A reminder that if you are in Kabukicho of Shinjuku (the RLD), ignore the black touts and keep walking. They will try to take you to rip off bars. They are always in certain smaller street sections of Kabukicho, not where most of the tourists are. Every country has tourist traps like this.

As for Manzoku, I use them because they can give me discounts and escort me to oppai pubs and hostess clubs. I've used them 22 years and know if a shop is listed with Manzoku, it is a legit shop. The posters on their wall tend to be organized by category, with all oppai pubs in one section. Last visit, Club Sexy was new to me and they helped me get there in addition to giving the best rate. Manzoku also speed dials shops on their phone and can confirm if they are full or open to new customers (this can happen after 9pm). They communicate I'm a Japanese speaking foreigner, so no language test. I get a yes or no decision "on the spot". Usually, instead of getting a no they will say "Is a 20, 40, or X minute wait okay?" This means they will seat you and serve you beer, but it will be a wait before girls show up for you. Your timer does not start until you get a girl, so the waiting time is completely free and so is that beer.

Many DH shops like TAE will deliver to every ward of Tokyo, they will charge you a tiny extra delivery fee (1000-3000 yen or $7-$21) which is reasonable. If you book way ahead, girls tend to show up about on time but I've been giving a +/- 15 minute window sometimes. If you book with short notice, being in Shibuya will get you faster delivery times from TAE. Likewise for Shinjuku for many other DH shops. I've stayed in Shinjuku before and it's not bad, but it is tourist focused. This includes catering to non-Tokyo Japanese visitors, so it has a very Vegas-like feel sometimes. Shibuya otoh has food and shoping catered to locals, the average food is better and cheaper imo.

Many guys who saw multiple DH girls report liking several girls and hating one. The rate seems to be about 75% like and 25% dislike among all DH reviews. So there are many examples of guys getting a girl they didn't like first, or getting them last. Of course, some guy liked 3 girls in a row. Very rarely, a guy got two duds in a row. For this reason, I try to see a couple of girls, then repeat the one or two I liked the most. People who repeat a girl they liked of course had a very high satisfaction rate. Soapland has a reputation for slightly higher standards on service, but again every shop has duds. Some shops definitely average better than others, and it's reflected in their pricing.

I get it, I hesitated to do it for years. I went during morning hours when most streets were empty. I followed all traffic rules and saw it as a way to practice driving in Japan for the future.

So, the 1st thing is there are too many african man on street who tried to lure me and were way too pushy. Though I have seen worse touts in my homeland. Went up and was asked 13 K Yen for 40 minutes, 2 girls. Gave me mouthwash to have before entering.

1st girl was really good. Did kissing, sucked her boobs and she was talking nice but using translator.

2nd girl was older and way too poorer in English. So less conversation happened.

Did some boob sucking. I left after around 35 minutes total.

For a discount, if you can find the Kabukicho Manzoku shop they will escort you to Luxe and get you a special "first timer" rate of about 8K. The Manzoku shop is actually almost next door to Luxe (you can see the Luxe sign from the corner of their shop). Unfortunately, as you note this are has black touts. I feel like less than 10% of jgirls are cbj, but this is a ymmv thing. Being clean and respecful goes a long way, but some girls have their own personal policy. The bus will often show up 2 minutes before departure, load all luggage quickly, then depart 120 seconds later. It's amazing, so make sure you understand things in Japan tend to run on time. Also inside the same building, they can hold your luggage for you for a fee. All around you, is a ton of good food and some shopping if you have some extra time.

Next attached image is what an example love hotel looks like in Shibuya Dogenzaka. I only used it one time, for the hole in the wall DH. It is nice and has all you need, but I still much prefer my own hotel room.

Next image are common sense rules for Japan. Japan trusts people to behave themselves, and 99% of the time it works. Last is Excelsior's morning set breakfast. Breakfast varies by location, and only busy locations offer it. It is a light low-calorie meal with coffee or tea. Great for keeping a healthy weight in combo with a busy morning of walking.

