Since I've returned from my "Escape the Philippines' Christmas Season Insanity" trip in late December, I've noticed the SJIT area has been mostly deserted. Also, I haven't seen any obvious street-standers at the plaza for several months.

She says that about a week before Christmas, local law enforcement conducted a large SWAT sweep of the SJIT area. 8 pimps were arrested and illegal drugs were found on many, while 13 girls were "rescued" and told to stay away. Thursday night, I left one of the area's hostess videoke bars at 1 am. While driving down the mostly deserted (R.) Calo Street toward the highway, I stopped to talk to a short, thin, and dark-skinned girl standing in the shadows under a building overhang with no pimp nearby. 24 years old and fairly pretty to the eyes of this semi-drunk old guy. Definitely hesitant and wary of dealing with a foreigner, but financially desperate enough to take a chance on a late rainy night.

I tip the security guys in many Phils hotels because then they look after you. Quite often, and on many occasions, they've lined up girls for me. Just make sure the room you book is for two people.

And no, it won't be 10,000.

It is 5000 in total, as I said in my post. 2500 bar and 2500 girl. Some bars you pay the 5000 upfront and then tip the girl if she is good at the end, other bars have different rules Talk to the Mamasan and make sure the arrangement is all agreed with the girl to avoid any confusion. Depending on where you stay you may not need to tip security. FYI, if you are in Makati (P. Burgos Street bars) then the Barfine is usually 4 k plus what you agree to pay the girl ST or LT (4 k to 8 k), so its cheaper in Sabang.

Do I have any options other than to bar fine a girl and take her back to the resort for the night? Do any of the clubs have private rooms or that sort of thing? Any hourly hotels?

I've been hearing bar fine prices around 5000 php. Does this typically include the cost of service? Or is this only money for the bar and the girl gets paid separately? If I am paying a girl separately, what is a fair price? From what I've read, most of the action is in the clubs. Should I consider street walkers?

I have been going to Puerto Galera / Sabang for a number of years for diving which is the main reason for going there and also enjoying the nightlife. There are a number of girl bars / clubs which should keep you entertained. But Sabang is not Angeles City, as it is much smaller and therefore less choice of bars and girls. In answer to your questions:

1. You should have no trouble with the main hotels / diving resorts in bringing a girl back for the night. As far as I know, there are no hourly-rate hotels in Sabang.

2. The clubs in Sabang don't have private rooms, so its all take-out.

3. You are right the main action is in the bars. In Sabang, unlike Makati, the bar fine (5000 php) includes the service of the girl for LT. I advise you check with the girl's mamasan that the girl is all night (LT) and what's included e. G. BJ, BBBJ. To avoid any disappoint. If the girl does a good job then you can give her a tip (500 php) as she only gets half the bar fine (2500 php) and the bar keeps the rest.

4. There are street-walkers later at night along the recently built sea wall road. If you get one, take care to lock away your valuables in your room. Remember some street girls are there because the bars do not hire them as they caused trouble in the past, don't have ID, or only fake ID. So you are safer getting a girl from the bar if you are a first-timer in Sabang.

I was across the street and the music was so F-ing loud there was no way I could even enter that place or even stand outside the place.

Yes there were 2 discos, open air ones, but they are gone, now is only one indoor, with big screens and much louder music. The thing is that is so loud, and so crowded, that you can really talk to anybody, or see anything inside. Also you'll have to pay before, to be able to see what's inside, no peeking. Mostly groups going in there. Some people gather outside, but not like it used to be at the former ones 5 years ago. The biggest crowd I saw was outside Nigi-Nigi.
