Posts: 1745I beg to differ...fascism would thrive under a 2nd DJT term...
Despite the soft peddling answers w/r to a Trump fascist rule and it's existential threat to U.S. Constitution/democracy (and what an unstable U.S. democracy would mean for the rest of the world at large), your question is SPOT ON, w/r to USA becoming a fascist state under a 2nd, 3rd, 4th term...etc under puppeted fascist Trump administration.

Oh fuck, wait now!...that's right!...the Repubs in a coordinated effort with the Heritage Foundation, SCOTUS MAGA 6, JD Vance and other right-wing political, public and private notaries and ideologues, wrote a 900-page fascist manifesto playbook, called PROJECT 2025, outlining a fascist "wish list", for another Trump presidency.
What now...about who's projecting? You forget every ACCUSATION from Trump, is an actual CONFESSION by Trump!
So while your conspiracy theories, make for interesting chit-chat, those in support of democracy, DON'T NEED to speculate or make up conspiracies, when all they need to do is read the PROJECT 2025 fascist manifesto playbook.
"Fuzzy", now is it? (...kkkk!) Says the guy who wouldn't "vote for Trump, for dog catcher". But make no mistake about it, Trump was just one "disloyal" Mike Pence, heartbeat and "guardrail" away, from full blown realized pre-Project 2025 fascism in America.

Yeah, nothing "fuzzy" about it, he was quite clear and doubled-down, when again asked about his coarse and divisive rhetoric. The definition of fascist, fits Trump perfectly!
I would also make the argument, that Trump was well on his way to making America (NOT great again, but) a fascist state, in his 1st term.
But I must admit, that since he's ramped up his fascist rhetoric as of late, I may have to upgrade Trump from, "wannabe fascist dictator" to "fledgling fascist dictator"?
Allow me to push back somewhat, and say, "I'm NOT so sure...", that many of those "legitimate institutions", would STOP a 2nd term of his corrupt fascist administration. I didn't think the country or those institutions, have yet recovered from the 1st term of a Trump fascist administration.

There'll be no such "guardrails" in place, if there is a next time and a 2nd term in office. ONLY LOYALISTS (on bended knees), will be placed in ANY and ALL key positions, heads of departments or leaders in key institutions of gov't, will ONLY be there, to do Donald Trump's biding.
With the 900-page fascist Project 2025 playbook, one half (maybe more) of Congress in cahoots, a corrupt SCOTUS MAGA Six (6), a weaponize DOJ and loyalists as the heads of the U.S. Military,...- I'm curious, just who do you imagine or what "legitimate institutions", are coming to save us or remove Donald "King" Trump from office?
- And who will save us from JD Vance (...kkkk!), if removed from office?

Posts: 3921When looking at United States politics in political leanings through in the international lens, especially pairing that to other developed nations, the Democrats are solidly center right except when it comes to the work nonsense and the Republicans are far far right. Unfortunately the United States has no party that truly leans left economically and when it comes to workers' rights and privileges. When the Republicans scream privatization, the Democrats counter with mild regulation as opposed to nationalization. If they did counter with nationalization we might end up with a few more crumbs for the masses, like universal health care, good pensions for everyone, 4 weeks paid vacation, paid maternity leave, paid education, etc. We claim to be a democratic country in the united states, however almost none of our constitutional and Democratic ideals are active or present in one of the most important places, our workplace. Instead we are under the yoke and dictatorship of corporate capitalism. I would put forth in order for capitalism to work the balance of power between labor and capital needs to be kept, and that can only be done through appropriate legislation and regulation. Personally I would love to see a democratic workplace where workers have as much say as capital when it comes to what is produced, how it is produced, and how it is distributed. It's kind of ironic that in the United States any ideas such as that are labeled as communism, but they actually are true democratic values.

Posts: 4637Oh Brother! Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia Secretary of State who taped Trump and was censured by the Republican party, has a study showing how great Georgia's voting system works? That is a shocker. What is next? Fish swim?

