Look up the Google for some conference happening in Thailand related to your field and register for it. Then you can show it as business expense.

Yes, happened once.

Now before booking I inquire the girl about their first name to put on booking.

Generally they are comfortable sharing their name for booking.

If not, then I just say that once the second guest comes, will update name and ID.

Not not had any issues till now.

Also, Generally I book dayuse hourly or airbnb (with self check in. Key in lockbox).

Same sort of issue faced by me in IBIS and they insisted me to provide the 2nd guest name. Since I knew her real name, I written the name and told them ID will provide later.

But unfortunately she couldn't join me because of her personal issues. So at the time of Check Out they said that, 2nd Guest ID is missing in records. So I said she didn't come.

But the front office guy got suspicious and told me the 2nd guest name already mentioned here and ID is missing. Then he asked me to wait and told me he want to check CCTV footage.

After few minutes he said all clear.

SO you may tell them like that, my friend planning to join later and its not confirmed.

So if she comes, we will provide you the details at that time and this reply worked out well for me afterwards.
