Depends on how much you like to drink. You are comming during a selection and the country goes dry for night. Some bars and clubs will be closed you can pregame with a bottle and a baddie in the room.

Posts: 57Medellin visit May 31st to June 5th
I booked a trip to visit Bogota and Medellin starting May 31st. I just realized that I will be arriving during the presidential election night. I am starting to rethink my visit and push my trip. Any thoughts from anyone on the current situation. IIs it better to delay any planned trip for now?

Posts: 20Wouldn't consider me a lame looser, but I have to admit, kinda made that mistake. That girl got me haha and in retrospective wasn't a good move to put her on a pedestal and letting her know. Would have been better to play it cool. Thanks for sharing!

As yourself mentioned it, Not all girl in Lleras are Deluxe in looks but this is the place any ratchet half-decent in look will come to command high fees, thanks to the thirsties.

Posts: 110Thank You for reminding them that, so they don't get stuck up their delusions.
Thank you for that video. I said that here the majority are Americans, and this what you get:

Posts: 18497Until they decide to call the friend, as they sometimes do. I always just say turismo. When they ask that, they are not trying to catch you up in anything. In every country you go to they want to know the purpose of your visit. I have never been asked in any county what I plan to see. It is asked for statistical purpose and to make sure you have the proper visa for what you are entering for. And when there are paper forms to fill out there is always a list of things and you check one. Tourism, Business, Student, Transit, etc. You do not need to make something up or be ready with a list of places you plan to visit in hopes they do not decide to deny you entry for you not knowing what you are going to see.

One source told me that there were plans for a new airport servicing Medellin, one closer to town, that would accommodate larger planes, to accommodate the increased traffic.
Another source told me that, the new airport was scrapped, and that the funds would be used to enlarge the airstrips to accommodate the larger planes.
Meanwhile, I see the immigration workers unions are still upset.

Posts: 457I used to fly Spirit often until about 10 years ago. BWI to FLL to either MDE or SJO.

When American had the good flights out of MIA to MDE, I made the switch. The price was competitive.
And I started getting their credit cards, and with a two or three of their offers for starting a new card.
Where they give 40,50, or even 60 thousand miles, the free trips added up.
The death of Spirit not only means that the other airlines will raise their fare.
But that the Spirit "demographic" will migrate to the airlines the rest of use.
I don't want to get off a plane and into the immigration line at Rio Negro with.
The kind of traveler that is catnip for Customs.

Posts: 279Avianca's direct flights from MCO were an on-and-off affair. I'm pretty sure now, without Spirit to compete with, they'll just keep their daily flights going. They also have the capacity to add more flights or larger planes easily if demand calls for it.

Posts: 1713I think they had daily flights from FLL and MCO. Not sure about other places, but perhaps this will help with the immigration lines coming into MDE. But not sure if JetBlue or some other airlines will swoop in and increase their flights to MDE.

Posts: 1186I stopped flying Spirit years ago and started flying Copa. I stopped Spirit because they left me stranded in Ft. Lauderdale overnight, but I didn't bash them after I stopped. I never had a problem on board their planes, only with some of their ground people and company policy. I surely don't rejoice in their demise. There are many people out of work now because Spirit is not flying.

Posts: 126I think they get profiled as 1- US passport, 2- entry stamps to Colombia, 3- Purpose of the visit, assuming he is not flagged on any list. I remembered the family right next to me got pulled aside and they were checking their itinerary and where they were staying, but again they took a a bit longer to understand what the agent was asking for. I believe knowing Spanish and being clear of your purpose would help a lot.
