Posts: 218This is very scary! I've had bareback sex but with girls I knew who were clean and not a puta. Imagine if even one of those girls you banged had a disease. Now all the other ones have the disease plus other men sleeping with those sick chicas.

If you go to Cuballama, there you can do recargas to your Cuba number before you get to Cuba.

Again, you need to do this before the period expires, I think it's about 11 month or so since your last recarga.
The way it works with Cuballama, once you register they'll ask what number you want to do the recarga for, there you put your Cuba sim number and they credit whatever amount you choose to purchase to that number. Btw, they are running a pretty good special now. Make sure if you go this route to get an explanation about the process since you mentioned about traveling next week.
Also, if you don't speak Español to ask for an English speaking rep. Their c.s. is very good as far as explaining things and getting the help you need.
Also Cubacel has a website where you can purchase a recarga but I think it's for tourist cards only, not sure if you can purchase a permanent sim card recarga.

Posts: 31There is somebody on every corner and every barrio that can charge it for you. Simply tell them your phone number and they charge it for you. For about 500 pesos. You can do it online also but you need to get help from a local. You have to ask around to find the person that charges the phone for 500. Havana is full of fraud at every corner. Don't pay more than 500 pesos or you getting hustled.

Posts: 144How to reload Cuban sim card?
Hi, can you help please. I have a permanent Cuban Sim card (not tourist sim). I was lucky enough to get one in August trip from my Cuban friend.
However, I could never get a straight answer from her or several other people on how to reload the card! Is it as simple as buying a 500-peso recarga card from "many places on every other street corner", and then inputting the numbers from card into your phone with the SIM?
Thanks for your help. I go to Havana next week and want to be prepared.

Posts: 262No condom sex is available. Just ask and you may have to pay a little extra
On my last 2 trips, I got bareback pussy from about 30-40% of the girls 3 out of 6 in July, 3 out of 11 in October.
Obviously not all were willing, but I just ask nicely if we can move forward without the condom. Some will hesitate, then proceed, others will say no, others will hesitate and ask for more money and then proceed.
Bottom line. Ask if they'll go "sin condon" or "sin preservativo". And you've got a good chance of it happening, at least based on my experience.

Have to agree 100% with Chris H, When it comes to la Habana the chase is different than the other places mentioned, ie. , DR, Colombia, Brazil, etc.

Lots of chicas in Cuba are in such poor economic shape that (if you have some game) they'll gladly hook up for a good time, eating out, drinks etc.
On my many trips there that's what I aim for. Honestly, where I live (Los Angeles) there's so much for us to choose from that it'd be so counter productive to visit Cuba to chaise and pay for tail there. Yes, I know is quite a bit cheaper there, but again, when you ad up airfare, lodging etc it's prolly cost wise about the same as paying here for Koreans cuties or the MP joints which are lower in cost.
Even lower, cost wise, is Tijuana, a couple of hours away.
Just one piece of advise for anybody, play it cool and do not treat the chicas you meet like putas. I'm talking about the ones that are not the hard core ones.
Thanks again to King Santo for posting and all the info he's provided.

Posts: 620You are exactly correct. You have to move different in Havana. Many of the guys that come down with me to Havana, have the Sosua, Colombia, Brazil mentality, and you got to let that go when it comes to Havana. That's why I enjoy it so much, No Point and Click. Got to use your mouth piece a little bit.

Just wondering if all sex in Cuba is "con batido" which is short for "with preservative" (condom) or if there is any natural sex without preservatido?
The Cuban girls I did all required batido. The sex was just like a handshake, as long as it was with a condom the girls all were willing.

