I can answer this one. This works almost anywhere.

Go to Thailand. Plan on spending 3 to 6 months. Go away from the tourist areas, far away. Find an area that is the local economic equal of your own standard of living. Settle down and start being friendly learn some of the language, get to know your neighbors. You'll start getting to know the local women and you can find one you connect with.

How did they get to be girlfriends if he did not click with them? Probably because you do not look for relationships the same as you do not look for friendships. Like you said, they just happen. The first day of class you can not look for friends. 30 kids and certain ones just naturally gravitate to each other. It can be done, but you need a lot of luck. It will also take time. Stay away from bar girls and try your luck with Thai Friendly. Be quick to move on if you sense she is in it only for the money. Met a guy last trip who moved to Thailand looking for a long term relationship and planning on living in Thailand. After seven months he was going back home. He had gone through several girlfriends and couldn't find one he clicked with. I would tell you go and enjoy yourself and not worry about long term relationships. If it happens it happens.

Bro. Our office is full of them weekly. I will tell you some horror stories that will make you cringe, laugh, and cry all at the same time. The biggest amount we have had was 30 million baht. Imagine that? Guys thinking with their smaller head instead of the big one mate.

You guys have done a great job making the Pattaya thread utterly useless now. If anyone wants to post there or read about Pattaya they must weed through pages of dribble on prostitution legal arguments between people without any legal background in Thailand.
