Posts: 4637Nope, sorry, the US Constitution is for Americans not people who come to our country illegally and commit crimes, and when we were founded as a nation, we had slaves and only land owners could vote. Before an income tax and women could vote, the USA was the #1 economy in the world.

If the world were able to sue China for damages from Covid, they would be poorer than when they joined the WTO. China is no miracle. They had the largest population and enticed businesses to locate there so they could sell to that market however American businesses had to partner with China. China steals their secrets and goes out on their own and produces things at a much lower cost hurting the original Western businesses. People were enticed by lower prices, and our supply chains were stupidly moved there. Slave wages and theft do not impress me.

Their debt will strangle them.
Not even close. China is hugely dependent on Middle East oil and does not have the navy to keep it flowing. That is why the USA is getting out of the world's policeman / super power role. We are no longer dependent on foreign oil. Foreign trade is more of a luxury than a necessity for the USA now. Everyone wants to sell in the USA market and with that comes power that Trump is using.

The tariffs are put in place to negotiate better deals for the USA and to protect these newly formed manufacturers. You cannot have China and Vietnam dumping goods in at below cost to destroy these nascent industries. And we were bringing back supply chains even before Trump was in office. He is just accelerating the process.
Once we bring much of our production back to the USA, we will produce better goods than anywhere else.
Thing about the Chinese economic miracle is the people touting that do not live in China. It does not take anyone long to figure out China is hell once they are there. The civilized places are crowded as fuck. Twenty miles out of the city, and you are back in the Middle Ages. And the people who return from China are often sick from the food, air, and water.
Once the USA moves away from rewarding the people who do not produce anything like lawyers and hedge fund managers and starts to reward people who provide actual goods and services to the public, we will be fine, and that will happen.
By the way, the reason the market has been up the last 10 sessions or so is not just that Trump is striking deals, it is that the tariffs are not nearly as inflationary as the media is reporting, and the tariffs are needed to protect those investing in that new manufacturing.

Look up why President Nixon resigned. On this occasion I'll opt to disregard his wise words to point out that Trump swore to uphold the constitution. Try reading it slowly.
The OP (who is a guest) needs to start by reading the Constitution of the United States of America. Babies learn this stuff in school. Grow men should already know it.

Ok Spidy so we have a member of the party that houses racists under the guise of being conservatives saying Social Security is a hand out. Why do they continue to repeat that lie? You and I know why. It is because they are hopeful individuals will not call them on their misinformation (actually lies). No matter how many times they say it the facts don't change. My fellow Americans have paid into Social Security. Where is the hand out? Those same Americans also pay the taxes that fund the rest of the expenses on your list.

Who is receiving Social Security that was not a productive citizen before they began to receive it? Are individuals of the party that harbors (you know what) really that incapable of reasoning and rational thought? Or are they just numerically impaired.
Last question: I wonder out loud if the same people calling Social Security a hand out will also collect it when their times comes? They need to say yes.
Don't lie mother fucks!

When USA can t compete with China, or Europe quality for economics, when USA always made good business from wars, even when they lost, now USA new business is robbering poor Ukrainians, without not even protecting them. Okay, here's a reminder, in case you forgot, what that looks like in the real world, as to what are the different ways, that government spends your tax dollars? https://www.ramseysolutions.com/taxe...r-tax-money-go
• Health (29.1%)
• Social Security (16.2%)
• National Defense (16%)
• National Debt Interest (12.2%)
• Income Security (7.7%)
• Veterans Benefits (3.8%)
• Education (2.6%)
• Transportation (1.5%)
• Miscellaneous (10.9%) (ie. Agriculture, Justice, General government, Natural resources and environment, International affairs, Community and regional development ...etc)
So where's the parasitic spending?

Posts: 6685Checks and Balances are built into the Constitution of the United States of America
POTUS does not have to support the constitution. If he does not the Article II Branch of the USGOV can act.
https://www.senate.gov/about/powers-...mpeachment.htmAs adopted by the framers of the Constitution, this congressional power is a fundamental component of the system of checks and balances. Through the impeachment process, Congress charges and then tries an official of the federal government for Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
Why I have to explain this to grown men is beyond me. They must be guests if they don't understand it.

Trump's Meet The Press interview will go down in history as Exhibit A for the total idiocy of any human being left on Earth who believes a single syllable of anything that fat fucking liar says.

