Premium removes the time limitation. It's especially helpful when you're either pre-gaming an area before you arrive to set up dates or when you hit the ground and you want to message a bunch of girls right away. So I disagree that this is an unnecessary expenditure. It's cheap anyway, and depending on how you game it can be very helpful.
