I'm with you. Not a plastic fan. Like natural bodies few tattoos and athletic or slim. Haven Hotel was pretty great. The rooftop bar and pool is kinda small, but they have parties every Friday and Saturday night with DJ, and pool party on Sundays, and it attracts a lot of native Colombian women. It also attracts alot of foreigners not even staying there, but who come specifically for the vibe. It's a great place to meet a lot of cool people and build connections. But as others have mentioned, stay true to your safe space. Don't venture out with others until you actually know / trust them. It's better to stay safe in your bubble then to venture out care free with people you have just met.

Fortunately, by staying close to my comfort zone, not dropping my guard, I never felt unsafe one time. Again, I've said it before, but I also have a good deal of street smarts, and if you don't have that naturally, you're going to need to be cautious, bc for naive people you can easily be taken advantage of.

Colombia was fun. Definitely could see myself going back. Met a girl with a legit Visa who is coming to visit next month. No problems with safety, but met plenty of people who said they had been drugged or know others who had. The one thing they seemed to have in common was hard core drinking and drugs. Also, they liked trashy women. I think there is something to the advice of avoiding overly tattooed trashy looking women to stay safe. I didn't realize how cheap everything actually is in Colombia until I looked at my credit card receipts back home. Ubers are ridiculously cheap. And a nice meal at a high end restaurant for two, with drinks, was only like $36 to $40 usd. At the time I thought I was spending at least $50 or $60 usd. Weird when you actually are spending less than you even expect. Conversion rates seemed to favor USD at this time. My only regret is there are a couple of women I could have met up with and just didn't coordinate well enough and looking back at some of the photos they sent I've got some remorse.

Probably will be back at some point. I just hope the conversations on this board have evolved by that time. Like 5 to 6 days straight of panties talk? At least move that discussion to Stupid Shit in Medellin at this point, or the Chit Chat forum.

Oh, and maybe gringo tax, but any massage place discussed on this forum was at least 2 x quoted price for me when I showed up in person. I did not partake.

Honestly, I don't prefer plastic / enhanced girls at all, and with the supposedly high prices of La Isla, I've just never found a reason to go. It does sound like it could be a good time though, maybe just to check that box off my to-do list.

What was the cover charge and did they require you to buy a drink / bottle? What was the minimum in "consumo", if there was one?
