I have a bit different take. In many ways I'm much more trusting of non-elected bureaucrats than I am of elected officials. Unfortunately it seems either way, elected or appointed we have a poor judiciary that is heavily influenced by money and corruption. And did you dictionary has undermined the true idea of trial by jury, meaning if it jury sees that a law is unjust they can vote to acquit.

Because conversely if the jury doesn't like the accused even though its obvious they aren't guilty they can still vote to convict.

I agree with most of what you wrote. I think what you do not get Goatscrot is how many laws are made by bureaucrats and unelected judges. Yes, ideally, Congress should make all the laws. In reality, at least executive orders are signed into law by someone who was elected. Well, maybe that was not the case with Biden who probably could not hold a pen, but at least it was true with Trump and Obama. The problem with the Biden administration that everyone is admitting now is that the person elected as president was not making the decisions on executive orders.

And yes, presidential pardons have been corrupted, but they are an important safety valve for when the judicial system screws up.

I would add to this end executive orders as legislation is supposed to start in the house. Let's also do away with presidential pardons.
