Posts: 6734From the sounds of it this is all in your head. You mentioned the IO was neutral. Neutral means he / she doesn't give a crap why you're entering Indonesia. Vacation is the simplest answer. If and only if he asks what you plan on doing make something up like you're a food vlogger and you like Indonesian cuisine (maybe learn the names of the most popular dishes if you're paranoid). Tons of BS answers you can make up on the spot only if needed.

I've never heard of a single person having issues entering Indonesia. It's not Thailand.

Immigration officers tend to scrutinize certain Asian passport holders traveling solo because some try to migrate illegally for work. I travel there from the UK so it doesn't really matter for me but it makes me a bit nervous and wanted to know how others handle the tourism part in a city with no tourism. I don't want to get delayed at immigration in a country where language is a huge barrier and they dig all the details about my current and previous visits. Maybe I should say it commonly as Vacation instead of tourism like Gabacho suggested.
Thanks anyways for the funny comment about the hookers!

Posts: 102I have an Indian passport. The guards usually guide me through the manned lanes, saying that the automated lanes don't work for my passport. I'm not sure if this is accurate.

Posts: 40Its possible but in my experience that is not the case. I spent last night with a middle manager from the Jakarta branch of an international company who is a graduate of a university in America. I am an American college graduate and it would be impossible for her to bluff me on that. Early in the week I went to classic where the girl I went to the room with told me she was working there because she got screwed out 14 mil and had to pay off her debt. She says her cut from each session is 100,000 rupiah and that she was recruited to Classic from some kampung in Sumatra by a tik-tok ad. I figured something was up because she gave a blow job like she had only just learned what a blow job is from a tik-tok video day before which is almost the actual case. Between the SA woman and the girl from Classic getting 100.000 a session guess which one do you think fucked the shit out of me off and on for 14 hours straight. Well, OK, I will spill the beans. It wasn't the sad case from Classic. Another SA paramour is a middle manager from a Indonesian company that I met for the first time in person at her lunch hour. I dropped her off at her office building after our first getting to know you lunch meeting. She dresses and acts like a sexy librarian with the body of Jessica Rabbit. This one requested I get an STD test after showing me hers "so we won't have to worry about anything when we have bareback anal sex". During the month of road testing SA I have met enough women from there to get a sense of the range. Some have been better than others. But all of them have consistently been much much hotter than any of the woman I have been with at classic and its variants. There are a lot of reasons for why this might be which I will save for the inevitable rebuttal. So far the mix of SA girls I have encountered have mostly been professional woman in their mid to late 20's and a few early 20's University students. From this group the worst SA sex I have encountered is better than best sex I have had at classic, emporium, etc.

The way I look at it is yes SA ladies are more expensive. But they quality is much much better. There is absolutely no way I could get women this hot or this enthusiastic for the same price back home.
I think your speculation about undercover brothel workers is more likely to be true on tinder, which I also road tested over the summer. Without getting into the "does tinder privilege white dudes" argument I would say at least 2/3 of the woman I met through Tinder at some point asked for money. Some were up front some waited. A number of them were also upfront that their "day jobs" were as "therapists". Most of them were generally less attractive than the ladys from classic.

Posts: 250Dude, this literally made me LOL. You feel shy about talking to immigration because you think they're onto your game? Hate to imagine what you must be like with the hookers, LOL.
Why do you even imagine the immigration officer cares so much about the 200th person of the day's reason for touring the country?

Posts: 102What do you all tell the Immigration Officer?
Genuine Question About Immigration.
I've been to Jakarta three times so far. Once as a 2 day stopover on my way to Bali, and twice exclusively for mongering. Each time, when the immigration officer asked if I was there for business or tourism, I said tourism. Their response was always neutral, but it made me feel a bit awkward.
I admit it doesn't seem like the kind of place where most tourists would spend 10 days, let alone visit 2 or 3 times a year. I've thought about saying I'm visiting places like Yogyakarta or Bali after a few nights in Jakarta, but officers always ask for return flight tickets and hotel bookings. I know it's possible to show refundable bookings to back this up, but is that really necessary? Or am I just overthinking this?
What do you usually say during your visits? Would love to hear your experiences and advice!

Posts: 282I am hearing that Bandung has all the pretty college kids. And more normal gals vs. Rich kids schools in the Jakarta.
Go there, take fast train. Be nice to girls or try a dating app. Good lucks.
