I actually did not live in Hungary like Joe Boy but I will be there for weeks or sometimes even months every year, so I could share some of my experiences as a foreigner.

People in Budapest are usually friendly to foreigners and naturally they are used to them because there are so many tourists every year. And it always amazes me how in different apartment buildings where I happened to live or renting apartment at that time, other locals who live there always say good morning, good day or good evening (in Hungarian of course) to me when we see each other in the stairwell or elevator or hallways.

About the food and supermarkets, they are all good and sell quality products and some are the same brands as Western European supermarkets, some local but very safe and quality stuff.
Also good info, thanks. BTW 180 degrees from Vilnius.

I have a question that might be off-topic, in that case I apologize for it.

How is it living in Budapest, especially about these two things:

    - friendliness of people. I lived one year in Vilnius and will never go back to that land. Most unfriendly people ever, they make a point not to talk to you, women are very typical sovietic garbage, either they are scared of you for some undetermined reason or they try to grab your money, nothing in between. Plus, if it weren't enough, most people are not especially bright (I am trying to be politically correct here).

    - availability of decent things. When I was in Lithuania, even the quality of basic food staples was really low. Grabbing "normal" food from shelves at the supermarket means constant stomach aches, you cannot buy normal quality things in any store, only Chinese shit, you go to the gym and it's full of sovietic thugs, no option for a better gym.

I am supposing that all of the above is false in Hungary, it's a country that gave many contributions to the world in science and literature, and the Hungarians I met abroad were great people, but I am asking just in case.

I live in Hungary. Not sure of your age or targets for meeting people, but there are lots of Hungarians who date foreigners. Depends too on if you are short-time or here longer. There are some good clubs, bars, hangouts. Lots of festivals. Budapest is fairly open to foreigners. I would say the countryside less so unless you are in a university town like Szeged.

Others should comment. Just my take on it.
    Thanks, good info.

Other notorious examples are Austria and Germany, ranked respectively last and before last in pretty much all expat rankings. Lithuania is special in that regard since as a foreigner, you are automatically treated with condescendence, which is remarkable for a country that has been independent for 36 years and has still areas that are the poorest in Europe. They are not even in the list of worst countries to live in because not enough people go and live there, otherwise they would outrank Austria by far.

But my point is that the country feels closed, feels turned inwards.

Speaking as a foreigner living in Budapest. On the street, people may seem unfriendly. Russians were always complaining that Americans smile too much.

I think it depends on how and where you meet Hungarians. They can be very friendly and somewhat liberal in relationships.

It's not the 80's or 90's. They aren't waiting for foreigners to rescue them. In other words, not as easy to approach as girls in the Philippines.

Lots of younger people speak English, but it's not a guarantee. Older folks less so.

Quality of life. Lots of things available in shops. Larger markets have a large variety of things. Food is very good. Beers are good. Palinka is very strong..

Some gyms better than others. Depends where you go.

Need more details to give you a better answer.

First off, it's against the rules of the forum to write details from a private messages publicly in a thread. Secondly, there are numerous written testimonials in Budapest thread about Il Drago's credibility.

Evidently, you didn't bother to read them. It's strange indeed. To blindly believe a defamation without any bulletproof evidence.

Thank you. Yes, my point is good indeed.

The only two people who used to talk about Belgrade (long time ago, are Il Drago and myself, he assisted me with high end girls there too, as well as in Budapest). It's not nice to call people names.

The same goes for cities. Whether it's Budapest or Belgrade.

Speaking often about Belgrade? The last time I mentioned Belgrade in a Budapest thread was on 26th of February 2023. That's three years ago. Thus, don't distort the truth.

Very good observation. That's how the scam works!

Most people here already know this here, and know to be aware of it but it is still good that users notice it from time to time just to remind new users to be vigilant.

Not sure about what is your problem. As you can see I'm very rarely active on this forum, mostly only when I need some information.

I can't afford to spend my precious time, nerves and be left with uncertainty chasing girls when I could be making money.

As my goal was to have my balls drained by a beautiful young chick, using Il Drago's help seemed the most natural thing for me to do.

    Cheers!

Guess he got tired of using the usual aliases.
