out and persuaded her like a real man does. So the internet and all these dating platforms are what's contributing to these problems.

I'm on my way back to Medellin in few days, I will likely stay for a Month or Two, or more since I work remotely LOL. Just broke up / ended things w couple local gfs so I will be in the hunt for new hunnies. I will post in that coming to town section for anyone who want to grab a beer. I'm reading some shit also which is good.

Pretty good, except #9 is garbage.

Most of the drugging that gets reported happens on the first date.

Whether it's the first or the fifth, you should still take the same precautions.

It just keeps happening. Another American found dead in his hotel room yesterday In Medelland after visiting Parque Lleras. The 44 year old was found unconscious in his room after hotel staff had not seen him for three days. He was unconscious when they found him but later died. Foreigners who come here to party need to know by now those working girls would love to be doing anything other than working the streets and entertaining 55 year old gringos. They do it because they are either out of options economically and need to feed their kids or at the direction of a boyfriend. No you are not that cool. No You are not that attractive No they don't want to come to America. They want to clean your pockets Take as much money as they can from You and move on to the next as quickly as possible. If that means drugging you and getting away with even more and not having to entertain You some certainly will. The girls certainly are not Pharmacists so they are just guessing how much Scope to use. This is mostly directed at the self described Passport Bros who see the glam and glitter of Medelland on You tube and head over with 6 months of saved up cash and throw it around Lleras like a baller. I'm not saying its always the case, but I think these drops in talent is as much to do with our own pschology as anything else. I hear it said many times that MDE is full of beauties, when the reality is that it isn't.

Seems like my subscription expired. Try the Medellin sports bar in the evenings, this is the bar in the San peter apartments, there will be 6-7 girls in the evenings. Try the hotel el dorado LA 70 lobby, there will be few girls there. There are couple of couple of bars next to Exito LA 70, one is Angels Bar Salsa why Musica Variada, there are plenty of girls here but you have to pay a bar fee to get the girl to your hotel room.

Also there are lot of prepago girls in the Amoblados La 70 Medellíand (google it), you will find them on the photoprepago website or pasionprepagos. Quality and price wise this is the best option in my opinion. I tried lots of prepago girls without an issue is laureles and it is usually safe. Please don't go out of laureles or el poblado area if you are venturing into prepago girls.
