I was there in June, it will be my go to place.

Yes, it is the old Dream Hotel. Building #1 has breakfast while building #2 has the pool and gym. I didn't know there were free tuk tuk, but they are normally available on the street just outside building #1.

    Dynasty inn hotel, any feedback?

Just curious, The Dynasty INN (as opposed to the Dynasty Grande Soi 6) which is right beside NP never gets a mention on any Guest friendly review site or forum, which I find weird. Is there something particularly wrong with it? All other hotels around get mentioned such as the majestic suites, nana hotel etc etc.

It seems to have a good rating on booking.com etc, has anyone stayed there this year at all?

Just looking for a cheap Short stay base while mongering around Nana but I still want it to be relatively clean, comfortable, air-conditioned!

    Thanks.

It's a good hotel and I stay there frequently. Definitely girl friendly.

The pool is not large and not beautifully decorated, it's long and thin so swimming laps is fine. There is a bar at the pool.

Hotel near near the action with good outside facilities

Any recommendations for a hotel near the action with good outside facilities?

I was thinking of a reasonable size pool with sun loungers that wasn't too cramped.

Too be honest at my age I need bit of a rest between the action so somewhere outside to relax would be useful.

    Any ideas please?

Just got back from Alt Hotel Nana:

    - got an Economy room, it's really small and basic. Although they had full toiletries, safe, kettle & seems clean. In main building. Around $40-45.

    - I then upgraded to a Suite which had microwave, balcony, 2 sofas and was quite different to the economy room not just in size but design. But then this was in the annex building. $75.

    - service is like a 4-star hotel, quick with any amenities, tuktuk takes you to the main road at any time which is really good.

    - Location is decent for Nana, as you basically have to walk right up the soi with all the freelancers and NEP is just over 10 minutes walk.

So overall verdict is that I would get a room at the Annex building because there's zero walk of shame there, seems newer too than the main building. The rooms are very clean but I have to say, if I spend $60-100 I'the rather get a standard room at a better hotel rather than the biggest room at a 3-star hotel. There are better options at this price range.

Pros: Nice room, good bed, strong and steady wifi. And girl friendly. At least, I think so. I had only one girl visiting me there, but I had no problems picking her up in the lobby, right in front of the reception, and taking her to my room. Nobody said anything, and I didn't ask her to leave her ID at the reception because she's a regular and I fully trust her.
Cons: rather small shower cubicle, no brown bread at the breakfast buffet, and too strong coffee. The Americano tasted like expresso. Hell, even the cappuccino tasted like expresso.
But the worst of all was the noise of the motor bikes and tuk-tuks driving by all fucking day and night long. So I won't be going back there.
I did walk past the other day thinking that looks like a nice hotel but motorbike noise is a no-go IMO. And I actually don't even know why the government doesn't do anything about this as it's not really a feature at many other Asian cities.

Don't need passport to check into short time hotel. Sometimes just silently hand the attendant 300 baht and get the room key.
I got to my hotel Sunday afternoon (an American chain). It was clear that the chain had a copy of my passport from before and they only verified the passport number. No photocopying. The entry stamp page wasn't even looked at.

    Hi all,

Long time reader first time poster.

Hitting Bangkok for my second visit in September.

Without a doubt my favorite mid range hotel is the Adelhi Suites at 6 Soi Sukhumvit 8.

Great rooms and staff. If I had a guest visit they would just ring to check then send her up. Most late night entire they didn't even ask for a guest ID.

Great restaurant on bottom floor and an absolutely awesome location.

Close to most things you may wish to partake. I'm staying a Fri / Sat / Sun in a king suite for 70 USD a night early Sept.

I'm going to spend 7 nights after that at the JW Marriot which is fairly overpriced at 180 USD a night.

I'm planning a week of threesomes and this hotel doesn't blink an eyelid at 2 guests joining you and they don't collect ID's. Safety and Damage is your responsibility or well your credit card.

Is the Landmark worth potentially $110 a night?

Is ParkRoyal good enough to save that extra money per night at around $60?

Is Boss Suites too far from the action and too uncomfortable considering its around $30 a night and 10 minutes from nana?

Any other recommendations up to and around $100 per night or less?
Landmark has the best location, cannot say if it's worth or not, I've never stayed there.

Parkroyal looks good from the outside, never stayed there too because of the price.

Boss suites is not far from Parkroyal. I stayed there 1 night 10 years ago based on good reviews and was not happy with the place (very old looking room with loads of coackroaches). I've read a member a few months ago saying it's good now, they probably refurbished it.

Ibis soi 4 is clean and good, around 35 dollars.

Ibis style or Novotel is better with a better location too, but more expensive (40 to 70 dollars).