Then there is already drama as the Georgia election board stepped into action: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwylnl02em1o.
The new measure requires poll workers to hand count ballots on election night. Or in some cases, the day after. To confirm that the number of paper ballots matches the amount tabulated by the machine.
This isn't the first change of voting rules to spark uproar in an election year. Democrats triggered lawsuits four years ago after they broadened use of ballot drop boxes in Wisconsin and expanded postal voting in Pennsylvania.
But the difference in Georgia is that criticism is coming from both sides of the political aisle.
Georgia's State Election Board comprises three Republicans, one Democrat and a chairman appointed by the Republican governor.
The role was historically procedural and nonpartisan, but in the aftermath of the 2020 election, the panels have emerged as a political lightning rod.
"Now, the job has turned into something that's like partisan football," said Gowri Ramachandran, director of elections and security at the Brennan Center for Justice, a liberal non-profit.
The state board was previously chaired by Georgia's secretary of state, but Raffensperger's fellow Republicans pushed him out after the 2020 election, a move critics say was revenge for his defence of the election results.
Since then, several Trump-aligned Republicans have joined and won a majority on the board: Ms King, Ms Johnston and former Republican state senator Rick Jeffares.
During meetings, the board's three new Republican members have advocated for a number of changes to the state's elections, including a rule passed earlier this year that allows local election boards to conduct "reasonable inquiries" into election results before certifying them.
Ms King argues the rule will lead to "an increase in certifications" because board members can examine documents themselves.
The amount of stink coming off of Georgia elections in unfuckingreal. How come there are so many damned issues there and in Arizona?

Oh, that is good, Loony Tooms. Trump tried branding water and steaks and it did not work unlike his other businesses. How many businesses has Kamala had that failed or succeeded? Uh, that would be none.
Hey, Loony Tooms, try this on. We Dems banned Trump from Twitter. No one imagined he would turn that into a $4 billion bonanza, and we fucked up!
Can you say that Loony Tooms? No, you twisted yourself into a pretzel again and somehow came up with Republican donors being at fault to fit your never ending theme of Dems good, Republicans bad. Do you see how pathetic you are?
Why would anyone listen to you on anything? It is the same post time after time.

To those who don't care to read. Georgia just published their findings after auditing 8. 2 million people on the voter roll. Out of 8. 2 million, they found, DRUMROLL, 20 non-citizen registered, of which 9 voted.

Posts: 1207To the idiot BM's who keep posting the Trump is a fascist slander: Joseph Goebbels would be proud of you. "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself. " Again:
1. Who wants an open border. The Woke.
2. Who wants illegal aliens to vote in elections. The Woke.
3. Who want to stack the Supereme court with left wing flunkies. The Woke.
4. Who wants to do away with the Senate Filibuster. The Woke.
5. Who wants to control high tech and low tech businesses. The Woke.
6. Who wants to eliminate or fundamentally alter the bill of rights ie the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th 6th, 8th, 9th & 10th amendments to the constitution. - the Woke.
7. Who wants to control what we see in books, films, and on the internet. The Woke.
8. Who wants to groom our children and sexually mutilate minors. The Woke.
None of you fanatics want to debate what is really going on, the real issues in this election or what the Woke party really aims to do to America if they win. You guys much prefer repeating the same old BS slimy attack lines and hope that Goebbels, your mentor, is right. Whatever happened to the Joy of Mamela campaign? The answer: the people have rejected the phony, word salad message so the campaign has retreated back to the "Trump is Hitler. " attack line. This shows 2 things: 1 the Dems are in big trouble and they know it from their internal poling and 2 in order to avoid a complete election night debacle they have decided to forget about trying to convince any more undecided independents and never Trump republicans to vote for Kamela and instead the campaign will focus all their energies and money to shoring up their base support so at least they, the hard core, brain dead Wokies come out and vote.
I addressed the same issue few days ago. Ofcourse this is not on the Marxist talking points agenda, so it was ignored. Yeah, the Woke don't want to debate what is really going on. They can't defend their fascism? So all they got is Goebbels' advice. "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself. ".
555, No they can't which means there is not one honest or sane left leaning poster on this web site. It is very revealing and it is humorous that the constant lying and personal gutter attacks have had the opposite effect of the Left's intentions. This is why Trump is winning. The American people at long last see through the Left lies and are beginning to LIKE Trump. Ha Ha Ha. Your worst nightmare is about to come true! Ha Ha Ha.

