This is probably a pretty sweet deal. Wife is okay with you having excursions, and you have some sense of stability for once you need it. As long as you are still in full control of your finances I guess there is very little downside to this.

I've always wanted to celebrate Christmas in Colombia as my Colombian friends here in the US told me to go and try it once. For me the risk factor is just not worth it, out of all the months in calendar year, I avoid going to Colombia especially Medellin, during December. I barely know anyone there except for the girls I've spent time with. Even though I've known them for years and see them regularly whenever I visit. I still keep my guard up and never fully trust them. I treat them like I am meeting them for the first time, cause you never know when they will do you bad (not saying they will, but better be safe than sorry) and most of them likes to play the long game now.

I've been spending Christmas and New Years in MDE for the past 5 years and simply put, I love it! I can see why many are apprehensive about being here during this time due to increased crime and girls flaking out with family events. And if you're a newbie, it's definitely one of the worst times to go, but for me it's the best time. I speak the language, immersed in the culture, and have done many barrio parties and family outings with chicas in Aranjuez, Buenos Aires, Manrique, and even up in Popular. And that's without even mentioning the North side. I've known a lot of the chicas for years (pre-Covid) and some I don't even mess with anymore, but they're fun to hang out with and would hook me up with new and cute barrio chicas that need some gringo money and I'll say to them, take my money honey! Better get them now before they turn jaded and spoiled by the passport bros / weekend warriors / poblado papis.

BTW, I'm a fellow chino, in my 40's, and can pass as 30's. I definitely don't blend in and don't expect to be treated as a local. I'll always be the typical "gringo with money" to the barrio folks, but they're friendly, fun and filled with a thirst for guaro and I'm here for it! I love it when the grandmas introduce me to their fellow barrio neighbors and almost always there's a young hottie to meet. Don't get me wrong, I still hang out in Poblado / Lauleres spots for a nice dinner date, and as matter of fact those were the places I exclusively stayed at my first couple years here (before the gringo gold rush) and I've been coming here for over 10 years.

In closing, I just read a couple reports about the recent pricing out in Parque Lleras and the strip clubs. And it's crazy what the going rates are now. I'm just glad it doesn't affect what I pay and who I pay because I hunt in a whole different way. For those here right now, enjoy the 'hoe'lidays!

4) Prepagos: I'm quite intrigued by this. Prices seem reasonable, ladies look lovely and do answer to an agency. Seems like a good bet. But minimal reports on the ISG re: using these services. I use agencies frequently in my travels, so am a bit concerned that this isn't commonly used in MDE. Any reason why?

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the Online Escort Agency scene that isn't present in any other place, but it has the same issues you'll see elsewhere.

1) Higher prices. You pay higher prices for the "simplicity" of a safer, point-and-click interface if you use the agencies.

2) Professional. You are more likely to get a standard floor to your experience but you are also more likely to get a cookie-cutter, by-the-numbers session.

3) Girl Quality. The better agencies will do less photo manipulation and will not bait-and-switch you, but some guys are expecting some 10/10 model to show up and aren't realistic about who will actually show up. It's sometimes better to see the girls first before ordering.

Overall, it's fine to make use of it if you're less price sensitive, lazy, and / or ordering during off-hours (like early afternoon), but you shouldn't expect the girls to hang around longer than the time you have booked for and should expect something a bit more business-like. I'm planning a trip to Medellin in the spring likely April / May which I understand can be a rainy period. I don't mind a bit of rain, so I think I can tolerate it and ideally it will make things less busy on the tourist side of things.

Rain is never that strong and having been there all times of the year, I've learned it just can't be predicted properly. Rainy season can be dry and dry season can be rainy. It is never THAT intense for too long, so just bring a light waterproof jacket (like those light waterproof jackets they make for joggers) and you are fine. Sometimes if it rains 5-7 PM that can thin out the evening, but that's it.

I plan to stay in El Poblado / Provenza. Everything seems very close and convenient so it probably is splitting hairs going for one or the other.

Provenza is a small (very small) section of Poblado.

How would you, personally, go about pulling girls in Medellin for that type of interaction? Ideally a 4 or 5 star Hotel I love a nice hotel and it's something I'm willing to shell-out for. Europa suites and Haven look promising. The places with Jaccuzzis etc are tempting as I love a soak. How are the tubs received by chicas in your experience? Do the 5 star spots like the Marquee and the Charlie shut down any chica guests?

I've found that my favorite way to hobby is to have a chica back to my hotel room for extended play 1+ hours or TLN..