It is simply a translation of your driver's license and takes 30 minutes. THen you can drive in Japan. Kart was actually pretty fun, I would try it daytime on non-rainy weather. About Shbiuya, the best section is Dogenzaka to the West. It contains a ton of night clubs, DH shops, strip clubs and more, and good shopping and food options. Shibuya caters to locals, so the food is far superior to Shinjuku. Shibuya is also close to everything else like Meiji Jingu, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Roppongi. It even has a direct express line to Yokohama (30-40 minutes, compared to 60-80 minutes from other parts of Tokyo). If you like pets, Harajuku has many unique pet cafes. I'd also recommend Teamlabs Planets or Teamlabs Borderless for a unique art experience.

Shibuya Galaxy
Among strip clubs, Shibuya Galaxy has the best appeal and all the girls there are young and you hand pick who you want. Their staff is professional and speak English. First time they will strictly search you for hidden cameras and electronics, they don't care about anything else. Dotonbori Strip
Dotobonri is very unique and it is most similar to a burlesque show in the US - playful tease and very classy. Your ticket is good for the whole day. It is "too classy" a show for most tourists. It's actually quite wholesome, the fans will clap to the song and line up for polaroids after. So more for curiosity than gratification. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you are out of ideas but you never seen anything like it .

I actually went to Dotonbori. It is one of the few places I didn't review because I only stayed for half a show and it falls under "surreal and only in Japan" rather than "for actual sexual satisfaction". I'm glad I saw it, but it is for people who are "tired of the usual".

Food Examples
In Japan you are going to get better and cheaper sushi or Japanese food than anywhere else in the world. The quality is there in Japan, even an average guy can tell the difference. First image attached is a "sushi snack" I got. I think it was $7 and the portions are generous, quality good. I eat sushi in the US regularly and it is good enough but not the same as Japan at a proper shop. It's almost 3x as expensive after tax and tip in the US for the same quality. See 2nd image, the shop I went was Sushizanmai (Dogenzaka branch) which is 4th floor of Dogen-zaka Center builing just outside Shibuya station. So when I walk from my hotel to the station to meet a girl, if I'm 45 minutes early I'll grab a 30 minute bite.

In Shibuya, the closer you get to the station the more options and competition there is. Next to Shibuya station are department stores, and inside every department store is a food court where nearly every restaurant is good. That makes it a good date meetup spot so your date can pick the restaurant they want. I met up with a JAV star and it turned out she wasn't hungry but just wanted to meet and thank me, so we had a parfait snack together.

Hotels cost less as you are further from the station, so I chose a compromise and stayed near Dogenzakaue in Shibuya. It made TAE deliveries very fast sometimes. The area is surrounded by convenience stores, restaurants, and about 8 mins walk to the station. If you see girls holding up signs at night, most are for girls' bars. It's probably not for you, but it's free to look.

There are some unique and trendy shops in Shibuya. Near one of the Apa hotels in Shibuya is this steak and rice bown shop. See the attached image, it shows an example order of 1790 yen for a "large with egg". This is $12 including tax, no tip! Remember that, food in Japan is way cheaper than it seems because tax is included and you never tip. Don't even try to tip. Notice the menu matrix - the cheapest order is a "small" at 1090 yen, up to a "mega size" at 2990 yen. To a healthy American, large at 1690 is fine. There are 4 kinds of rice. I also ordered a highball, which is whiskey + soda water + ice. Pictured is some salad plus whipped butter. I knew this place was good just from the smell, but also because during busy days there would be a line out the door. So if your hotel is nearby, you can beat the crowd at off-hours.

Club Scene
See attached photo of a church. It is not a church, it's a bar. Two other photos speak for themselves. This "church" is close to Shibuya Galaxy, Flamingo oppai pub (high mileage strip club but most girls are service rather than looks). I ranked Flamingo low due to looks, but I'd actually repeat them because most girls were good attitude and service. Take careful note how it is half price happy hour, so if you show up when doors open it is cheap.