Yessir, to use La Nave, you need a Cubacel SIM card. More specifically, you need a Cuban phone number so that you can receive the confirmation text when you sign up. After you're signed up, you're able to set your email and password so you won't necessarily need the number after that. The tourist SIM card is valid for 7 days so if you come back and have a different number, it's fine; there's an option to change your number within the app as needed. I can't speak on the prices of the regular taxis because I've never taken one but the La Nave rides ranged from 800-2700 pesos ($2. 50-$9). The vast majority of my rides were around the 900-1100 peso range. I was in Vedado so to get to places like La Rampa or Pazillo Fresh or Papi Rey it was always 900-1100. Havana Vieja 1100-1200. The only time it was 2700 was when I sent the slim girl home but she lived pretty far away, so the price made sense to me.
La Nave works exactly like Uber. The only difference being that you have to select on the map where you want to go. You can't really search "Hotel Manzana" and then go there but it's easy once you get used to it. Just use your Google / Apple maps to see where the location is and put it in La Nave. It'll give you a rough estimate of the price and it's almost always spot on. Extremely reliable, always works and the ride always got accepted within 60 seconds. The drivers will normally call you right away to confirm that you actually want the La Nave and after that he's on his way. A lovely, lovely app. And that's not hyperbole. It's really that good. When you arrive at your destination, the final price is displayed very prominently on the driver's phone so there's never any confusion on how much you owe.
As for Pazillo Fresh, I paid in pesos, I'm not sure if they take USD but they actually pick up their fucking phone so I recommend just calling and asking once you get your SIM card. In Santo Domingo, I only pay in Dominican pesos so I followed the same protocol in Cuba. The only time I spent actual dollars was in Cohiba Atmosphere for the cigars but I knew beforehand from research that they only take USD (and make sure your bills are perfect with no rips; one of my 10's had a slight corner missing and they didn't want to accept it. I had more so I just switched it out no big deal). I also paid for my taxi from the airport in dollars because I didn't have pesos yet.
Papi Rey is more of a fast food spot (there's no seating). I go there to change my money. Excellent rates. I just walk in and say "I'm here to change" in Spanish. They have you wait outside for 1-2 minutes and then one of the owners takes you to a back room and exchanges your money for you. In my 4 days there the dollar was booming so the rates were 305,310, 315 and then 320. It seems to be popular for changing money because sometimes there's a line of Cubans, but it moves quickly. Always check El Toque before and always ask for the rate once you're in the back room. Just to be sure. Beware that they generally only have 200-peso and 100-peso bills. I know people in the forum don't like that (and neither do I) but it's so convenient, quick and trustworthy that I just kept going. They give you the money rubberbanded up in set amounts so as a workaround, I just kept the money in the bands that they gave me (for example, the bill at El Biky was like 10,600 pesos. Cool. I drop a 10 K peso band and just count out the other 600. Super simple).
Thanks for the heads up on the 10% tax. It seems that most "official" restaurants charge that so I was prepared. In DR you get charged an 18% sales tax and then a 10% "gratuity" on top of that so the 10% sales tax in Havana was A-okay with me!
I hope this information is helpful for you and thanks for the food recommendations. I've written them down for my next trip.
Best.
King Santo.

Found the place you mentioned, Pazillo Fresh, nice to know since I stay not far from there. Do they take CUP, USD or both?
Also, you mentioned Papi Rey, is that a place to buy CUP or something else?
Yeah, I hit El Biky a lot when I visit, clean place and affordable for us visiting. Heads up, when you get the bill they ad a 10% automatically like they do in Europe. First time I went I tipped them not realizing the tip was already included in the bill!
Can't wait to get there for my trip next month.
Saludos.

ps, In case you enjoy Cuban and Spanish food I recommend Los Nardos. It's in front of the Capitolio Nacional, on the 2nd floor. There is also another restaurant on the 3rd floor, not sure what type of food they do there. I know Cuban@s love Los Nardos. Affordable and clean.

