As for how it happens the market participants reach an agreement. That is called market equilibrium. How markets work has always been a personal interest of mine ever since I first saw the Wall Street Journal as a child.

As long as the law of the land allows for prostitution nothing in the Dominican Republic will change in that regard. The more sophisticated among us might want to pay attention to the current macro issues affecting the current economy (GDP growing at between 5 to 6 percent annually is just one example). As the Dominican Republic becomes more affluent (and if you happen to venture outside of the popular puta pueblos you will see this happening on a macro and micro economic scale) it is going to have a profound effect on the culture we currently enjoy in this country.

Not so sure why the reinterpretation of history is being engaged in by some people. But, I have been deeply involved in the actual events in real life in the Dominican Republic for a long time (Think Business Ownership). Watching the cost of the inputs to my business increase while having to raise the cost of my projects. I have even absorbed and taken the hit on some of the price increases to my supplies to keep my products affordable for the pueblo I serve.

Prices have gone up in real life. That is why the Prostitutes in Sosua are charging higher prices. Because their costs IRL have gone up. Argue about amounts all you want. But the only thing that I know that cost less over the years (that I lived in the Dominican Republic) is the calculator on my iPhones that I have owned over the years. They are free. But if you want a calculator in real life you still have to pay for it. Unless you get one as a promotion from a company for free.

You do understand that 6000 DOP is less than 100 USD at todays exchange rates? So how much has pussy really increased in cost?

Back when girls were asking 1500, routinely offered 1000 and it was accepted: 42.85 USD when the exchange rates was 1 USD to 35 DOP. Now when I first arrived in the Dominican Republic the exchange rate was 1 USD to 32 USD.

I do not know what Short Time prices are in the Dominican Republic at this time. But 42.85 x 60 equals 2571 DOP. So if you wanted to assume there was not inflation at all for the last 10 - 15 years that is the current price 2571 non inflated. Now inflate the 2571 to todays prices and see if there is a real difference.

Markets have been operating that way for ever, since the first hunter traded a mammoth leg for new spears, and the farmer traded 10 sheep for a virgin. They didn't need no WSJ. LOL.

But what happened to the market in Sosua is ls what is helping kill it for the casual monger. Namely, The Internet.

Sosua was always there. I talk to guys that have been here for 20 years or more. But it was one of those places in the World the general public had never been aware of. It wasn't until the WWW that folks started discussing it online and promoting it. Like how he natives were friendly and had no hang up about sex. The were poor and would happily trade their bodies for trinkets, because it was legal, and they even seemed to enjoy sex! LOL. The game was on!

Then came the Media outrage from the virtue signalers, pearl clutchers, and the do-gooders in the West, who described in detail how young beautiful women were lining up to welcome Western sex prisoners, and that made Sosua and other places more popular than ever with guys like me, who wanted to see this little puta paradise before I died!

With the resulting explosion of visitors, the infrastructure, airlines with daily flights, girl friendly hotels, restaurants, catering to it, it became commercialized, and the result was the inflation of demand vs supply. Now it's getting a little more like the West, not so in your face, sex by appointment, and consequently more expensive.

But it's a work in progress and we can enjoy it before it changes totally into my Toronto, which is now reduced to literally thousands of hole in the wall AMP's manned by aging fat Chines ladies, who don't even switch off their phones, while jerking you! Off! And high end escort services run by the gangs.

I remember some guys discussing on El Conde about how someone stole there shit out of the safe in their BnB and hotels before. And one guy told them to record putting your stuff in the safe therefore you'll have solid proof. The truth to the matter either you're going need a fireproof box with a cable cord and attach it to something they won't be able to remove it with unless they have some power tools.

The power tools and cables might take a little more time to pack for the trip, and don't forget an extension cord!

I remember going to this one Haitian restaurant for food and I was about to pay with cash and some Haitian lady was literally peering into my wallet to see how much I had. I politely left and told her I don't do business with thieves.

So do a little reno job in the hotel safe cupboard, or limit the amount of cash you carry, or hide it in the hidden compartments in your cargo shorts, or don't flash your wallet to strangers, or just avoid German Bars. To be truly safe, do all 6 things and stay in your room. Alone!

Too bad about the broken teeth, but I can recommend a good local dentist, which is one of the perks of living in Sosua. Cheap good dental work, and cheap brand name drugs and anti-biotics available at the local pharmacia's. Without a Doctors prescription.

I was charged an extra 200-450 pesos this one woman told me she had to charge me extra than what was discussed was because it has been very slow and she has to make up for last revenue.

It used to be a Dominican place that used to sell cheap hot fresh meals (cash only) well they remodeled the building and the end result is that the place no longer sells hotel fresh meals but old meals that taste stale and to make matters worse I broke my teeth on some fried chicken.

I'd budget 3 to 5 k, most guys can find satisfaction within that range, and you may wind up another winner.

4000RD is the short term price, only locals get the opportunity for that price overnight. Overnight prices literally starts off at $100 for Haitians and $200 for Dominican women. If a woman offer you that rate for overnight expect her to try to steal from you especially in a place like Sosua the cost of living is very high there for Dominicans thus it's not sustainable for them.