The whole area feels like "Tijuana but very safe", with its street food, night crowds, many shops packed together. Friday and Saturday will have huge crowds due to clubbing.

Last three images are food. Indian food in Japan is usually cooked by actual Indians who can speak basic Japanese with a very bad accent, so no surprise the naan is fantastic. The curry is often sweet rather than very spicy, which I like. Next is a set of appetizers for a 7 course lunch I had at a Shibuya department store. Total was 2500 yen ($17), again tax included no tip. You can eat like a king. Last is the breakfast at Anderson bakery in Sakuragicho of Yokohama. I like Japanese breakfast, and most coffee shops in busy areas will offer a breakfast course. Pronto and Exlcelsior are two good coffee shops. Pronto coffee is superb, I just drink it straight black. It's nothing like Starbucks.

I ran out of image space but Zettaria and Yoshinoya are cheap fast food. When I tell locals how much I loved them, to them it sounds like I am raving about Popeye's chicken. It's considered super cheap food to them.

About seasons, the two times I would never go to Japan is peak summer or peak winter (July or August, December or January). Christmas in Japan is cold, dry, and the wind reminds you how cold and dry it is.

I just want to thank traveler x for writing the guide. I read your long post and found everything very informational. I'm in Japan right now and I been doing pretty much what you say with shibuya galaxy, luxe, and escort service. The only thing I couldn't find was the manzoku on the map since you posted a link to some restaurant. Anyway, Japanese girls are great at pleasing. You can walk along the main street just outside Kabukicho past the Mega Don Quijote, then turn left on a Family Mart. Keep going straight and Manzoku is on your left. Their mascot is a giant black bat. Last image is what the walk looks like standing from Manzoku looking out at the main street just outside Kabukicho. It's not a long walk. Just ignore every black tout, they will scam people with rip off joints just ignore them and keep walking and you're safe. The purpose of Manzoku is to escort you straight to a shop without getting lost, as well as getting the lowest entry rate possible (this can be even lower or equal to the shop's own best advertised rate). It is rare going straight to the shop will give you a better rate, with the exception of using a girl's card (which still might not be cheaper and forces you to pick that girl).

If anyone can speak 2-4 years of Japanese, beg Manzoku to take you to Hosekinobako (open 5pm) or Leicester (open 7pm) since the girls are much hotter there. I typically got 3 girls at these shops but sometimes got 4. Luxe has decent girls but it's a mix. Sometimes, Luxe will give you 2 girls instead of 3. It depends on availability. Luxe is a step down but some people had fun. So if it turns out to be your favorite thing, study Japanese a bit more. Or, go with a Japanese friend.

Hosekinobako and leicester will both let in "English only" guests as long as they have a Japanese speaking friend or a reservation. I confirmed this with their staff, it's their official policy. You absolutely can go in without speaking Japanese as long as you pass their conditions, and you can re-enter thereafter. I once saw one Asian who spoke okay Japanese lead 5 White Americans into Hosekinobako. Although I will say make a reservation if it's a large party or they won't have enough girls for 10-30 minutes. The purpose of these rules is to make sure that every visitor knows the system and rules and doesn't run off without paying. They are trying to prevent guys who don't follow rules and guys who don't pay. They don't really care about your speaking ability if that is satisfied (ex. ATex could get in and he doesn't speak Japanese, but he could show a credit card receipt proving he went before). A reservation and Japanese friend dramatically reduces those problems in their experience.

For those interested in using Manzoku. Ask for Luxe and they should give you 8 K entry ($55). If you are English only, Luxe is the most common oppai pub option in Shinjuku due to it being open 7pm and being the most English friendly. People have had hit and miss with a mix of hot and not hot girls. I got the same last visit.

