It's an unfortunate reality but it comes with the territory. That's one of the most frustrating things about Filipinas and Thai girls in the game, they think the gravy train will carry on forever. I don't doubt for one bit the past it ladies had suitors willing to marry them and take them away from the life, but as the saying goes you can take the girl out of the bar but you can't take the bar out of the girl. While I'm aware that I can't be Mother Theresa, I feel at peace with myself by doing these little things. I have my charity spending limit set at 400/ day and I'm not out there daily, so it adds up to max $100/ month for the "guilty tax". I know that lots of guys think is stupid what I'm doing, I wish I was rich, so I can help some more, but mongering is the main purpose of being in the PH so that takes precedence.

I am not sure where you are going with this but one cannot gorge when everyone around one starves. I am quite happy to throw a LITTLE money around and I do that a lot when in the Philippines, not because I am Jesus but because it does make a difference and I know I have been scammed in small ways many times. Don't sweat the small stuff etc.

Lester Pigott was a famous jockey, who was as tight as fuck with money. One day, returning from a race with another jockey, they pulled into a gas station where he bought two ice creams and ate both of them himself. Not a fun guy.

Last time, there were specific incidents where I came to the aid of honest women who were ripped off, as the money, small to me, was big to them. I asked a fellow European who hires folk locally what he would have done and he says he would have fired the culprit and make my pal pay up. That is what eventually happened though I gladly picked up her tab and have no regrets over it or many similar generally forgettable deeds. I would do them all again if that were possible.

The difference, besides basic philosophy of life between me and you lot, is I know I have a way back out to home. I imagine that, were I to live in the Philippines, the nagging would be non stop and I also imagine it works on some folk. In Balibago, small time punks scout the area and knocikng off the apartments of foriegners for TVs, phones etc happens a lot. They climb buildings to get into higher storied wndows, Petty crime is a reality and being a foreigner = target on your back.

So, last year in June I asked in the Thailand, Pattaya forum and everyone recommended to go to the Philippines instead for a cute travel GF. I'm 23 years old.

I still went to Pattaya for a couple of weeks just to see for myself but didn't like the scene there at all. The girls were hardcore professionals, I hardly found girls I that I would have liked.

Of the 86 girls I only met 3 and hat sex with 2. The problem was getting them to meet you for the first date. Some of them have never met a foreigner.

Some examples:

- You will spend weeks chatting with a girl from the same city just to find out she does not want to meet in person. Her requirement: 1 year of chatting before meeting a guy in person. Yeah right! Thanks for wasting my time.

- Girls are really flaky and even if you play the long game with weeks of chatting and videocalls, chances are she cancels the meeting the last second.

- Telling them to come straight to my hotel and being a bit aggressive and more pushy didn't work either and will shy them away even more.

- Many of them agreed to meet but only far away in another city, even if you are near them. They fear public places with many people the most.

- You get to meet them but she brings her cousin, her friends or another family member so you have to pay for all of their food in the restaurant and you can't really try anything.

- One 19 year old managed to visit me for my second date. She stayed the night and we were kissing and cuddling. Wouldn't undress. When I tried to escalate things she said she's a virgin and she is not ready yet. When asked when she would be, she said maybe next month. Thank's, but I can't stay in this small city for another month.

The 2 girls I actually had sex with, had obligations (school) and couldn't travel anywhere else with me.

For me, Mindanao was a total letdown.

I'm sure you can have fun with girls 25+ because they seemed more open to me, and I saw a few other foreigners 60+ there, but the women they were with are way out of my age range 18-20.

I don't know how it is boots on the ground in other parts of the Philippines (Manila, Angeles, Leyte, Samar, Negros) and I hope someone can share some insights because when I look at the posts here, I know it's possible to have fun.

My first reply to you was correct your age will be a issue. Then I more closely read your post, you were in Mindanao. Uh yeah that can be tough even for older guys. Is it possible, oh yes but it requires a bit more time, but true the women down there are beautiful. That's more a retirement destination to apply our hobby, two or 3 weeks can be iffy. I went there once myself, tons of interest but takes a get to know you period, did not seem practical for the short timers.
