Do not go to Diani. It is small and silent place, only on Friday there is some action, maybe something on Saturday. You will get bored there. Nyali area is big, rich people live there between beach and Link Road. Other side of the Link Road, not so rich people, there are even slums.

For mongerer / tourist looking for girls, Nyali means Naivas shopping center area and Hypnotica, Citymall and nearby Al Capone. You don't have to go to Nairobi. At the moment, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines are flying directly to Mombasa.

I try to avoid Nairobi because when returning Mom-Nai flight are always delayed or even cancelled. So you should take quite early flight from Mombasa to Nairobi to be sure that you reach Nairobi in time. And Nairobi airport is very boring place to wait.

In order to get to Mombasa you have to fly to Nairobi first and when I was at the airport. There weren't that many transfer flights happening. Don't get me wrong JKIA is a big airport but mongers don't visit Mombasa like how they used to back in the days. If your fligth goes to Nairobi first, you can spend a night there first. If your fligth to Kenya terminates to Mombasa, it is too much hassle and time to visit Nairobi. All those traffic jams to go to airport and leave airport, on both ends.

So, summary. Mombasa, hotel near Big Tree. Spend your days and afternoons in Big Tree, evenings in some of those places that I mentioned, and finally Casourina.

I don't know when you are planning to travel but right now rain season is starting to arrive, low season is coming. Which means also prizes are going down.

I want to visit Kenya soon. Given the choice between Mombasa and Nairobi, I'd choose Mombasa because of the ocean and more developed tourism. But after reading the forum, I'm not sure about my choice.

My needs are as follows:
