I was checking on Grab to see how much it cost to go from malate to Angeles city. It looks like they don't go that far. What's the most cost effective way to get there. Do you guys just negotiate with the taxi Mafia, use the meter in the taxi or take a bus. What can I expect to pay to get there.

If going from the airport, consider the Genesis bus. Pickup is at Terminal 3 (probably where you will land), bay 14 (out the front door, ignore the taxis, turn right and walk to the last bay, #14, the bus is parked to your left). The bus runs first to SM Clark and makes a drop. Get off there, grab a taxi to your hotel (taxi mafia, all taxis p300, about $6, just pay it). Every hour on the hour, see pics.

Alternately, consider BeeWay Travel (located on Fields Ave, near Insomnia bar). Private car, p3500 pickup at your terminal at the airport, direct to your hotel. Pay in cash at the end of the ride. I like private cars because you own the vehicle and driver for the next few hours. Don't like music? Tell him to turn it off so you can stretch out and in the back seat and sleep on the way. Want to stop along the way for some McDo or food? He will be happy to do so (do buy him some lunch, its about $3). You can make an appointment in advance thru the email or FB.

GRAB Taxi works in 'zones' only and they generally do relatively short trips of up to maybe 10-15 km at most. GRAB Taxi is quite cheap and and GRAB Taxi is often a better and cheaper option than a trike and a helluva a lot more comfortable.

GENESIS Bus is your best, cheapest option, from Manila airport. Be advised that the bus from MNL to SM Clark only runs until about 7pm. Also, it is first come first served, so get your ass on the bus ASAP. You pay once the bus is in motion. The MNL to SM Clark bus does fill to capacity. Sailor Jack has heard of people getting shut out.

Victory Liner is a good bus option from other points in Manila.

The best taxi option from MNL to AC is through Margarita Station or Kokomos. The rate is 3500 p, period, they will not negotiate for less. Sailor Jack has the driver bring 4 cold SMBs for the 90 minute drive from MNL to AC (paid at cost plus a tip). Sailor Jack has tried to have Kokomos MNL / AC taxi bring his blowjob girl from AC to MNL to help relief stress on the trip back to AC, but they wanted 2 x 3500 p for that so SJ bit the bullet and waited the 90 minutes for his blowjob.

Sailor Jack has talked to other taxi drivers about the MNL / AC run and never got close to the 3500 p number from Kokomos. Your hotel can book the same taxi for you, but pay no more than 3500 p.

General question regarding withdrawing money from my US debit card.

Which ATM machine do you guys use to withdraw money from your bank account.

Is there a low fee ATM machine near walking street?

BDO ATM at SM only letting me withdraw 10,000 peso with 250 fee.

And in general, what is a good way to withdraw money or transfer money to the philippines peso?

I even thought about sending money to myself through western union, but I don't know if it's a good way or not?

Not all Philippine banks have agreements with all foreign banks. So you must figure out which Philippine banks work for you here.

Sailor Jack finds that China Bank always gives the best exchange rate available. China bank allows withdrawals of up to 20,000 p per withdrawal, depending on your home country's bank rules. China Bank has 2 ATMs at SM Mall and at least 2 ATMs on MacArthur Blvd.

There is an added 250 p fee that Sailor Jack's home country bank refunds.

Western Union sent to yourself; SJ guesses you could do that. The fees are likely higher than the ATM fees. Sailor Jack finds Western Union to be so cumbersome as to not be worth the hassle.

Avoid the ATMs at Kokomos' and near Phillies. They give the lowest exchange rates and they add even more bola2 fees.

Sometimes Filipinos are afforded what are considered to be 'civil rights', but in practice a foreigner has no 'civil rights' here. Pay up at the earliest possible moment and get moving. Never agree to 'talk' to the police without your attorney present.

The cheapest from Manila City (note, not NAIA) is Victory Bus. It's about 200 p and they have a few pick up points around Manila, the most convenient is the main depot at Pasay or behind SM and the Dusit Hotel in Makati. You will need a connection in Angeles from Dau terminal to where ever you are staying.

The easiest is to call your AC hotel and have them organise a door to door car. Expect to pay 4 to 5000 but it's the most comfortable and least stress option.

I've caught the bus a few times, more often the opposite way from Subic to AC or AC to Makati, private cars, hotel cars and local connection from Clark airport. I've never used a taxi.

Just be careful in Central and South America. I stopped hanging out in those places. If you try to haggle and they accept lower than market prices chances are you will be robbed. 9 out of 10, the hotel staff are in on it and there is nothing you can do about it. I find the Philippines is one of the safest areas to monger other than you own backyard (city). Where else can you barfine a female complain to bar staff if she doesn't stay the agreed upon time and quite possibly receive a refund? I've had that experience. Cuba, Jamaica, DR, and Nicaragua have been safe and cheep bets for me!

Try Asuncion Paraguay for a relatively safe and much cheaper alternative. One hitch, the only place you will hear English is the Airport, the US embassy, and the Sheraton Hotel.

Somehow managed some of the best encounters with broken Spanish and hand and mouth gestors. Great monger hunting on FB.

In the old days, HSBC had a large withdrawal limit. But there's none in Angeles. There's some in Manila.

Best way is to probably get an ATM card that refunds the foreign ATM fee.

For Western Union, you get a good exchange rate if you transfer bank to bank. Hence you need to open up a Philippine bank account.

Try using World Remit as a better option. The girls simply go to any LBC, Palawan or Bank to collect their tips and you don't have to carry any excess cash. Used this with FLs and pros on several trips to Manila, Davao, and Angles over the years. No need for local Philippine bank account and no hassels with over protective Western Union. The only country you can't send money to is the US.

Yes Koreans have a big head start with Angeles trips over the westerner because of air cost and distance.

The Koreans have many avenues indeed to meet girls, they have dedicated online member sites, they have girls delivered by van directly from the bars to the hotel by Asian middle men, many of these girls never get to dance in the bars as they are constantly booked by the van delivery service so never seen in the bar.

Lets not forget that many Koreans own Angeles companies / shops / restaurants work for overseas companies, many Koreans are young in age, easy with their money, and therefore can attract many pinays that might not work in the bar industry.

In truth, Angeles has become a Korean town plain and simple IMHO.

It is happening more and more in Cebu and Manila too. Quite a few are high roller gamblers and do not care about money. Twenty thousand is just one bet at the table for them. One of my girls went to the restroom when I was gambling. She said some Korean offered her 10,000 for one hour. I told her she should have taken it. She got angry at me. Oh, well. I was joking anyway. This girl I imported from the province so not a easy girl.

All the same there are guys from other countries who splurge to have a good time. But in other countries we have options to get a beautiful girl. For Koreans they are kind of restricted to monger in their own country. All they get is very high end Korean hookers or imported girls who also charge high prices.

The monger areas of AC really are the last option for destitute single moms from Lyete, Samar etc whereas Makati etc attract thousands of ambitious girls looking for better jobs and schools. As always, this is a generalized comment. There are many ugly and pretty girls in both cities but Manila certainly has more girls with additional benefits. Logic tells us that many many people all over the world that do not earn in usd are millionairs and billionairs in usd terms, so not sure where the logic is in your post?

The cost and inconvenience of travel has to also be inputted. The earth's circumference is 24,901 miles. London to Manila is 6666 miles. So a round trip is more than half the circumference of the world. Is it worth it to fly all that just to bonk a simpleton?

Chicago is 8125 miles and SF is 6963 miles.

Well I've seen some black 5 k girls who are in no way worth 5 k, they were definately not top tier talent. Maybe the 5 k price is their way of not getting barfined.