Posts: 250Trump says he does not know whether he needs to uphold the US constitution

Civilisations rise and fall. What precipitates their collapse? It's broadly one of two reasons. Firstly, it's another society ascertaining what made the incumbent civilisation so great, how to replicate and possibly improve upon these features through luck, circumstance, industry or other less respectable means. Take for example the UK, the birthplace of the industrial revolution, upon which the sun finally did set post WW2 which gave the impetus for America to exercise its latent industrial might.
The other reason is when the incumbent civilisation forgets the values or key sucess factors that bought it into prominence. There are whole books devoted to why the Roman empire collapsed with multiple reasons but amongst those will be prominent that the Roman empire became decadent, corrupt and had a succession of incapable leaders.
Both of these reasons are pertinent to America: take the aphorism that never in history of humanity have so many people been alleviated from so much poverty in such a brief period of time as in modern day China. The Chinese learned from Lee Kuan Yew how to generate such incredible economic growth and in doing so also refuted the notion that economic growth necessitates a democratic system.
Trump is the embodiment of the other reason for America's demise. If you reject the very values that made you great in the first place (would the American economy have expanded as it did in the absence of its constitution, or legal framework or social values?) and if the rot comes from within then there is no one left to blame.
America will remain a highly influential power on the world stage simply due to its economic size and resources and its military might but the sun is setting on its being the sole superpower. The ascendancy of China to rival America on an eye to eye basis was always probable but is now inevitable. And the worst of it is America has accelerated its decline itself.
The ROW's goal must now be to shape a new world order in which America and China can co-exist without a military or other kind of war, simply for self interest purposes. Whether that's likely is something I don't know.

However, the State Department emerged as the only agency among the 16 that did not have any credit cards canceled during this initial phase of the audit.
That is because Elon Musk is scared shitless of the Secretary of State! Even Musk know who he can fuck with and who he cannot in the USGOV! The Secretary of State does not play nor kiss Musk's ass. The Secretary of State stood up against Trator Musk in the first Cabinet Meeting that POTUS held and shut Musk down.

Posts: 6685Continuing the Policy Discussion in the face of fierce AD Hominem attacks!
Cute quote! And if they refuse the offer send them to CECOT where he belongs. Spanish: Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, abbreviated and commonly known as CECOT) is a maximum security prison in Tecoluca, El Salvador.
Those who look to El Salvador as an example of good government should go live there. It is a benevolent dictatorship hiding as a democracy clothing. My only respect is due to their stance on Bitcoin. Which they rolled back after they needed to get on their knees for a loan from the IMF.
Why is it that the only governments individuals who favor the views of the party that harbors racists only admire dictators and those that want to be dictators like Elon Musk?In December 2024, El Salvador and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reached a staff-level agreement for a $1.4 billion loan. The agreement, which outlines key policy commitments and structural reforms, remains subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board before the funds can be disbursed. However, concerns persist among civil society organizations and broader segments of the Salvadorean public that approval of an arrangement with the IMF could enable continued democratic backsliding and allow Nayib Bukele to further consolidate his authoritarian grip. The IMF Executive Board can help mitigate such concerns by enhancing transparency and accountability in the IMF-supported program. As a first step, including the following considerations into the IMF program would strengthen democratic norms and the rule of law in El Salvador, especially in the areas of governance and anti-corruption. Similarly, by improving consultation and encouraging communication with and the involvement of civil society actors, the IMF team, management, and the board would support broader public buy-in and strengthen program implementation.
In fact, those that have a problem with US Citizens who live outside of the Dis-United States of America are idiots who do not realize that those citizens pay taxes to the US Federal Government no matter where in the world they are living. So, outside services from the US State Department, Office of Consulate Services, me and my fellow Americans like me receive no benefits from our taxes. We retain our vote precisely because we pay taxes.
Individuals in the party that harbor racists that make statements that Social Security is a hand out are uninformed at best, liars at worst. If you have a problem with Social Security. Be a man. Write to your elective representative and your two Senators and tell them you support Social Security being means tested. You do know you can do that right?
You are aware of this provision in the United States Constitution:
If you didnt know, now you know! The First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If people played Hail to the Chief when I walked into the room. I would work with the congress to pass a law that required 4 years of military or civilian government service in order for you to earn your rights as a Citizen of the United States of America that could NEVER be forfeited or removed for any reason once you received it. There would be no exceptions to this law. You either serve your four years or you don't. The age of eligibility would the be age anyone can be tried as an adult in a court of law. Only citizens could work in the the civilian government or serve on juries. Only citizens could hold public office of any type in the country. Only female citizens could have babies. They can get knocked up by whom ever they wanted to take the dick from. But one the push their bundles of joy out of the womb and through their vaginas the baby does NOT become a citizen until they serve like their mother.

A rhetorical question; is a Chinese "weigh" a longer, shorter or the same length of time as a Trumpian "two weeks"? Lolol.

Now that Xi owns the market manipulation of the S&P 500, won it from Trump with the utterance of a single word, let's see where it goes when he uses the words "no longer weighing" in his pronouncements.
So Trump pulled an additional $17 Billion out of the pockets of the American Working Men and Women Consumers in April alone? Impressive.
And if the "expectations" were that Trump's sinking economy would only produce 133,000 jobs in April, I suppose even 133,001 would have "defied expectation". Still below what was produced in March, when it was a bit more realistic to identify it as "Biden's Economy", right? Way below.
I see so many Trumpsters' memes on the internet proclaiming how "great" things are now, how much better their economic conditions are now with lower gas and grocery prices, a safer border, sunny days, bunny rabbits and daisies abounding and all that.
How do you guys reconcile those claims while your guy is out there demanding that we see all this greatness as "Biden's Economy"?
Feeling betrayed yet?
