As mentioned my internal travel costs within Frankfurt were E350 over 4 days and the only reason I stayed in central Frankfurt as I was also visiting Oase and Palace. But Palace is now dead to me and Oase on life support. If I had just stayed in Darmstadt my travel costs would have been E200.

AI says a car rental for 4 days in Frankfurt starts from around 80- 100 E. Maybe. Personally I think you need to pay at least 200 E. Still a way to go to 350 E.

You can often also save money on accomodation by picking a hotel along the autobahn (A5). Add free parking along the autobahn + the flexibility + not at least saving travel time (most clubs within the 10- 20 mnts mark). It's been years since I have stayed in central Frankfurt.
