With Suvarnabhumi Airport, it's easiest to just walk up to the dozen or so mobile service kiosks, hand them your phone, some cash, and they'll install a sim card for you, and boom! You've got a local Thai number with fast internet and then you'd install Line and Grab, no link to your US number whatsoever, cause your phone is now using a local Thai sim card. So uninstall your line now, and install it again after you get the Thai sim card. I may not have explained this propertly. My phone can accept E-Sim (not physical) along with my physical sim card. So I can have two sims on my phone, one physical and one virtual. I do not want to carry two personal phones, since I have to carry my work phone too. In the past I carried my hobby phone too. I can get an E-Sim card for Thailand in the US and activate the number here before travel, without going to any shop there. Even though I downloaded the line App, I have not linked any number or signed up. My intention is to switch between the two numbers while I am in Thailand depending on my needs.

But I have never used Line App before, so not sure about doing it myself.