I actually used TAE my first night because they are open 24h for delivery and I had been out all night. I believe incall ends at midnight and is the cheaper option, but I always chose delivery. There is also another Manzoku station on the west, you can recognize the black bat logo. There are actually a dozen non-Manzoku shops that offer the same service, but there is a huge gap in quality. I had no trouble using them, but they were kind of amateur. I would only use them as backup. Any question you ask them, they have to look it up on their phone since they don't really know the shops well like Manzoku (the most basic facts like opening time). Japan switched over to new bills in 2024. Due to the change many ATMs only give out 10k bills ($69) now. It means at a 138 exchange rate your $500 limit might really be a 60k limit since you can't make it to 70k or anything in-between. Early 2024 every 711 ATM used to be international, but this trip I could not use 711 ATMs. I could use the Family Mart ATMs instead, which had 'international' labeled.

Shibuya Tobu is close to the station and will be a fun experience. Near the station, there are so many good food options. It is fun just walking around, people watching. And of course, being near the station means you can quickly hop on the train and reach anywhere else in Tokyo or even Yokohama (there are express trains that reach Yokohama from Shibuya in 35 minutes which is very fast).

The limit for cash without declaration is 1 million yen, or about $6700. This means you can freely walk in past the final customs check with that amount. If you have more than $6700, that's perfectly legal but you should write it down on your customs declaration form. If you are a tourist, they don't care. They only care about smugglers. The moment any official realizes I'm a tourist, they relax and try to rush me through. Most of the time, it is 10 seconds with the customs officer and sometimes it is 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I have had my luggage searched 10% of my visits and it was no big deal since obviously I'm a tourist.

You can use credit cards to pay for hotels, restaurants, and major shopping. Cash is still king for smaller shops and adult fun. About cash and ATMs:

An ATM will ask you three options: Credit, Checking, Saving. With my bank card, I always want to pick Checking (Savings does not work). If I use a credit card for a cash advance, I select Credit. Whatever your ATM or cash advance limit, it resets after 24 hours. Make sure if you need cash advance that you have your PIN set, many credit cards will not allow you to set it online for safety reasons so it is too late once you are in Japan.

For large sums like $5K, I would simply bring that cash and convert it at the airport right after exiting customs. Narita and Haneda have an exchange just outside customs and it is the best rate in the country. Note that online currency exchange rates always publish the 'mid' rate which nobody actually gets. The Buy/Sell rate is +/- 2.5% typically, and the Japanese airport exchange will give you exactly that which is unusually good. The US airport will not! This rate is better than the ATM after fees (or tied if you have an online bank that reimburses fees).

Exchange rates are often misunderstood. If the mid rate is 142, then the Buy Yen rate will be 138.5. You cannot buy yen at the 142 rate anywhere, there is always a margin. Your best rate worsens once you leave the airport. The airport exchange overhead is 2.5%, an ATM for me was 3.5% (due to fees), and Travelex outside the airport was 5%. Do not use a kiosk, it's typically 10% to 20%.

You can bring about $7K cash into Japan without declaring it (it is legal to bring more, you just have to declare it at customs). Credit cards work perfectly well at many plaes in Japan, just don't use them for adult service since there is typically a special 10% extra charge.

If you use cash advance, interest accrues immediately on a daily basis. Just pay it off in a week or two and it's no much. Make sure to pay off your whole balance so the cash advance is paid off rather than non cash advance. Yes, it is as dumb as it sounds. Cash advance is cheap if you do it right, they are making money off of people who don't do this.

Around Shibuya, close to the station I really liked the sushi. Cheap and much better than the US. Japanese food of any kind is going to be your best value in Japan. But they also have unique fast food like Zettaria (that smell), Yoshinoya (Japanese people think it's trash but I love it), Mos Burger (not my thing but people should try it once). And of course plenty of everything else. In any busy place like central Shibuya, there is a lot of competition so the food standard is high and prices reasonable.

I recommend 001 condoms, they are 5 times as thin as USA condoms. Make sure the size fits, some guys need L or even XL size (XL 002 might be easier to find). They take a lot of practice to put on. I explain it best in this guide:
