While Biden looked and is TIRED, the DNC is still building out their network to run political campaigns for congressional, senatorial, and presidency, as well as locals. In the meanwhile, you have someone who does not have a history of doing so heading the RNC, and it will show in the next three months.

How long will it last remains to be seen.
Prediction: If momentum continues into October, not only will the "battle ground" states be secured, you may see one or two red states flipped.

Posts: 1745Has all the air gone out of the Trump / Vance campaign and supporters?
My, my, my...what a difference a few weeks in US politics, make?
I mean, where are they now? As just weeks/days ago, there were more Trump QAnon/MAGA supporters celebrating victory, with more posts in the American Politics forum, than you could shake-a-stick at, than I'd seen in a long while from Repubs. You couldn't get a word in edgewise, to inform our boisterous Repub QAnon/MAGA fellow ISGers that elections are won at the ballot-box.
There was jubilation, gleeful bloviating, blustering laughter, bristling bravado, MAGA hi-fives all-a-round, premature victory dances and celebration over Trump's defiant black fist pump amidst his near death shouting.- And my absolute favorite of all, were those MAGA supporters, quoting RFK Jr. as if to say, every once in a while, when he's figured out, how to string two (2) coherent sentences together, we (Dems) should take it as "gospel".
BTW, speaking of weirdos, perhaps one of you Repubs and supporters of RFK Jr. can explain his confession, w/r to leaving a dead bear cub, in Central Park (2014), because he hadn't time to skin and eat it, on his way to catching a flight????
Anywho, back to where has all the "hot air" gone from the DJT/JDV MAGA campaign?:
But I digress, back to the Trump/Vance campaign, that has gone from hero to zero, in a matter of a couple of weeks.
The Harris campaign took-in a record setting $310 million in July to convict Trump's less than half of Harris's total, with a meager $139 million.
The enthusiasm for Veep Harris/Walz campaign, is a wave of fresh new intense power, that is energetic, uplifting and energizing, in rally, after rally, after rally. With 2x the crowds and audiences, to that of DJT and stalker JDV.
With Trump being furious, about losing his advantage in the polls, it's obvious the losing is amplifying his meltdown and has naturally reverts back to his same old rut, and reaches into his birther bag of tawdry tricks of ugly comments and lies, when he's losing and his back is against the wall.
By some standards the campaign meltdown is quite literal, as Trump just looks exhausted, as he now resembles the "old tired man" on the campaign trail, that Repubs claimed Biden was. Trump is so visibly frazzled and gutted from the success of the Harris/Walz campaign, that took to Truth Social, sobbing and crying, just let everyone know he want Joe Biden back (...kkkk!). He writes...
- "This is the most Radical Left duo in American History. There has never been anything like it and there never will be again. Crazy Kamabla is, indeed CRAZY. I HEAR THERE IS A MOVEMENT TO BRING BACK CROOKED JOE." --August 6th, 2024 at 3:36pm
- NPR/PBS/Marist poll (Jul 22 to Aug 4th +/- 3.3%) shows a 23% point swing in independent voters for Veep Harris from 32% in mid-Jul to 53% in August. As for Trump, among independents, he went backwards like his campaign, from from 46% to 44%
- Women, Black voters and independents have all moved toward Harris ... Because of Harris gains with certain groups, shes also improved her standing in the suburbs and with white voters overall...Harris now leads by 13 points with women (55-42 percent) ... Harris biggest boost is coming with Black voters.
She has gone from a 23-point lead with Black voters over Trump ... Some Black voters, who appeared to be considering Trump, have moved away from him, as hes dropped 10 points with them. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2024/0...ead-over-trump
I'll say it again, as the Repubs only have themselves to blame. The reason Repubs are facing another bad, stale and uninspiring campaign, is because, since Trump took office and took over the RNC, they have been going backwards, devoid of new ideas, visionless, myopic and filled with Project 2025 cult like blind faith to billionaires and a charlatan, joyless and compassionless leader, who's only looking for the next grift, to enrich himself and his family.
Yes, it's not over and the race is most definitely won at the ballot-box. But the momentum has definitely shifted over to the joyous and inclusive Harris/Walz campaign, were "When WE fight WE WIN!

