I respectfully disagree with Explorer. Udon Thani is one of my favorite destinations. It is not expensive. Stay at Panarrai Hotel for $30 (or less) a night, or better yet, Banbua Grand for $40 a night.

I sometimes stay at Centara because I like that it is located directly by the huge shopping mall and still walkable to the bars (five minutes).

Barfines at every bar is 500 baht, sometimes less if it is late in the evening. You can find ST for 1000 at almost every bar. LT 2000 - 3000 baht. Go to Country Bar if you don't need the 23 year old spinner. Ladies there are told by the boss never to ask customers for drinks. It's chill. Very laid back. I will take Udon Thani and Hua Hin any day over Bangkok. I can't comment on Day and Night because its always too loud in there for me. I prefer the smaller bars on the main drag. The ratio of ladies per farang is usually outstanding.

Now there are bars there that will try to take advantage of you. Meeting Place is one. The chubby Mamasan there always asks customers to purchase her drinks. I would not go to Meeting Place.

Full Throttle bar (after dark), Dollar Bar are other places I've had success for bottom of the barrel rates.

Is Udon Thani a mongering destination? Compared to Pattaya and Bangkok, no. But for a laid back vibe and easy, affordable access, it is great.

I like Udon Thani a little bit and enjoy my stays there, generally speaking, but 2-3 nights is tops for seeing what it has to offer.

Options for bars and nightlife away from the Samphan Thamit Alley area are very poor I've found.

As to accommodation, I stay in The Old Inn UdonThani or at Home at Udon, both are very comfortable and on the street of action.

I've enjoyed a lot of the bars around there, my only complaints being withe the bars in Night & Day who impose minimum drinks numbers before barfines allowed.

Hmmm, I like the sound of that. I might just be into the whole laid back vibe. I've never been outside of Bangkok, been thinking about Phuket, but Udon Thani might just be the place I'm going to want to try. Thing is so many Issan girls in Bangkok, why don't I try going to Issan where the girls are from right? I don't know when or if I'll ever be able to get myself back to Thailand again, but I'll take your advice friend, I hope I can remember all this, let's hope Full Throttle and Dollar Bar are still open by the time I get there some day.

I found the selection in Udon Thani to be lacking. I like Nong Khai which is a 40 minute drive away. Selection there is also lacking but I like being on the river and the the vibe is just right for me. And Vientianne, Laos is just across the river. You can find a girls in Udon and Nong Khai but it's a little more work.

Nong Khai: Down the street from the White Inn are a handful of small bars with a few ladies. Not a big selection, though.

I stayed at the Pannarai a couple of weeks ago. Day Night is okay, my point was that it's not a mongering destination like Pattaya, if you have to go to Udon Thani, it's a okay place to find ladies.

Typically, action in Isaan cities is sparse and expensive.

Although ladies will migrate from other places to Pattaya or Bangkok to find customers, nobody migrates to Sakhon Nakhon. So the supply of ladies is largely restricted to areas near Sakhon Nakhon. Which means the lady has family or a spouse nearby. This is a constraint that doesn't exist in Bangkok or Pattaya.

Isaan cities have mongering opportunities, but they are not mongering destinations.

I hit the Day Night plaza last night. Soi Farang has a lot more massage places now, and there are a few more bars.

As usual, the ladies work bar in Udon Thani because their Thai boyfriend doesn't want to go to Pattaya. Otherwise the ladies would be off looking for big money.

Near White Inn (in Nong Khai), there are a handful of Farang bars. The street is very quiet, and most of the bars have 2 or 3 ladies.

Nong Khai is a fun town to visit. I mentioned in my report that there is a woman that hangs out almost all day at the bar directly across from the White Inn. She literally manages a good percentage of the working girls in town. She is a great contact. I suspect you're not traveling to Nong Khahi alone.

I am heading to Nong Khai for a couple of days en route to Laos. I've never spent time in NK, I recall there being a little action, per reports here before COVID.

I can confirm Allover's account. I was in Nong Khai in April 2023. I arrived in the morning around 10 and tried to check in at White Inn. The room wasn't ready yet so I walked across the street to Jimmy's Restaurant and bar. As I was eating my breakfast, the older Mamasan sat next to me, asked if I was alone, and told me about her bar down the street, Jimmy's Bar. She owns both Jimmy's Restaurant and Jimmy's bar at the opposite end of the street. She told me she had plenty of beautiful ladies if I want company. After breakfast she told me to come to her bar, even offered me a ride although it is only a two minute walk. The bar name is "Jimmy's 2". Even though it was early, she called three or four of her ladies and told them to go the bar. Soon ladies were there talking with me and it was only 11 am in the morning.

It was very hot, and after a couple rounds for the ladies, I said I was tired and wanted to lay down but my room wasn't ready at White Inn. One of the ladies told me there was a hotel across the street with plenty of rooms. It was only like $10 a night, so she walked me over there, I got a room that had air conditioning and rested until my other room was ready.

I spent a few nights there. Ladies are happy to keep you company any time of day. There were two young Laotian cuties in there early 20's. We had a lot of fun together. Even went to Tawan Dang a couple of nights to listen to live music. That was a blast. Good company and good boom boom.

I was in Nong Khai in 2019 and there was another Lady bar area close to the river, but I can't seem to remember the names of the bars or find them on the map. Don't know if Covid forced them to shut their doors permanently. There were three or four bars in a small alley. Maybe someone on this board will know the names of them.

Was in Udon Thani recently. Spent most of my time at Country Bar. Met a gal who I don't remember previously seeing. A real spinner. Looked to me to be in her late 20's. She seemed very shy when we met at the bar. Once back in the room, after a few beers, she was wild in a good way. Ended up spending three nights with her. More than once she awoke me in the middle of the night wanting more action. Very tiny tits, very tiny box too. She has one kid, but I would not have known if she didn't tell me.

Stopped in Meeting Place one afternoon and purchased owner and two of the ladies drinks. One of the ladies I really wanted to BF, but I couldn't stop thinking how much fun the lady at country bar was.

He always had a huge smile on his face. She is gorgeous. She begins work at 11 am each day when the bar opens. My spinner does not report to work until 9 pm.

Maybe someday I expand my bar schedule in UT. But always know I will be happy at Country bar. Bar owner instructs ladies to never ask for drinks, which is nice.
