Am I wrong on this or not, why is Cartagena even talked about being a monger destination at all anymore? It's been spent for at least 5 years now, I can see if it's on a bucket list or something! But as far as hookers gooo, come on! And I've had lots lots of good times there in its prime!

Keep the hookah-smoking, rapper wannabes in the DR and Colombia. I'm in an under-the-radar country at the moment paying $30 TLN with 8's and 9's. Some of us learned our lesson and we're not going to make posts or YouTube videos telling them where the next best spots are so they can come ruin it like they always do. Throwing money in the air, wearing rappers stunna shades, jordans and air forces, making videos about banging overpriced pros. I know some of these dudes and most of them don't even have $10 k in the bank. Imagine spending all your money on hookers when you barely have any savings. These are grown men we're talking about. I know its a 30-minute-long video but jump directly to timestamp 3:50 and watch how hes lacking street smarts and not picking up on that they are hiding their face while being on the video and he thought it was best to stay there. Genius decided to go hang out with the locals by that abandon spot next to Mall Plaza. He then decided that since it looked like the Philippines it was safe as the Philippines JAJAJA. Yep. That is why my first time there after going to other Colombian cities I said there was no need to go back. Cartagena is to Colombia what Phuket is to Thailand.

Nostalgia. That and a lot of people are afraid to go to a new place. Take the Sosua thread for instance. A lot of people are finally fessing up that it has gone downhill despite me saying this for the past 13 or so years. But they still keep going there with excuses such as there is a beach, and the food is good, and their cousin's ex-boyfriend has a place there.

I said years ago how it was like battered spouse syndrome. No matter how bad it gets, they will not leave it. Leche papi leche. $100 short time. I am from the school of giving them $25/ day and having to make them go home because they did not want to leave.

It is funny because now many other places they could have explored and gotten to know in that timeframe are also headed downhill. But I do not feel bad for them. Should have checked it out while it was hot, instead of swearing by the one place.

Well yea, you're finally catching up. I've been reporting this since last year when I went to Carnival in Barranquilla.

These guys are trying to put girls on retainer to be their vacation girlfriends and they think the girl is being loyal to them but the girl is already hooked on that "get the bag" social media bullshit and she's getting multiple gringos sending money where she doesn't have to leave her house anymore. What these men did was hyper-inflate everything and the older the chica gets the more she wants. A perfect example is look what happened in Sosua, exactly how those women became entitled and started acting like women from ATL, MIA and NYC is exactly how the girls in Cartagena are acting now. I knew it was time to find another place when I saw the uptick of girls wearing Yankee fitted and all white Airforce Ones, then came the triple nose ring nonsense.

Just about every girl down there running around with an iPhone Pro Max and that should immediately tell any gringo these girls are taking on the materialistic culture broadcasted on social media from western women and the more places that get access to reliable internet the worse this is going to become; Thailand is slowly getting there as well.

Going to CTG in early February. Last time I traveled to CTG was 2 years ago and I know alot has changed. I slit time between at Hotel Oz in Boca Grande and an Airbnb in El Laguito last time. I definetly will not be staying in a hotel this time around. Question for the group: Is it better to stay in Getsemani or El Laguito for a Mongering and site seeing visit. I'm staying 5 days in total.

Getsemani might be closer to the nightlife and action.

I have talked to so many normal chicks about things concerning money that I no longer think this is the case. For instance, if I ask them how much is their electric bill every month, they will tell me in dollars. I say but it is Colombia, so why are you telling me in dollars? They will say because they think I do not understand pesos. So maybe there are so many tourists in those areas that did not understand pesos, that the hookers figured it was easier to tell them in dollars. I can just see a mf whipping out his calculator when a chick tells him 150 pesos, as I have seen my friends do in every other country when making purchases.

Everywhere there's passport bros are prices have doubled and even tripled. Yesterday one girl in cartagena charged in dollars demanded 300 for an hour and she wouldn't budge! That's double what you't pay in Atlanta or Miami. Why hop on a plane and pay for an overpriced Airbnb in a city where street & beach vendors charge triple the price of everything. On top of that the girl that I did smash last night was complaining about the price and I told her it was good money. She then pulls out here phone and shows me money transfers she's received from passport bros 2 of whom she's never MET! One works as a bus driver and the other in a warehouse. This woman is getting ran through all week and she's still receiving transfers from men she's never met.

Or just walk away because talking USD and you will always lose. In my experience, that dynamic is much more common in CTG than anywhere else in the country.

If the quote or even mention dollars, counter with the same in pesos. Say something like "OK 200.000, listo, nos vamos" Maybe they come back "no pesos, dollares" then you say you don't have dollars, 250 pesos or nothing.
