Most four star and above business hotels and newer Airbnbs have reliable hot water, many three star mid range hotels have lukewarm hot water, budget hotels have only room temperature hot water. Since Barranquilla has a hot tropical climate most year around, it's considered as essential as in Medellin, Bogota.

I spent most of my time at Bloom, Kraby Spa, El Oyito, Mariangel Spa, Casa del Prada, Perfect Time, and Zero Stress. Bloom was my favorite, I went there almost every day and even spent nearly six hours there one day trying 4 girls out of six that looked good that day.

In the end though, one only need a few solid spots like Bloom to frequent and have a good time. Anyway, I hope this list is useful, thanks to everyone for their reports. Enjoy!

There are more units with no hot water in the warmer regions of the Pacific coast. I got caught out once in Monteria. Luckily it was just an overnight trip so I learned a cheap lesson. I always verify now.

You must be staying in the bottom of the barrel places because most any decent rental in Colombia has hot water.

Whenever I am in Bogota, I stay in a very nice apartment in a very nice part of town. However, it is an old building, so for hot water they have one of those electric heaters attached to shower head, which fucking suck. They only heat the water well if you run a trickle of water through them. Unfortunately, many hotels and older AirBnB use these too.

In my experience, with hotels in Bogota and Medellin it's usually a flip of the coin as to whether they will have good hot water or barely hot water. (But you can look for this info about the particular hotel beforehand.) In Cartagena, most of the hotels I have stayed at only have cold water, but it doesn't matter because the weather is hot as balls. Sounds like a similar situation for Barranquilla.

    Hot water

And half the places I stayed that have hot water (hotels included), the hot water does not work worth a damn. If you must have hot water then look under the "what this place offers" heading to see if they have it. I always get a place with a washing machine (and hopefully dryer) as well.

I have never stayed at a place in Barranquilla that does not allow guest. That is more of a Medellin / Cartagena thing where there is a high volume of single guys bringing in hookers. Sometimes the host may want you to send a copy of the guest's ID ahead of time though. But even when I have not done that there has been no problem. If there is a front desk then they will request it as well.

    AirBnB

If you go the AirBnB route be sure to check if they have hot showers. I've taken so many cold showers in Columbia because the places I've stayed didn't have hot water.

I don't know Amari Living Suites but Ciudad Jardin is a middle class area, no problem walking. You'll be using Uber, or better inDrive, to get around, especially with the humid heat at this time of year.

Amari Living Suites in Ciudad Jardin / Las Mercedes

Has anyone stayed at Amari Living Suites in Ciudad Jardin / Las Mercedes? It looks like an apartment style hotel in that area. I know places like these have visitor restrictions after certain hours similar to Airbnb, but I'm also curious about the neighborhood itself. Is the area considered relatively safe to walk, and is it conveniently located for getting to Centro, casas, bars, and clubs?

If anyone know bars / areas where to meet non pros?

Also note that in Barranquilla there is essentially no difference between a Casa and a Spa. You go in, someone tells you the prices (hour, half hour), the girls present themselves, you choose one and pay, or you say "maana talvez" and leave.
Hey Mate, yes, I started with your report and worked my way down the list. I noticed the more recent reports tend to be the most accurate. I'm all about variety, numbers, and the easy next door type vibe, it looks like Barranquilla offers both during the day and at night.
