This was more of an immigration issue than a prostitution issue, but full credit for a two for one deal. According the reports I saw there were NO Thai ladies arrested.

All the so call hotel tax doesn't mean it all stays in pattaya, Ten years ago, I was told officially there were only 350 government jobs in Pattaya, we are talking cops, fire, garbage, immigration, Doctors, nurses, impossible right! Majority are contracted when the register population grows so do that number by how much anyone guess? But last year reported budget for 2025 will be 19 Billion in which 16 is already accounted for do the math and that means 16 billion already taken for endless road word, garbage, police, wages that leaves 3 billion for new or emergency projects. So if beach road year after year 1 billion is allocated means a few millions taken off the top each year for the top dogs.

All smoke and mirrors no matter how you look at it, whether it be raids on Immigration or rounding up girls on Beach Road, cause a visit is going to be made each year. They don't have the resources and structural setup they want to be part of the International community doing so they get funding just like 10-15 million each year from the W. H. O. To fix being one of the worse countries to drive yet what do we see, signs! Does one really think an honest attempt is being made majority of money is all being pocketed.

So, when it comes to rounding up Immigration ladies working it is all smoke and mirriors, someone complaint because of that this is their solution. But since they have made it so easy for people to enter this country and stay should it be any surprise this is happening today, Before Covid, in Bangkok, Nigeria workers were all over Nana, then a complain in arrest and research realized majority of them were coming in on Student visa's after more digging the story always goes dead why it reaches names so high the story gets shut down.

The media here is under the control of the government they taper their writing to a point you never see real follow ups, digging expect anything like a 60 minute report don't hold your breath. Just a year ago and it was happening for years. The Chinese Triads had taken over half of the 72 provinces in Thailand the biggest ring was happening here in Pattaya, two of the largest entertainment building behind Big see, near Hollywood and Dilfer were taken over by one of the biggest bosses we are talking huge payments to the BIB Soi 9, Banglamung and the head man in Chon Buri, which Pattaya is part. Immigration in BKK, and Pattaya were handling out visa like candy. The Boss himself married the fat pig daughter of a General so he could operate freely being introduced to some of the richest faction in Thailand society to front their their money wasting in marrying he was given also Thai Citizenship This boss got so big and bold he brought in his own Chinese soldiers, even Chinese girls from the Mainland. My cousin flew in from H. K for one of his gatherings he told me it was like a scene from a Godfather movie he was running everything drugs, gambling, all under the usual name of import / export.

Before the raid, he got plenty of noticed and took off, in the raid it all started to unravel, but after the media write up for month it all gets shut down it goes too high up! The quietly replaced in Jomtien all the officials at the immigration in Jomtien. But now it is back to business as usual. So what you are talking is small stuff, it is all show and tell, some example's will be made but business as usual Laws are to be broken here. When there are raids here for Thais on Beach road, unless they are found with drugs pay a bit and go out and do it again. it Is recorded in a book not some computer, those who can pay, slip it under the table. I've knows a few girls on the Darkside, decent lookers police come to their club, arrest them papers not in order same as you haven't filled the Brown envelope enough. How they get out calls the Farang manager for example 50,000, do have negotiate, can't settle girls want out, police licks his chops makes a personal offer, let you out, tomorrow you meet me for dinner and suck my dick after. I take a guess majority of these Thai clubs, are owned by groups of Thai police same with majority of the gambling houses.

We can talk law all you guys want but the problem isn't the law. The only time you are going to get arrested is if you put yourself in a position to be arrested like so many fools, is stand on beach pull down your pants and billboard yourself, same as these stories of Russian having sex on the beach Stuff. You got to be pretty stupid to get arrested here. LOL.

The UN has some pretty good attorneys. Sex work in Thailand IS criminalized. That's what the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act does. You can't prostitute yourself in a prostitution establishment, etc. No one is saying it's not criminalized.

It's illegal to drive your car over the speed limit. Illegal to drive your car on the wrong side of the road. Illegal to drive it without the proper paperwork, and without a license and on and on. Some people here would argue that because of all those illegalities, driving must be illegal. It's not, and neither is prostitution in general. There is nothing in Thai law that says that having sex with another person who is 18 or older in exchange for something of value, I. E. , prostitution, is illegal. How it's done, where it's done, etc are criminalized to some extent. But not the act itself.

Decriminalizing prostitution takes away most of the exceptions written into the law now. That in turn helps protect the WGs. It wouldn't legalize prostitution, because it's already legal.

Thai law is not an argument. It's the law.

Show us the law. The actual law showing it is illegal.

A friendly reminder. You are not the Pattaya police, a thai lawyer, a thai sex worker, a thai bar girl, and you did not repeal Thailands 1996 Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act.

Again, show us the law that states it is illegal. It is not hard to find for any other illegal activity after all. Why are you trying to reverse the situation? Does the law list every profession or act that is legal? No, it is illegal activities that are stated in laws. Murder is easy to find without any qualifiers required. So why isn't prostitution?

It has nothing to do with how tolerant law enforcement is with applying the law. There still needs to be a law for them to be tolerant about it. Similar to how in the Netherlands there is a tolerance to certain soft drugs. The Netherlands is known for this, yet the law (article 2 of the opiumlaw) specifically states that those drugs are illegal. Regardless of enforcement, there needs to be a law for something to be illegal. You can keep dancing around the topic, but unless there's even a single law stating prostitution itself (so not the side activities) is illegal, you have no argument.

This just comes across as illiterate and sad at this point. There's no legal text supporting you and certainly no policy either.

27 Dec 2024 CHON BURI - Twenty women from different countries were arrested in Pattaya beach town on Friday for allegedly providing sex services.