Posts: 7457Nice to see a MSM host OUT his own pro Repub industry
It is refreshing to see a member of typically pro Repub Mainstream Media finally OUT his own industry for their consistent denigration of Dems vs their eternal deference to Repubs.
This is a MUST SEE video:
https://youtu.be/ZD-oTJ49nls?si=MdqUrcAQtquqfFwx
And as a reminder of another point and prediction I have made about this; as of this writing, no member of typically pro Repub Mainstream Media, not even Lawrence O'Donnell as seen in that great video, has dared to frame the current improvement in campaign donations and poll numbers for Dems as due to ANYTHING other than Joe Biden dropping out and endorsing Kamala Harris.
There has not been one word about that dramatic response in favor of the Dem campaign ALSO coinciding perfectly with the Grand Finale of that lunatic, lie-filled, clown show of idiocy Republican National Convention, the disturbingly weird Repub VP introduction and the always disturbingly weird King of Idiotic Clowns Donald J. Trump's Repub nomination rambling, incoherent blithering and hate-filled acceptance speech.
Oh no. They can not do that. Because if MSM dare to do that they would no longer be furthering their beloved Repubs' carefully concocted election campaign talking point that "America is simply relieved that the "failed" President Joe Biden has totally lost his Cognitive Competence and abandoned his "failed" presidency while our Repub former president, candidates and policies had been justifiably lovingly embraced all along. ".
And if that is the overriding Repub election campaign message then it must certainly be the typically pro Repub election campaign message too.

Posts: 4638Truth about Rabies and the vaccine
I remember at like a cub scout meeting where we were handling animals, and we were told you know if an animal bites you, you have to get 21 rabies shots in the stomach one a day for 21 days and if you do not do that, you are going to die because there is no cure for rabies. So fear of rabies has been ingrained us since children.
Common sense dictates that you should only worry about things you know others died of, and I know that no one here knows anyone who died of rabies in the USA, and you know why? Because of the average number of deaths in the USA over the last 50 years from rabies is one per year.
But that does not stop 60,000 people per year from getting preventive therapy including the vaccine, which costs $5000 on average for a total of $300 million per year. Now you can imagine what the vaccine companies are going to say. Well, there is only one death because our vaccines work so well which sound great until you learn that there were only one hundred deaths per year before the vaccine. And back then, they did not have a massive animal immunization program. 99% of the cases of rabies in the world come from dogs but because dogs are vaccinated so frequently here, dogs rarely cause rabies in the USA.
So you can make a calculation on what is best given risk and benefit. If ten people die a year from the vaccine and only one dies from rabies, you should not take the vaccine right? Yeah, it would be great to have that data right? It does not exist. What does exist is a list of side effects from the vaccine but the CDC does not have the percent incidence of side effects.
So this is why it took so many parties to make up their mind. No one knows what to do because there is no data. You have to read the mind of the person and realize that she wants the vaccine so you give it to her. If she dies of rabies, a doctor can be sued, but there is no way he can be sued if she is harmed from the vaccine because no one can prove the vaccine is harmful. She is deluding herself then when she thinks she got great treatment because no one knows that is.
As unbelievable as that is, there is this article in a scientific journal. For the record, PEP means postexposure prophylaxis which includes the vaccine. Here is the article, https://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...64410X18315421.
Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) in patients with potential or confirmed exposure to RABV are generally considered to bring the strongest proof of clinical effectiveness. It is critical that all clinical trials undertaken adhere to good clinical practice (GCP) including ethical approval and informed consent and never against placebo in rabies PEP trials. A case-control study therefore cannot serve to justify initial implementation, although it may be useful as part of downstream confirmation studies. At present, observational data may be the most convincing and ethical method by which to undertake the evaluation of rabies vaccines or changes in PEP regimens, before an RCT can be conducted.
Let me translate this: Usually there are two groups in a study. One group gets a placebo and the other gets a treatment. You then see if the intervention worked (the benefit) and ascertain the side effects of the intervention group versus the placebo group (the risk). That was not done with this vaccine. Instead, observation was used, and the observation was the vaccine was great with very few side effects.
And the most shocking line of all: There is no point in investing time, energy and money in conducting clinical trials with no expected gain in protecting human health.
And the author is right on that point. A study probably is not going to save lives given how few people die of rabies. On the other hand, it may change guidelines and hurt vaccine companies to the tune of billions.
So the CDC is working as expected in my mind. They are making billions for vaccine companies for diseases that rarely kill people, and you know you are a Democrat if that sounds great to you.

So Matt Taibbi posts this about a woman who has a bat fly into her house and somehow find a way to blame Trump and somehow got her in story in the NYT:
The New York Times ran a guest editorial by Belle Boggs, a North Carolina author who had a bat fly in her house. It didn't bite her, but she needed a sheriff's deputy, a county health nurse, state animal control, the CDC, and an E. Are. Doctor to tell her what to do about that. Naturally, the episode led her to think of Donald Trump:
Now this is what she wrote: After our visit from the bat, our sheriff's department, public health department and university hospital all functioned exactly as designed. The see. The. See. , a huge federal agency that works to protect every one of us from infectious disease, food-borne illness and emerging threats like bird flu, pulled through. The see. The. See. Is part of what Mr. Trump's allies would call the administrative state and is in the cross hairs of Project 2025, which proposes breaking up the agency. I want to believe Kamala Harris is right when she says "we are not going back" to a time when every calamity leaves us on our own.
Back to Taibbi: The conundrum of the column is that the author, who wrote a book called The Art of Waiting: On Fertility, Medicine, and Motherhood, does not know if she and her husband need rabies shots. She's sure the bat "hadn't gotten near our daughters," but uncertainties reign elsewhere. "How deep a sleeper are you?" the county health nurse asks, reminding Boggs the window to act is short. Author and husband ultimately spend $600 in co-pays to get shots and realize they've lived through another experience reminding them of the need to vote blue, at which point the column is written.
And here is his point: The real-life decision tree is simpler. If you know you're too much of a compulsive thinker to get through days of wondering if a rabid bat bit you in your sleep, you don't need the CDC to tell you you need to pay the $600, get the shots, and buy peace of mind.
So this is how dumb Democrats have gotten. They cannot make decisions. They have to have government decide for that. The interesting thing is I would agree with her on the CDC "functioning as designed" but she thinks that means the CDC serves her, and I am like shaking my head and asking. Really? After Covid? So I did a deep dive on how the CDC is functioning with rabies.

Posts: 4638So now this post is censored which cracked me up.
To recap my post was how can whites be racist when 50,75, and 100% white people are saying they are not white? How can we Republicans be sexist if Dems cannot define what a woman is? On a 1 to 10 scale, that is a 10 , a kill shot. There is no good answer to it.

But beyond the arguing, you think censorship is good. Sorry, I do not. And how was this correct? You can still read what I wrote, and in your case if your post was censored, the person who should want it down the most wants it up. That is censorship is but I am not sure what the point of it is.
We just saw the idiocy with Covid and absolute obedience to leadership. And here you are Spidy worshipping an admin. I wonder how authority humping mongers live with themselves. I used to think it was they hated themselves, and I am sure some do. Now I just wonder what percentage are narcissists who think the government would understand their need for mongering when the truth is government is doing all it can to put mongers in jail.
So yeah, I do think there is a huge difference with Democrats and Republicans on this issue. Democrats want to be taken care of by government while Republicans want the government to leave us alone.

LOL. You. Can. Not. Make. This. Stuff. Up.
Leave it to the Great Race / Ethnicity / Appearance / Religion Detective, Donald J. Trump, to put his now famous serious Cognitive Impairment, senility and dementia on full display at his Fake Mar-a-Lardo White House press conference by "misremembering" (or we can call it lying, your choice) a helicopter "emergenvy landing" that never happened.
But more importantly, his above-stated Detective work demonstrates that he can't even tell the difference between two rather well-known men, one a White guy and the other a Black guy!
Nikki Haley Nikki Haley Nikki Haley?
Or was it Nancy Pelosi?
Therefore proving that nobody in MAGA World is more qualified to be the arbiter of ANYONE'S Race / Ethnicity / Appearance / Religion than The Great Detective, Donald J. Trump, himself!

It wasnt the famous former San Francisco mayor on the helicopter flight at all. It was Gov. Jerry Brown, the former governor of California, who bears little resemblance to Willie Brown.
.......
Jerry Brown, who left office in January 2019, said through a spokesman, There was no emergency landing and no discussion of Kamala Harris.

In Trump's astonishingly lunatic Mar-a-Lardo "press conference" today where he did not accurately answer any question (all asked perfectly pro Repub calmly and politely, no shouting and anger, unlike most you see of Dems) while demanding that Harris do "press conferences" like his where he does not answer any question accurately, he announced that under Joe Biden gasoline has gotten as high as "$8 per barrel", which (he lied) caused inflation to be the highest in history and (he lied) the economy to be the worst ever.
