In my future travels to Brazil, I intend to keep stepping off the beaten path and reporting on lightly covered destinations around the country that interest me. I have been to 5 Brazilian cities so far and hope to visit more!

Class Lounge

This was the first boate I visited in Curitiba. It had an 80 reals entry fee with no minimum consumption amount required. Rooms went for 50 reals (at least the one I had), and of course you negotiate separately with the girl for her price. The guy at the front desk told me he could order something for me from a delivery company going by iFood. I took him up on his offer and ordered a Japanese bento box, and do you know it took those idiots two hours to deliver my meal! I was totally pissed off as it was supposed to be delivered in like 30 minutes. It got to the point where I told the guy at the desk that if they didn't deliver my food in 15 minutes then I didn't want it! Cancel the order! Well, it finally showed up. Damn!

While waiting for my food and eating it upon arrival, of course I was checking out the girls and they were checking out me. A few approached, but I had no interest. Case the joint! The entry way was kind of weird consisting of this long, narrow, dark passageway leading to the reception desk. The entrada fee was 100 reals with a 60 reals consumption requirement if I recall correctly. Getting to the upstairs bar required navigating an old, winding, wooden stairway leading to a large open space with a stage, a bar, tables (with badly chipped surfaces), and chairs. The space was drowning is disco-style lighting. I had a seat and ordered a drink. There were plenty of girls standing around, but I was determined not to go with anyone for at least for an hour. I needed to see who was going to stroll up in there later in the evening. I was approached by many of the girls, including the second Japanese Brazilian girl I have ever met, but I just wasn't in the mood. I was kind of hungry, but again this club offered no food. Sense Curitiba

This club was unlike any other that I have patronized in Brazil in that it's a day club with hours running from 2 pm to 11 pm. I arrived around 4 pm to find no entry fee and no minimum consumption requirement. At the very front as you enter is a covered seating area with tables, chairs, and some sofas. In the middle was an open-air area with tables and chairs and a DJ spinning music. And then also I could see a third upper area that was an enclosed bar, and beyond that there appeared to be an area with some rooms. This place served food on premises, so I decided to have an early meal. To drink, I ordered a Macunaima hahahahaha! Those of you who have been reading this site for a long time will get the joke LOL! I also had a pizza which was not very good. As for the girls, there were maybe about 20 present, but I didn't see anybody I liked. One of them had a banging body, but her face! Butterface LMAO! I stayed 2 hours and left without sessioning. But if I lived in Curitiba no question that I would occasionally patronize Sense as an alternative, laid back hot spot for fucking.

I was just there recently for a few months as a black man (fairly handsome, educated, good money, age appropriate, USA American) and the women weren't staring like how you described nor were the people generally that open. Honestly there were plenty of black locals residing there that being black wouldn't make you some rare attraction walking about at all. The Curtibanese people are almost uanimously known by the rest of Brazil, most foreigners, and even amongst themselves as the coldest people in Brazil. There were a few open people I had encountered in the city but generally the people would usually just go about their business and avoid strangers. Again, your experience might have been the case 25 years ago, but my personal experience and almost everyone elses' experiences, especially other blacks, that I've read or heard from are drastically counter to yours.

Vibe, you have to remember that this was when the internet was in its infancy. So the chances of local seeing a black American was probably equal to seeing a white tiger. It just didnt happen every day. LOL!

When I used to walk thru the 2 malls in centro, the saleswomen would come out of the stores to stare at me. It was Extremely unnerving in the beginning. The girl I was seeing at the time would just laugh and say, you might be the first black American they have ever seen in person! After a while, I got used to the attention and just rolled with it, a big smile and a Hello, went a long way back in 99.

I could walk around the entire day in centro and not see another black person, even the clubs / bars might have only 1 other black man in the spot. If I was into the European look, I would have been in heaven, dozens of females I could have been dating if I wanted. Unfortunately, those big round mulatta booties had me hooked, so I was fairly miserable in Curitiba when it came to females. I will say that the people were very nice and I made some really good friends during my time!

End note: I have always had a super friendly spirit / personality. " My experience probably wouldn't be the same for most people, so I definitely understand why they have opposite reactions to Curitiba.

Yes, please write up a report if you do go. I've chosen to work in Curitiba over Salvador for my next trip. I've tried Porto Alegre before and had fun, but not enough to return. There is a statue in front of the elevator door or the sofa by the elevator in Scandallo. That is the name. If you don't see it there, you can go to Class and they have the same statue by the door.

I've stayed at Hotel Confiance Batel for a week, have had girls there a few times with no issues. There is also Ibis right next block that is also girl friendly.

If it's less than 20 girls on a good day then it is nowhere close to the second largest after Scandallo. Both Gauguin and Balboa in SP have 50+ attractive girls on good nights.

My comment is not about quantity. I was going to say 15, and I clearly said it was a generous estimate. Do you think the best day at Scandallo is when it is packed? Not to me, that is my sentiment expressed here.

It's probably one of the best boate after Scandallo on the good days. The layout is on a hill. It is multilevel and kind of divided into 3 or 4 smaller sections to provide privacy. It is larger than most other boates except Scandallo. I think the roof is retractable and it was always closed when I went at night.

The good is the girl's attitude is excellent, assuming they have not been to Scandallo yet. Haha. At the same time, it reminds me of Scandallo. You won't find better looking girls here on average but the attitude feel better to me. It is also far less crowded so it feels more relaxed.

There are good days and bad days. I think on a good day, there probably are less than 20 girls and that is being generous. I could not get a correct number because the layout, and the locals like to spend a lot of time chatting with the girls in private area that I did not go to check. You may not get your turn as it closes at 11 PM. But if you are not picky, you can find one easily. On a bad days, I suggest that you just make a dinner out of it.

….. They also have one way glass so the girls do not see who is picking. Overall, it is a better setup. If you have a bigger budget and prefer a more honest approach, Curitiba will be good for a short trip.