Lucky for us that we have a strong enough democracy with the established and legitimate institutions to remove him from office if necessary. But why even risk such a scenario? Just ditch his ass once and for all!

Slaves in other countries would be hurt too. The plus though is that there would be a few more cheap hookers in Asian countries as the women try to find a way to feed themselves when they lose their factory jobs.

This hobby was much better before Bubba put the CCP into the WTO.

I posit that the women would be much much better off selling pussy for 30 minutes for a days pay over working at Foxcon for 16 hrs et al for the equivalent pay.
This is why Xi banned hooking in CCP-land, he wants them working for the oligarchy instead of you.

Posts: 4637You see the problem with what you Democratic do all the time is you accuse others of what you yourself are doing. The biggest example of a fascist one party state is California. A Republican has no chance at being a USA senator or governor in California. The game plan in California was we will let in all these illegal aliens. We will forbid anyone from checking their citizenship and allow them to vote after we throw gobs of money on them.

According to google / wikipedia, fascists often advocate for a dirigiste economy (a market economy in which the state plays a strong directive role through economic interventionist policies). So the government is going to tell Trump's hotel managers how to run a hotel and all this golf courses? LOL. That is what you are worried about with Trump? You have to be kidding me!

Is this worth the maximum 0. 5 point gain Harris needs to win 270+ Electoral College votes according to some PA Poll Consensus on virtually every credible Poll Aggregator website?
That and her massive Get Out The Vote / Ground Game in that state vs Trump's bupkiss because he pocketed the dumb sucker Repub hillbilly money earmarked for that purpose, along with the fact that pollsters and 2023/2024 special election results tell us they are now over-sampling likely Trump voters and therefore under-estimating Dem election strength by a whopping 5-7 points, of course.
Time will tell.
The Philadelphia Inquirer Endorsement:
Kamala Harris for president.
There has never been a more important presidential election in our lifetime. The road to the White House may well run through Pennsylvania and every vote matters.
https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/edi...-20241025.html
Voters face an easy but tectonic choice in the race for the White House.
Will they choose the first woman or the oldest man to be the next president?
Will they choose the prosecutor or the convict?
Will they choose the candidate who supports restoring Roe v. Wade, or the man who bragged about overturning it?
Will they choose the candidate with a tax plan to help the middle class or the one who wants to help the superrich?
Will they choose the candidate who backs a tough bipartisan immigration law or the guy who killed the measure?
Will they choose the candidate who wants to combat climate change or the one who thinks it is a hoax?
Will they choose the candidate who upholds the peaceful transfer of power or the one who summoned a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol?
Will they choose the candidate who stands up to Vladimir Putin or the one who said Russia could do whatever the hell they want?
Will they choose the candidate who champions education, health care for all, and sensible gun safety laws, or the person who wants to close the U.S. Department of Education, repeal Obamacare, and told supporters after a school shooting to get over it?
Will they choose the candidate who supports the working class or the one who is anti-union and opposed raising the minimum wage?
Will they choose a woman of color who wants to unite the country, or a man with a history of misogynistic, racist, and divisive comments and actions?
Will they choose the candidate who supports LGBTQ rights or the one who wants to roll back protections for the gay community?
Will they choose the candidate who will uphold the presidential oath, or the one who was impeached twice for high crimes and misdemeanors, profited from the White House, dangled pardons to cronies, and was indicted four times?
This bakers dozen list could go on, but the choice is clear and obvious.
Vice President Kamala Harris wants to help all Americans.
Donald Trump wants to help himself.
That is why The Inquirer endorses Kamala Devi Harris to be the 47th president of the United States.
