Back in 2016, Trump and Repubs didn't hesitate to use the Russian backed leaked emails to WikiLeaks, taken from the hacked Clinton/DNC servers, by "our" (but apparently not one of Trump's) enemies, to enhance his campaign's chances of winning.

Today the Repubs, want the media and Dems, to give them the courtesy and goodwill, they NEVER give Hillary Clinton in 2016. Yet more hypocrisy from the Repubs.

Meanwhile, across the country, REAL censorship is taking place, primarily by Repubs in red states. Dictionaries and classic literary works, such as "The Catcher in the Rye", "The Grapes of Wrath", "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Bluest Eye", are being banned, to serve a backward Repub/QAnon/MAGA political, Project 2025 agenda.

And here is his point: The real-life decision tree is simpler. If you know you're too much of a compulsive thinker to get through days of wondering if a rabid bat bit you in your sleep, you don't need the CDC to tell you you need to pay the $600, get the shots, and buy peace of mind.

So this is how dumb Democrats have gotten. They cannot make decisions. They have to have government decide for that. The interesting thing is I would agree with her on the CDC "functioning as designed" but she thinks that means the CDC serves her, and I am like shaking my head and asking. Really? After Covid? So I did a deep dive on how the CDC is functioning with rabies.

With all due respect you do not know a thing about how things work in the US Government The idea is for individuals to rotate out of private industry and into the highest levels of government developing contacts with political figures and career government workers in order to further the salary and bonuses they get from their private employers. Your point is well made and I would add, that many of those titans, captains and lieutenants of industry, often also personally benefit immensely by moving into government jobs, even after very successful private industrial careers.

One of the most egregious and indelible examples of this, was Hank Paulson the chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, who IMHO, took the gov't job (Sec. of the Treasury under George W. Bush), simply to avoid paying taxes. Boat loads of taxes! The irony in 2008 was that, then George W. Bush, was "paying-off/out" his banker donors, with lucrative tax breaks, to the very people who caused the sub-prime crash of 2008.

In July 2006, Paulson, was able to dodge a tax hit of $200 million, in state and Federal capital gains taxes. By taking advantage of a (George H. W. Bush) 1989 one-time loophole, that gave candidates, in a handful of high level positions, the ability to liquidate his or her entire portfolio without paying a dime in capital gains taxes. Naturally, this was just another corporate welfare tax pretense, dress up to supposedly "attract talent" to gov't jobs.

Needless to say, despite any Repub, right-wing rhetoric or propaganda, about only one class of people receiving gov't welfare, is all bunk. Rest assured corporate welfare is alive, well and kicking (as shown in a previous post of mine, w/r to educating Elvis 2008).

IMHO, much like Trump, there are many men and women, that are less interested in servicing their country and more interested in benefiting and enriching themselves or their cronies (as you've made abundantly clear), off the backs of hard working Americans, they care nothing to very little about.