Day 3:
Here is where things start to get interesting. So last night before going to bed, I send a message to the slim girl that I didn't get to meet for lunch because of the miscommunication. The post nut clarity made me realize that I was a little out of pocket and should try her again. I say "Hey, I still want to meet you, hit me up in the morning when you wake up" and go to sleep next to the Badoo chica I had just smashed.
I wake up in the morning and I have a text from the slim girl. Nice. She still wants to see me and we set something up for later in the day. Okay now I'm feeling good. I send the Badoo girl from the previous night home in a La Nave, shower and realize that I actually haven't drank any water in two days. I was so pissed with Cuba that I forgot to buy water! My AirBnB host says they can get me mini water bottles at $1/ each. Bro I'm not new to this, stop the nonsense. My first day you try to change my money for 250, now you want me to buy mini water bottles at $1/ pop? No.
I hop in a La Nave and head to this grocery store named "Pazillo Fresh". They have full bottles of water at 200 pesos each. Nice, I'll take 10 of them thangs. I look around and notice this place has a lot of American sodas and a ton of alcohol. At great prices! I ask what time they close, he says 11 PM. Ohhh you'll definitely be seeing me again. I hop in a La Nave headed home and guzzle down 3 of the waters. Didn't realize I was that thirsty. At this point I'm starting to get hip to Havana and I know things close early so now it's time for cigars. I hop in a La Nave to Hotel Manzana and go into a spot named "Coheba Atmosphere". It was worth the wait because man their cigar selection is crazy. The Cuban attendant there helps me pick out 3 mild cigars (1 Montecristo, 2 R&J's). $58 total (expensive but they were so worth it). I head back out and I get a phone call, it's a barber from one of the places that were closed yesterday. He does house calls for 1000 pesos. Okay, now I'm starting to fuck with Cuba. I take a La Nave home and the barber arrives on time with his tools and cuts my hair in the AirBnB. He does an incredible job, I give him 3000 pesos. My power levels are definitely over 9000 now.
Right on queue the slim girl hits me up, she's ready and she wants to pay for her own taxi. Okay, I'm definitely not used to that. She pulls up and tells me she's downstairs. I walk downstairs and oh my God this is one of the most naturally beautiful women I've ever seen in my life. Holy shit. I bring her up into the apartment and we chat a bit. I find out she's in her last year of law school. I want to take her out to eat but I've got to change my money. We hop in the La Nave and head to Papi Rey. She tells me she wants to wait outside, doesn't want to see me change my money. Oooo I like this girl. She was purposely looking away when I paid the La Nave too. Interesting. I walk in and ask the rate. It's 315 now. Now I really like this place. I get 31.5 K pesos and we hop in a La Nave back to my place so I can put the money up.
We take another La Nave over to a restaurant named "El Biky". 2 Croquetas Appetizers, 2 beers, 2 malt drinks, chicken entre with vegetables and a fish steak with vegetables and an extra side of rice. 10 K pesos. Okay Cuba is growing on me. La Nave back to my place and we're chilling playing UNO (I highly recommend taking a deck of UNO with you wherever you go), this girl is so sweet she'll give you a damn toothache! I'm thoroughly enjoying her company. Remember that grocery store from before? Time to go back and get some liquor. Bottle of Cuban rum, 2 Pepsis, 2 red bulls and cookies, 9600 pesos. Now I'm really starting to like this girl. I tell her to get anything she wants and all she asks for is 2 Pepsis and 2 Redbulls. We had already agreed to spend the day together tomorrow so I'm like "get whatever you need for two days". She repeats herself "2 Pepsis, 2 Redbulls". Okay this girl is definitely not Dominican, wow. I'm blown away.
Hop back in the La Nave to the AirBnB and do the deed. She has a few things to take care of in the morning so I send her home in a La Nave and give her money for the taxi fare. I sit outside on the terrace of my AirBnB, Montecristo in hand, absolutely sauced off of this Cuban rum and thinking to myself. "Cuba? I think I actually like you quite a bit. You're growing on me".
Looking forward to Day 4 (my last day before leaving). I think I'll be back. I see the potential.
Best,
King Santo.

Yup. Things started off slow because I was trying to move in Havana the way that I move in Santo Domingo and that just doesn't work in Cuba. Completely different animal; but I did love the challenge and I definitely see the potential. I'll likely be back.

Posts: 262Your experience is so familiar!
After a very rough first day, I was also feeling like, "Man, fuck this place! It's horrible, a dirty nasty shithole and I can't wait to never come here again!
Then I had a good day or two, and then I went back 2 more times, with the 3rd trip the best!
So yeah, it takes a little while to get used to the weird way that Havana operates, the way the girls operate, just how life is so very different there than here, but once you get your feet, it's amazing.
Enjoy!
